Guys, gals, non-binary pals, it’s a kids show. Analyzing it, great, love it. But referencing Moffat and Davis shit? That crap was bad, and the kids? They won’t remember any of it! Doctor who isn’t about grand sweeping space opera like stories, they’re supposed to be episodic adventures for the kids! I just don’t get it, why do you want this nice TV show with fun episodes to be convoluted and stupid?

So here I go. (just watched on netflix).

To me there's no denying that their relationship is more partner than parent, but that doesn't mean it his has be romantic, (ew) because that's what we're getting at right? We're all worried it's romantic? I don't think it is.

I get the impression that in a bad situation they're each other's first calls. In ten years hope will be a teacher at the school, and she and Alaric they'll be watching Jepordy together on a Sunday night (or whenever jeopardy airs). Honestly the vibe i get is that they're platonic soul mates. (maybe a bit strong? Maybe work best friends.) Thing is Alaric has so much respect for hope, he knows what's she's been through and how powerful she is that it's kind of hard to see her as a kid, ya know? They're on equal footing, they're equals, partners. So it can't really be kid and parent. He has the experience, and she has the power. They're like weird best friends or something. And honestly it's pretty cute.
