Writing long-term malnutrition
This is just from my personal experience, but here are some fun details you can torture your characters with <3
~ No amount of food ever feels like enough if it's not meeting your nutritional needs. You can eat until you're sick, but your mouth will still water when you see a fast food commercial.
~ On that note: you get cravings! Lots and lots of them.
~ You might also get "phantom tastes," like swearing you taste a flash of real, actual food in the bland porridge you're eating.
~ You cannot exercise without Consequences™. All physical activity starts to sap at your body's reserves, causing muscle aches and (over time) weight loss.
~ On the other hand, not moving much at all causes its own muscle and joint problems.
~ You might not want to move much anyway, though, because (get this!) not eating can make you very lethargic and fatigued. You might sleep a lot, or not feel like doing much when you're awake.
~ Your brain doesn't really work right without the proper nutrients. This can cause brain fog, inattention, short-term memory issues, and other fun side effects.
whumpee losing something precious and going into Absolute Panic Mode turning their entire room upside down to find it but it's nowhere to be found. bonus if it's something they got from whumper. bonus bonus if caretaker threw it away by accident or intentionally.
Whumper owning trained dogs and living weapons and treating them the exact same. They sleep in crates next to each other, wear the same collars, have the same commands, even eat the same foods. Some of the weapons don't even know how to speak and have adopted bark and growl-like noises for communication. Whumper sharpening weapon's teeth once weapon begins biting enemies they same way the dogs do.
Whumper sits down and has a dog resting its head on his thigh for pets, and soon weapon begins to mirror it. Whumper pets weapon's head the exact same way he would for the dogs, and the weapon's eyes close with bliss. "Good boy."
Collar
CW: Shock collar, degradation, humiliation
Shock collar that activates every time Whumpee talks, until they're terrified to make a sound.
Then after they're rescued, Caretaker is horrified to discover that the chatty Whumpee they knew has turned completely mute and refuses to speak even after the collar is removed
Having to find new ways to communicate while trying to teach Whumpee to talk again
Permanent burn marks ringing Whumpee's neck
Power-suppressing collar around a super's neck
The Villain clawed and spat and yelled, now they sit in shame, their greatest asset stripped from them
Subdued Hero paraded around like a party favour by the Villain after turning them harmless (or the other way around)
A bejewelled collar covered in rhinestones that cost tens of thousands, but Whumpee would do anything to get rid of it
Or maybe they wear it with pride
"There now, you should be grateful I spend so much on you." "Yes, Master."
Living Weapon/Monster!Whumpee collared so they don't hurt themselves or others
Collar so tight it chafes, leaves bruises, maybe even cuts off Whumpee's air supply
Pet!Whumpee who is fiercely protective of their collar, feels exposed without it, so when Caretaker tries to convince them otherwise it only makes them more distrustful
Team gets captured and Leader is dragged out and collared in front of them, the leash tight in Whumper's hand as they smile down at Leader
Prisoner/guard dog Whumpee who wears a collar as a mark of identification with their number/owner on the tag

”handler” is such a good word i cant even get over it. talk about economy of language.
nothing quite like a whumpee no one knows existed. caretaker inheriting a house and oh god- there's someone in the basement. taking over a ship and- Is that a prisoner? hero getting kidnapped or infiltrating a base, stulbling into a room where they find a bleeding whumpee. spy getting interrogated by someone with suspicious wounds. getting thrown into a cell with someone who's been there for a long time.
Three trans women facing eviction
Hi, we're three disabled women in a real hard spot. With savings drained and no job prospects to speak of, we're faced with a rapidly approaching eviction day. We need to be able to pay rent by the 21st, otherwise we're all going to end up on the street or worse.

1. "can you shut up already?"
Love my bad caretakers! <3
same, anon...
prompt list
content: bad caretaker, aftermath of whump, emotional whump
"Can you shut up already?" Caretaker snapped.
Whumpee immediately recoiled. Caretaker sounded genuinely angry. They had never heard them angry. They, in their stupid head, had decided Caretaker wasn't even capable of being angry. But clearly, they had been wrong.
Handler caring for Living Weapon as if they were any other tool
Washing and braiding their hair. More intricate braids to show off how compliant LW is
Ending training early because Handler knows where LWs limits are better than LW does.
LW gets hurt, and Handler fights anyone trying to send them back out into the field before they're fully healed up
Manhandling LW, showing a colleague all their specialties, comparing it with someone elses LW
Finding a new bruise on LW that they didn't put there and demanding to know where it came from. Punishing LW for not taking better care of themselves, don't they know how valuable they are?
