Wanted to play all the way through Skyrim and finish the game this winter. I feel like I sat around a lot and was not very active, but it wasn't in front of the TV and Xbox as I did not finish Skyrim. My husband says, "Maybe you'll finish it one day." I replied, "Yeah, when I'm an old lady in the nursing home I'll ask for an Xbox and play all the games I never had time to play." Josh said no one will remember what an Xbox is by that time. I think Skyrim is a popular game that will stand the test of time. And Xboxes. But here's hoping I never slow down and try to have adventures until I die an epic adventurous death! In real life. :P

The goal was to hike along the Current River, near Thunder Bay, view the spring thaw, and reach the remains of the dam that once held Onion Lake. The recent high temperatures had caused more melting than anticipated. Silliness and nonsense happened as wet feet could not be avoided. Spirits remained high, and we had a good hike despite needing to turn back early due to water levels across the road.

Nothing like homemade burgers and fries after hours of hiking. Tried hiking to the old dam on Onion Lake, but the spring thaw put a river across the road. We didn't think it would be wise to wade across and turned back. Water level of the Current River was rising as we hiked thanks to the 15C or 60F temperatures today. I did take some video, and I’ll try to edit that quickly and share soon. 

“The Braggot is quite an old drink, there is a mention in Chaucer, Canterbury Tales in the late 1300s, and there are earlier references dating even further back to the 12th century in Ireland. Braggot is simply made by blending spices and herbs with mead and beer, to produce a strong concoction with uncommon flavors. Many taverns would make this blend right at the bar though brewers would also blend them as well. There should be a balance between the honey character and malt flavor with the hop bitterness not overpowering the sweetness yet should be noticeable. Todays Braggot may or may not be spiced."

Wants a donut. Does not want to walk in the cold to donut shop or spend money. Does have all ingredients, including cinnamon and powdered sugar. Baking them might be easier. Has no donut pan. Does have muffin pan. Will fill them with awesome strawberry rhubarb jam! Bismarcks!
