dean gets badly concussed and has to concede to have cas chauffeur him around. sam acts like he’s going to do it and cas is like “you take turns too quickly and your music causes migraines.” and holds his hand out to dean for baby’s keys and sam’s like “what the fuck dude…” when dean just hands them over without saying a word.

in my mind they can’t find a break in the job for the first bullet point and there aren’t any more victims and they chalk it up to People. but still give their info. and then years later they get a call and cas means to go alone and check it out but dean has been in his business more than usual lately so he tags along. cas is not thinking about the way sam introduced him because it was years ago. when they meet with the witness dean says “im dean, you met my brother last time we were in town,” and the witness looks at cas (BROTHER IN LAW) and thinks about the way dean followed him in the door of the coffee shop, half a step behind him and a hand on his shoulder until he saw her, and she says “your sister must get tired of you two hogging her husband all the time.” because that’s the natural conclusion. right. and then dean says “whose husband?” and cas says “they have no sister” and the witness goes “oh god, im sorry, i shouldn’t have assumed,” and then they get to business and cas thinks BROTHER IN LAW. and the job has real leads this time but every time they interact with locals the conversation is off. “we don’t get too many folks like you around here” what, hunters??? “i’ve got a niece who’s into that type of thing” ????? going into crawl spaces with a gun??? “i’m glad you feel at ease in our little town :)” lady dean has not felt at ease once in this little town and it’s not even the monsters fault. and then they kill the thing and go home and dean says “what the hell was all that about” and cas says “who knows what humans are thinking” and the credits roll. and dean has no clue at least 15 people have assumed he’s married to cas in the past three days due to 1 (one) offhand remark and also. the sum of his behaviors.

ishim wanted to kill dean and make castiel watch bc he thought cas was living his dream of being married to the object of his obsession. when in fact dean and cas were in year 8 of a desperate sexless tragedy which they continued to play out like whatever the opposite of gay chicken is. two gay men pretending to be straight and the first one to man up and confess his love loses. to death.