"My last one was bigger but this one is so much faster."
Buying new "accessories" to make LW more lethal, brass knuckles, new knives, etc
Some of those accessories are surgical enhancements.
Piercings as accessories or badges showing Handlers accomplishments

hellooo! i was wondering if u could write something with whumpee hiding a massive injury? maybe they end up collapsing in front of caretaker/leader etc. idk what else to write 😭
if not that’s totally fine! thank you!!
Hiii anon so like... It's been a month since you asked for this 😭 and I'm sorry it took so long I low-key forgot I wrote it for like a week :')
I really enjoyed writing this and it was honestly so fun to write! I ended up somehow not making them collapse I hope that's okay 😭
I hope you enjoy! :)
_____
Two days.
Two days since it reopened.
Whumpee's stitch job was botched at best. It was done a week ago in the middle of a battle. Rush work by a trainee. But it wasn't a major thing. Just five stitches, Whumpee could've done it themselves if they had the supplies and the stomach to do it.
It felt alright. Sure, whenever they moved weirdly they could feel their skin pinching or tugging but that was expected.
Until two days ago.
When they moved a little too fast and the gash in their side reopened.
They didn't go back to the medical centre because the medics there already had their hands filled to the brim with miserable fighters who had worse injuries than them.
Besides… if they don't move a particular way it almost feels like it's not there. They just couldn't move that way.
They've kept the wound clean, wrapping the bandages every few hours, wrapping them tight, putting on ointments, not moving much, not panicking when the bandages bleed through, etc. So they thought it would be okay.
Apparently they thought wrong.
They felt warm. Really warm. And nauseous. And dizzy. They had a fever.
This is the last thing they needed. A bloody infection. They were so careful too.
Now they had to figure out a way to sneak some antibiotics from storage. Because if the rest of the team, or God forbid, caretaker found out, Whumpee will definitely regret existing.
That brings them to now. They were staring at the wall opposite the team lounge. It was team meeting day. It really couldn't get worse, they thought as leader droned on about strategy and this week's performance.
“Whumpee!” Whumpee's eyes snapped in to focus when Leader's voice grated their eardrums.
“Stop zoning out. I've been trying to get your attention for the past minute.”
“Sorry.” Whumpee grumbled.
“This actually brings us to our next order of business. Whumpee, you've been too distracted lately.”
Whumpee blinked slowly. “... No I haven't.”
Leader looked unimpressed. “What's going on with you?”
“Nothing! Nothing's wrong.”
Leader stared at them, the way they do to make you talk.
“…”
“Nothing’s wrong! What do you mean I've been distracted?”
“Who did you meet in the lobby after practice yesterday?”
“.... Caretaker.”
Leader sighed and looked at them tiredly. “No Whumpee you met me.”
“W-well… you and caretaker look alike!”
The whole team stared at them. Caretaker and Leader in fact, did not look alike.
__
Leader sighed.
They knew. They could tell. They were able to tell for a while now. They were going to let it slide, they were going to let Whumpee handle it however they wanted to, but caretaker insisted they bring this up.
“You’re not allowed to come for practice until you're not sick anymore.” Leader did not blink when they gave the verdict.
Whumpee surged up.
“That's bullshit! Why not?!”
“Because you think me and leader look alike whumpee. You are clearly not okay.” Caretaker said gently.
“You too?!” Whumpee glared at caretaker. “I can't believe this.” They grumbled but leader didn't miss the way Whumpee leaned on the table a bit heavily.
They watched as Whumpee heaved a large breath, their chest rising slowly.
“Yes I may have been distracted the past couple of days but I can still function!”
Caretaker stood up, gently reaching out to them. “Whumpee calm down-”
“No you calm down! You're all basically saying I'm incapable!”
“No we're not. You're obviously sick. We want you to be okay.” Medic drawled from the other side of the room.
“Oh you shut up.” Whumpee sneered. “I am not sick. I am definitely not ‘obviously sick’. I am alright. Just a little distracted.”
Whumpee was growing more and more animated.
“Whumpee. You are overreacting.” Leader said steadily.
“I'm not overreacting! I'm reacting perfectly normally for someone who was just told that they were being useless when they aren't!”
“None of us said that-”
“But you're all thinking it!”
“Whumpee-”
“You're all thinking that I'm burdening this team because I'm distracted!”
Caretaker gasped
“Whumpee-”
“I'm not! I'm perfectly fine!”
“WHUMPEE!”
“WHAT?!”
“Why are you bleeding?” Caretaker asked, mortified.
Whumpee looked down mortified.
