Not Great, Bob!

The reason why so many of y'all's feminism sucks is because you still believe deep down in your hearts that there are only two kinds of people in the world: precious, ethereal, fragile dollthings called "women", and violent, lustful, rage-fueled apes called "men". Until you throw that idea away, 3rd-grade-tier "girls rule boys drool, girls are princesses and boys are stinky :(" is as feminist as we'll ever get-- and I hope it's obvious that that's lightyears away from the bare minimum of where we need to be.

You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.

I get that a lot of people are like "bear is the villain and the real nikki is miserable and begging for death" (correct), but one thing I haven't seen is that. The entity possessing nikki isn't happy either!! And not just because Bear doesn't love her--she's upset almost all the time. She's confused and out of her depth in the real world because she's not human and doesn't know how to be normal. She's upset that she can't be normal or "be nikki" or love bear like he wants even though she's JUST doing what the willow wish stick "programmed" her to do. The entity possessing nikki is ALSO a victim and like lowkey I'm kind of compelled by The Entity as a character

I really do think Entity! Nikki is a childish existence and on top of it I think that's why it feels so bad to see her becoming traumatized from being with Bear when his wish ripped out parts of her that made it impossible to love him. Not! Nikki exists as sparknotes of her former self with the missing pieces filled in by Bear's own personality and habits, but she's still being traumatized because fundamentally Nikki and Bear's relationship is defined by her saying no and him not caring. It why I see the ending scenes of the movie as really nauseating because Not! Nikki is this new being without life experiences gauging her personality and behavior off of Bear's reaction and she starts to associate her genitals with violence. Entity Nikki is crying in the corner and starts to force herself to sleep at night and give Nikki full control because before that scene E! Nikki has the real Nikki's nightmare about how Bear raped her. It makes me feel sick since she's like a child that can't comprehend what's happening or why this is all hurting, and why she feels terrified by someone she loves. She doesn't understand why she feels so violated when one of the scenes with her and Bear is her assuring him he didn't violate her cause that's what Bear wants her to be telling him

His name being Bear. Her seeing him as a brother, and then the Hansel and Gretel story. Him not wanting to cancel the wish when he thought he could, just alter it. The soundtrack. The sunshine necklace and "Nikki would hate that" and then she stops leaving his house during the day. Everytime she freaks out after coming back into her own body. Him not caring. Fake Nikki making things up. "Is being with me so bad?" I love this movie so much Curry Barker you are a genius.
