Not to be that person but I feel like sometimes Shrek being so memeable prevents people from seeing how truly revolutionary and radical the first two films really were. A children’s fairy tale that argues that no, ugliness does not mean bad and beautiful does not mean good. A fairy tale that argues that everyone deserves love, even those cast out of the margins of society. A fairy tale that dares to have a female protagonist not be conventionally attractive or helpless. A fairy tale that argues that love does not happen at first sight, but is grown through mutual respect and interest. That’s pretty fucking sick if you ask me

wizards of waverly place should’ve been pro abolishing the “only one family wizard or a set of siblings” rule. like allowing siblings to be raised using and mastering their powers only to eventually be forced to compete against each other so that only one of them may keep their powers while the other(s) loses their powers forever is so fucked up and unfair (also what about only children, do they just get to keep their powers without having to compete? that seems unfair too). like iirc they never even gave a reason for the “only one of these siblings may keep their powers” rule like what the fuck was the point, it’s so cruel and shitty to take away a literal key part of someone for a reason that (from what I remember) is never even specified! if wizards of waverly place wasn’t made by a bunch of cowards then alex and stevie would’ve gone through with the plan to challenge and out an end to the dumb rule, that would’ve been far more captivating and interesting of storyline than what we actually got

This is lovely! And it’s a simple enough design that it should be possible to make out of several different materials depending on what you have available.
