Private commission

A secluded spot along the road between Lux and Gull’s Motte. A small snippet of an imaginary world that started as a Minecraft map. This piece evolved from a study of Nooksack Falls.

It was time to do fanart for one of my favorite games of all time.

This started out as an Inktober drawing that ended up taking up a week instead of a day. Also my first time using a maquette for an illustration start to finish, and it was such a helpful tool.

A crossover fan art piece: a character from Magic: the Gathering, the planeswalker Tamiyo, as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Featuring Emrakul-mushrooms. 

My interpretation of the character from the Court of the Crimson King. 

A vampire who would be at home on the world of Innistrad, inspired by the most recent set of Magic: the Gathering cards. I painted this one very small to help get the image down before I get tired of it or lost confidence in myself, and it worked. 

This was a long, but rewarding project, and I learned a lot from it. And best of all, the client is happy!

This is the only character illustration where the final didn’t want inks, because, well.. We aren’t supposed to know who the master assassin is. He is so good, we only spot his victim (the Grey Wizard) but it is unclear who the perpetrator is despite the crowded street. My money’s on the guy in the hat in the foreground, but a lot have accused the nun. For Warlords and Sellswords, a tabletop game by Nasty Dragon Games.

For the sake of clarity and consistency, in each final character illustration, the main character has outlines, but this is  another one I liked without the inks more. This officer “recruits” soldiers from the competing army. For Warlords and Sellswords, a tabletop game by Nasty Dragon Games.