“I-I… it's probably sweat? I need to go.” They tried to move away from the table but caretaker and medic sprung up from their seats.
Caretaker was on them so fast it was kind of impressive. Especially considering they were on the opposite side of the table.
“Whumpee. Why are you bleeding?”
“It's not blood.”
Medic came and tugged the three layers of clothes Whumpee was wearing to reveal their bloody, pale, and yellowed side.
“Yep that is blood.” Medic sighed. “Take them to the medbay.” They pinched the bridge of their nose.
Caretaker picked up a now flailing Whumpee and started carrying them ignoring their curses and protests.
__
The bandage felt snug around their waist. They hated to admit it but it was a better job done than Whumpee could do themselves.
“Is it too tight?” Medic asked.
Whumpee huffed. “No…. Thank you.”
“You're welcome. Stop being a fucking idiot.”
Medic turned to caretaker. “Make sure they take these every eight hours, and these every six hours. Keep them hydrated and in bed. Tie them if you have to.” And with that medic left grumbling about lunch.
Caretaker sat next to them after the door slid shut.
“Why didn't you tell me.”
“Because I was okay-”
“You were not okay. You were bleeding out with an open wound that was infected. So why?”
Caretaker didn't go to fill Whumpee's silence and it remained for a bit.
“.... I was scared.”
Caretaker nodded at them to keep going.
“I… I don't like not being useful.”
“You don't have to be useful all the time Whumpee. We don't want you on the team because you're useful. We want you because you're you.”
Whumpee looked away.
“That's stupid.”
“Only when you do stupid things like this.”
“So what do you suggest?” Their lip was wobbling now.
“Talk to someone when you're not okay. We want you to be okay. Not be useful.”
Whumpee leaned on caretaker’s shoulder and they wrapped an arm around Whumpee. “Let's get you to bed and get some meds in you.”
Whumpee groaned.
“Hey you brought this upon yourself. Now I'm not leaving your side until I know you're okay.” caretaker smiled.
Whumpee leaned heavier on them and they were getting ready to hear the usual grumpy grumblings about “this is so unnecessary”, “unfair”, “I can take care of myself”.
But Whumpee whispered.
“Thank you.”
good old "finding out how the other army treats their men" except it's through being a spy, not a prisoner.
one spy coming back like "the good news and the bad news is that we're fighting traumatised people who would probably fold at the sight of proper nutrition"
one who can't bring themselves to go back bc life is so good on the other side and the longer they wait the worse it'll be for them. one who 'loses' contact with command after a while.
(good) side being able to recognise the 183828 spies the other side is sending because duh. look at them they have big scared eyes and shake at the sight of a commanding officer. they eat like starving dogs. they can't walk past the infirmary without tearing up a little.
character who was medically neglected as a child and now they're horrible with illnesses
getting seriously ill but not going to the doctor until they're in extreme danger because their parents did the same to them as a kid
never getting tested for food allergies / intolerances and just vomiting anytime they eat a certain food or food group
ignoring a chronic symptom they've had since they were a kid just to find out oh, they have (insert chronic illness / disease / condition)
accidentally being a shit caretaker to another character because they don't know proper remedies or medications to help them feel better
being extremely emetophobic because their parents would panic severely infront of them anytime they vomited
character being terrified of shots because they never had them growing up and now they have to make up for all the vaccines they missed
not knowing the signs right before you vomit so they can never make it to the toilet on time
"Abuse is when a man seeks to break someone for his own pleasure," Whumper said. "Correction is when a man seeks to build someone up by teaching them where they stand. You're lashing out because you're being held to a standard, and you're too soft to meet it."
His hand on the nape of Whumpee's neck tightened not enough to hurt, but enough to command absolute attention. He leaned down, his face inches from Whumpee's, his eyes boring into theirs with a terrifying intensity.
"Don't you ever use that word again to cover up your own lack of discipline. It's an insult to people who have actually suffered."
You don't get it as much on tumblr compared to other platforms, but I love seeing a whump post and everyone in the comments is invading enthusiastically, and then there's just one person who has no clue as to what they've stumbled upon and is just incredibly concerned and/or scared

I need more living weapons having crazy reflexes. catching shit, adjusting, deflecting, etc without flinching or even seeming to process what is going on. and like, in mundane ways specifically ! catching someone from falling or slipping, deflecting things, etc.
idk I've just been watching a lot of compilations of people having good or weird reflexes and I need to see / hear about this more with living weapons because they probably would have really excellent, if not superhuman, reflexes.
I think there's a lot you can do with it too. is the living weapon surprised ? are they embarrassed ? etc
