#y’all i have met the most lovely man #he’s a friend of my brother-in-law-to-be and i met him at a fourth of july barbecue last night #i don’t know if it’s the recent breakup or if my prayers are just being answered really quickly #but i have a really good feeling about him and i REALLY like him #he’s very serious about his faith. very settled and mature. very similar to me in personality #very kind and humble and respectful and smart and funny #and handsome!#and!! i might be just hallucinating but he seemed like he enjoyed talking with me and was seeking out conversations!#he’s just moved back home from another city and he’s wanting to get married and settle down #idk i am VERY cautious about just immediately developing feelings for someone i’ve just met #but i also have a really good feeling about him #prayers for wisdom and acceptance of God’s will would be hugely appreciated!!#also (if it is his will) prayers that i’ll get to see him again soon and maybe get to know him better 👀#thank you all for being my built-in support system inside my online diary #jane talks

I would never use the term BAMF but if I did it would be to describe the brilliance of Maria Pappadimos, possibly the most stone-cold character of all time

#dude she's a freedom fighter waging war against the nazis! running spies and guns and food and doing everything she can!#her father got put in prison so she took his place in espionage work!#and it's SO unglamorous. absolutely nothing flashy or witty about her #she's just stone-cold business #and her authority!! she doesn't have to say a word to let everyone know she knows what she's doing and can save their lives #she watches her village burned! her friends murdered and captured and raped and imprisoned!#her father captured! her brother killed! who knows what else!#her best friend freaking betrays her and maria has to shoot her because WHO ELSE CAN??#the maria-anna storyline is one of the most gut-wrenching things in any movie ever #i just can't even explain how much i admire her character and hope she made it through the war #i hope she and stavrou got married and had tons of kids and raised them in peace in a rebuilt mandrakos #she deserves all good things in the world #also she's portrayed by the legend herself irene papas!!#jane talks #the guns of navarone #maria pappadimos
