i know it's not realistic given kaz's everything but i keep wondering what would've happened if kaz had stepped closer instead of ignoring nina's "you may not be glad we're alive but we're glad you're alive. come here!"

what if he stiffly moved two feet closer? would jesper have cheered? would matthias have said "stay back, demjin!" and nina hit him on the head? would nina have motioned him closer impatiently and *then* inej said "leave him be"? what if they got the barest scrap of affection from him? would he have glared at them to hide the fact that he wants to join? would anyone have seen through it? what would colm say? would colm try to bring them together and get smacked by kaz's cane for it?

what if he glanced over his shoulder at them? at inej? what if his eyes turned pleading? what if they didn't? what if he just glowered at them because he can't have what they do in this moment? what if his gaze just went over them all impassively? what if he was trying to memorize their faces, pressed against each other in joy?

he smiled at the ice court. when the tank rolled over the hill, he grinned like an idiot. what if he had wanted to smile then?

being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

no im so serious, half of this fandom is so hellbent on making Splinter out to be the Worst Parent of the Year for being painfully human capable of making mistakes and then parentify Raph who is canonically just as rowdy, violent and impulsive as his brothers, even with his streak of responsibility as the oldest and the leader.

it’s like everybody’s got amnesia and completely forgot the mini-montage of Splinter’s memories CLEARLY showing he spent time with his sons and cared for/about them. what is it with people’s inability to accept multifaceted parental figures who arent Perfectly Good Angels 100% of the time or arent Downright Awful Evil Parents. it’s like some of you took his poorer qualities and made them his whole personality.

“Raph raised his brothers” i bet you that little boy sat his ass in front of the TV to watch wrestling matches as Splinter was running around in the back trying to make sure Leo didnt break his damn neck from climbing a bookshelf.
