     Annabelle had arrived home after a New Years party at around nine in the morning on the first of January. It was moving day, and the apartment next to hers, that had been vacant for two months, was no longer empty. She caught sight of a tall blonde disappearing into the apartment with a box in his arms as she walked down the hall. Her heart thumped a little, having only gotten a glimpse, but it was enough to make her excited.

     He looked young, early twenties, around Annabelle’s age, and he was cute. Maybe a little different from her usual type, but still attractive nonetheless. Annabelle approached her apartment, fumbling with the keys. She had just unlocked her door when another man left the newly rented suite next to hers.

     It wasn’t the blonde from before.
