Chapter 1 - you’ll change your mind, and leave this fucked up place behind

It’s finally happened.

If I’m being honest, it’s about dam time that it did. I packed my bags, left for good and now trying to settle in a new city. I’ve saved up for the past two years to share a flat with two other girls, one of them being my high school classmate; my college classes start in a week and I have to find a way to make money before I end up broke. Or homeless. Or dead. Whichever comes first.

Now, I’m sitting in a shitty, cheap diner with my sibling, Zoren, who is sitting on the opposite side of the table, eating some fries.

“So, what’s the plan?’ they ask me.

“I’ll figure it out. You know me.” I insist. Because it’s true. Somewhat.

“Alright. If you say so.” They reply, putting another fry into their mouth, as I sip on my coffee.

“So, you found a place to stay? An actual one?” I ask, trying to look out for them.

“Yea, I found one. Me and James are sharing a flat, so it’s okay.”

“Ok that's good. How have you been dealing wit-”

“I’m fine. I’m handling it, the both of us."
