Following on going medical struggles and a decline in my mental health, I have made the very hard decision to retire from the RP side of Tumblr. This is not connected to anyone and no one has made me feel uncomfortable. I'm just not currently capable of continuing to participate. I say "retire" because I do not expect to be able to return within the next year.
I realize that some of my characters have relationships with other ocs so feel free to just pretend that never happened or make up a reason they aren't around anymore.
I'll probably still occassionally be on Tumblr and I will miss y'all a lot.
You are welcome to message me or ask questions, but please do not ask me to change my mind as this was already a really hard choice to make.

TW: for vomit and pregnancy scare
In this AU, Emilia doesn’t have a set love interest + it might not be a baby 👀
It started with the aches, the mood swings, the fatigue. She could just be sick. That’s what she kept trying to tell herself. She’s just sick, it’s nothing, people get sick all the time. It’ll go away.
She should check. Right? Just in case. Just pee on a stick and it’ll come out negative and everything will be fine. She fidgets with the box in her hand, chewing on the tip of her thumb nervously.
Her train of thought was quickly cut off by a sudden wave of nausea. She rushes out of her room, almost bumping into someone on the way to the bathroom. She quickly gets in, throws the box in the sink and shuts the door, spitting into the toilet.
Destiny waited until she sounded like she was done before knocking on the door. He didn't know her fear, being only aware that she was sick. He hadn't been around pregnant women enough to even question such symptoms.
"Duckling?" He raps lightly on the door again. "You alright?"
“Yeah…. Yeah I’m fine” she says unconvincingly, her voice slightly drowsy. She really hopes Destiny doesn’t suspect anything. She knows he’d probably freak out if he knew
Edward paces around their apartment, nervously tugging at his feathers, wings fluttering out. “Destiny, come home, please come home-” He gulps down a few tears, continuing to pace around the room, one hand reaching up to tug at his curls.
“Tiny- please, please come home…” His head flings up when he hears the front door open. “Destiny!” He shrieks and runs across the room, slamming himself into Destiny, he’d seen him this morning, but he was having a horrible day and just wanted them.
@edward-darius (cause I missed them lol-)
Destiny stumbles, back, putting one hand out against the doorframe to avoid being knocked over, and throwing the other one around Edward. "Hey- Hey, birdie. What's up. What's going on?" Now that he is steady, he uses one hand to gently cup Edward's face, brushing tears off his cheeks.
Edward melts into Destiny’s touch, slumping into him. He leans into his hand, taking a few shaky breaths. “Terrible day- m’wanted ya to come home.” He tucks closer, his wings curling around himself, being vulnerable in the way he only ever is with Destiny.
Edward kisses him back then nods and curls further into Destiny. “I’d like that…” He shuffles over to the couch, pulling Destiny along with him, hands shaking a little.
Destiny follows, kicking off his shoes quickly and grabbing a blanket from the back of the chair. It was a bit warm to tuck up, so he turns on the air conditioner before sitting down and patting his lap. "Come here, birdie."
Edward ruffles his wings out carefully, watching Destiny and feeling incredibly cared for. he glances down at Destiny and immediately collapses down into his lap, tucking up small and resting his head on Destiny’s chest, sniffing and wiping at a few stray tears. “M’sorry, today just sucked…”
“M’glad ya here.” Edward hums happily at the affection, nuzzling back into Destiny. “Yeah… I know. M’just so used to having to.” He sighs and fidgets with his hands. “I went out today to get some house things, someone said my wing were the ugliest thing they’d ever seen.”
"What!" Contiplating murder. "It was probably a FoH asshole. They're wrong and your wings are the most beautiful wings out there. And you are also beautiful."
Edward nods shakily, holding tightly to Destiny, he quickly swipes a tear away. “Thanks Tiny… I hate my wings so much…” He flutters them out then shakes his head. “Then, then I ran into one of my foster parents…”
Edward nods shakily, wiping his tears away. “He didn’t recognize me but I recognized him. Tiny- I didn’t evens make it to the store… M’sorry, I didn’t get our groceries.” He tears up and presses a shaky kiss to Destiny’s shoulder. “M’just wanted ya all say.”
Destiny rubs his back gently. "Alright. We'll be fine. I can go to the store tomorrow." He moves his hands through Edward's wings, pulling any loose feathers free and letting them fall to the floor. "Awe. Next time, you call me, okay? I can at least make time to talk."
Edward relaxes as Destiny helps him with his feathers. “But I was supposed to get the groceries cause you’re so busy this week.” He shifts and tucks his head against Destiny’s chest, melting into him, his eyes closing for a brief moment. “I didn’t wanna bother ya… you don’t mind if I call? Today was just… hard.”
"You can always call me. I'll do my best to pick up whenever you do." Destiny glances down, noticing how tired he seems to be. "I am busy this week, but I'll always choose you over everything else. It's not your fault you had a rough day. Should probably go to bed early though."
Edward nods shakily as he curls further into Destiny. “I just wanted to do somethin’, so ya didn’t have to worry bout’ it. Why am I such a…” He trails off and buries his face into their chest. “Probably should… M’so tired.”
"Mhm. I know." Destiny adjusts so he can stand up, keeping his arms wrapped around Edward as he picks him up. "Tomorrow will be better. It's going to be alright."
Edward smiles at being picked up, snuggling into Destiny. “Yeah… yeah tomorrow will be better. Do ya gotta leave tomorrow too?” He rests his head on Destiny’s shoulder. “I hated the foster parent I ran into today…”
"I'm sorry." Destiny carries him to the kitchen and sets him down next to the sink. "I gotta go to work tomorrrow. Just a moment-" he leaves briefly to grab their toothbrushes. "Alright. Do you want to talk about them?"
Edward leans back and tucks his wings around his body. “Oh… right. Not a late workin’ day?” He hums and takes one of the toothbrushes. “I dunno, he wasn’t the worst foster parent ever. He never touched or hit me, but he said awful things.”
"It won't be a late work day if I can help it. If I'm late, it'll be because my last charge has a hard time in the evening." His part time job as a caregiver meant that his hours were variable depending on what they needed. "Words can hurt as much as blows. Verbal abuse is real."
Edward nods and sits on the counter, brushing his teeth. “Right… I mean, if they need ya don’t come rushin’ home okay? I’ll be okay.” He gives Destiny a weak smile. He sighs and looks to the side. “I guess… I just feel like it shouldn’t bother me cause I… I’ve been tortured and abused in every way ya can be… and the verbal still gets me?”
"Don't dismiss yourself like that. You are amazing and incredibly strong and it's okay if you can't deal with everything you've been through. Please don't beat yourself up, birdy."

