Gee, that's hard. I suppose a recent one is No Woman, a double-genderbent Eothiriel where one of them is also trans! I get that genderbending is not everyone's cup of tea, but I am pretty proud of it. It is also based on a fascinating Balkan tradition.

Well, right now I am writing two things that are outside of my normal content: an original historical fiction novel, and a x reader fic!

3 ⧽. what's something you like about your writing?

I am constantly in a love-hate relationship with my writing, but I like how I vary sentence structure. I use long sentences to immerse the reader into the story and short ones to drive home a point. I also like that I can use all five senses to convey what it's like to be in a character's shoes.

17 ⧽. are there any songs you want to write a songfic for?

As a matter of fact, yes! I feel that "Marble Halls" can adapted into a fic about Sam and Rosie. Due to copyright issues, you can't use an entire song in a fic as people used to do, but I can use several lines. I could have Rosie singing it for an assembly of hobbits, and Sam watching and reflecting on their relationship.

18 ⧽. how do you want your writing to feel to your readers?

I want to use tone and indirect discourse to help readers understand what it's like to be in a character's mind, and I want to use all the five senses to show the reader what it's like to be in their skin. In other words, I want the story to transport readers to a different world, corny as that sounds.

You asked him about his battlefield adventures, but he demurred, his granite-etched brow growing cloudy.

“You are such a precious companion,” he said, “and this night so full of life and hope, why speak about such things?”

You glanced at your plate, the edge glinting in the firelight.

“I simply wish to know.”

“Another day,” he said, gesturing to a servant to bring more wine. “My feats are storied, but at times, they are not the stories I wish to tell.”

After that he was mum for a time, taking a large bite of roast. He took a long time chewing, and you gazed at his round, honest face with its skin like well-worked leather. He smelled of sweetness and salt at once, though his skin and hair looked freshly washed. Already, a tender, percolating feeling stirred inside you, and you felt like you were melting into the candled summer air.

Some weeks later, he asked for your hand.
