To make it easy for everyone to add a date and time to the Countdown Timer widget, we built a new Input Controller for time.

If you’ve been using the Position Controller to arrange elements in your widgets, you know that every time you had to open the reference point as well. For example if you wanted to position an element in the top right, or in the center of the object, you would have used different reference points. We just made a small update to allow you to control where elements are positioned from within the same controller. Try it out on the Description Dots widget.

One of the priorities we have at Widgetic is to make sure that every widget we build works on any platform and device. For this reason we are continuously exploring different integrations that bring value to our customers.

A great such example is the ability to integrate our widgets in Facebook, using a service called Pagemodo. You can see the result here, where we integrated a widget in a Facebook tab.

Over the past few weeks we worked with the guys at Embedly to add Widgetic support.

This opens up a lot of possibilities, but the one we're most excited about is the integration with Medium, which you can read about here.

Starting today, you can copy/paste the URL of your compositions in all platforms that support Embedly or oEmbed. This is important for platforms that only support one of these two embedding options, such as Medium.

How does it work?

When you publish a widget composition, instead of automatically refreshing the page, we also give you the option to share the widget with everyone. It's easy and the Twitter messages are hilarious, really! :)

While we have built some of the most popular content services into our product (Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, Dropbox, direct link), there are still many services that most of our users have, that are not yet supported by our platform (for example, web image search or Google Drive). Because we want to build the services that provide you with the most value, we're adding today a new Content Source in the Editor, that allows you to vote for the services you'd like us to support.

Today we released an update you usually don't get to see. We've improved the design of the notification message. This happens if, for example, you delete a composition while you still have it embedded or if you're missing space to add additional hosts. An example below:

  We've taken extra steps to be sure you don't see this too often. For hosts, we released today an important update: the hosts are added automatically to your account when you embed a composition in a site, as long as you have available hosts with your account type.

Today we release a new input controller that has been requested by many of you: Font Style.

You can search for a specific font, or a category of fonts (such as Serif, Sans, Script, Mono, Hand, Decorative). You can also modify the size and the font Style from the same controller.

This list is using the fonts available on Google Fonts. We're looking into integrating other services in the future as well.

We're excited to tell you more about a new feature we built into the Editor. It's called Bulk Edit and you can see how it works in the GIF below.

The Bulk Edit can be found in the Details step, where you're setting specific details for each content item. With Bulk Edit, you can set properties that apply to all items (such as this background image). Depending on the widget, you will also be able to overwrite such properties.

When you connect for the first time with Dropbox, we create a folder on your computer in Dropbox > Apps called Widgetic. We can only read the files from this folder. We don't have access to other files or folders in your Dropbox, for security reasons.

Put the files you want to use on Widgetic inside: Dropbox > Apps > Widgetic.

You can organise the files in folders if you want. Depending on the widget type you use we'll display specific file types in the Editor.

Photo Widgets: we'll display only image files

Audio Widgets: we'll display only audio files

Video Widgets: we'll display only video files

As a Widgetic user you have the option to choose from different account types, which we’ll describe more in depth soon. Today we want to focus on ways you can pay for your Widgetic account.

You might have noticed that we integrated Stripe as our payment processor. Stripe is a reliable and well known company for accepting payments online.

With Stripe we are accepting payments from the following credit and debit cards:

U.S. businesses can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.

Australian, Canadian, and European businesses can pay with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Your credit card number is kept safely only on Stripe, and the pin code is never stored anywhere. When updating your credit card information on the billings page, or when adding your card, the information is sent securely to Stripe and they return the encrypted data to us.

Additionaly, we added SSL protection to Widgetic (https), so that transfer of data is secure between us and Stripe. SSL is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client. SSL allows sensitive information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, and login credentials to be transmitted securely.
