             “More curious than anythin’. Not a lot of people come              through here, none besides me for a few months at least.”

         “Oh yeah? What happens in a few months?”

     “That’s classified information right now.” Hands on hips, head tilted. “You always had a morbid fascination with death or is it just because it might be someone you know?”

       Carter just rolled her eyes. “You sound awfully judgmental for someone who’s supposed to be unbiased, officer. Like I said, this is my neighborhood, and it’s gonna be all over the news by tomorrow anyway.”

               “Uh, because pizza is AWESOME, obviously.                  C’mon, have a slice. On the house.” 

                          “Well… his clothes would always be the perfect color for the season?” Billy tried, smiling just a little. Last time he met another witch, it hadn’t gone well and he decided he did not her at all. But Carter was nice and she seemed much less judgmental about his crazy magic. “What about you, got a super neat and quirky natural magic?” He hoped he used that right. Most of this stuff took a while for him to wrap his head around.

              Carter’s face falls at the question, but she does her best to conceal it by dumping a particularly potent ingredient into the pot just hastily enough that it billows an obscene amount of smoke out the top. It’s not quite enough to fully conceal her bitter expression, but it’s enough to distract from it. “I prefer recipes and learned magic myself. More reliable.” 

                       “ pizza ——— ?? is that a PEASANT dietary item ?? “                        

         “...You’ve never had PIZZA?”

            “Who are you exactly? I can’t seem to recall ever seein’ your             face around here before. You new in town or passin’ through?”

          “Just passin’ through. What’s it to you?”

         “Alright, ALRIGHT. Truce.” 

“That stuff doesn’t work on me. The doctors try too   hard to figure out why I’m not dead.” She radiates   heat too hot for the average human.

    “Oh. Right. Uh. What are you again? I can        probably whip you something up.”