Part of the teenage Emilia lore series - previous part here
Emilia's first week in the tower was fine, just fine. She didn't talk much, barely at all, when she did it was either smart ass comments to make herself seem less like a target or pure fear.
She locked herself in her room constantly, still not used to being out of a cell, still thinking she needs permission to, refusing to talk to anyone. The team understands that hydra habits are hard to break out of but this? This is fear, distrust, probably a trauma response.
For the first time in a week Emilia left her room, but not in the way you would think. She snuck up to the roof without anyone seeing, just watching the night sky, just thinking, processing. None of this makes sense, she doesn't trust their kindness. She's not used to it.
She watches her legs swing off the edge of the building. Finding joy in small things for the first time
Destiny did not see her at first. He got there late and she didn't know why he'd returned. He didn't stay there. He had his own house now; a family and a child. He'd changed so much since she'd known him. He locks his truck and heads for the tower.
Emilia noticed the truck from the top of the building. Not sure why that car stood out of her but she paid attention regardless. She saw Destiny step out and was slightly confused by his presence. She stands and steps away from the edge of the roof, hoping he didn’t see or hear her up there
He pulls a box from the truck and glances around before heading towards the building. She would have been safe if the moon hadn't been behind her, casting the shadow onto the ground below. He tilts his head up, calling out, "Is someone up there?"

July fourth, Steve Rogers birthday, or at least that’s what everyone says. It’s not actually, just some propaganda during the war, but now it’s when everyone thinks his birthday is, so he does celebrate. It is nice his real birthday is still private, something he can still have, so he doesn’t mind people thinking it’s today.
Steve makes his way out of the tower, dodging around people filling the streets, sparklers, confetti, parades, and of course his face plastered onto things. And as usual he’s expected to give a big speech, which he honestly doesn’t mind.
Steve smiles at a few people, glancing around for the person he’s supposed to be meeting here, he’d been busy running around all morning. Steve winces when he sees a few people carrying fireworks, he’s not looking forward to hearing those go off, while trying to act like he’s happy and celebrating his birthday. Hey!” Steve grins and waves at the person.
"Hi!!" Destiny smiles and waves back. He has a bag slung over his shoulder and a pair of noise canceling headphones in his hand. Usually he didn't work on July fourth, but he'd agreed to hang out with Steve and hopefully pull him out of the crouds if he was getting overwhelmed. "How are you doing?"

Part of the teen Emilia rescue series! Previous part here
There had always been a plan in place for Emilia’s first outing into the real world. It would be with someone trusted and she had options of where she’d like to go first. Of course she chose a wildlife park. The nature, the animals, it just made sense.
Her heart was pounding as she got ready for the day, a mix of nerves and excitement. She’s honestly not sure what to expect, what to pack. This is all just so new to her, but she feels ready.
It had been a little while since Hemlock had saved a version of Avis that still had his little brother. And truthfully, he worried about them. Seeing them in The Hotel had just cemented the idea in that he had to go visit. So after a little bit of searching and a trip to go annoy Mod into telling him where the kids are, he finds himself slowly sneaking up on Avis in fox form, and nuzzling against his legs.
- @variousvossivixens 🌹🥀
Initially, Avis does not notice, just mumbling, "not now Tigger." Clearly assuming it was just his cat bothering him. He was hunched over a desk completely focused on a stack of homework that he'd left until the last minute.
Adri was curled up on the couch, watching a tv show. His wheelchair pushed nearby and a weighted doll in his lap.
It is a fairly small kitchen, although it is clear that they tried to make it accessible for Adri, adding bars and lowering the counters. There are a few dishes on the counters and more in the sink, but overall its not overwhelming.
"Alright, well how about you start on some pasta for Adri, and if you dont feel like eating right this moment then we can give it like half an hour or so and try again. Maybe go on a walk or something to work up your appetite."
Avis blinks. "Okay. I can do that." He gives Hemlock a little smile, padding around the kitchen to make pasta. "Are you really really going to come every single tuesday?"
"Would I lie to you, kit?" He starts washing up the dishes. "I promise, every Tuesday. Adri says he has water therapy then? Perhaps we can see about scheduling you some tutoring then to help with your schoolwork while I take Adri to that, then I'll come back here and help you with whatever you need in the evening."
"...you don't think I'm good enough of my own?" His voice wavers between feeling betrayed and relieved that he wasn't being held to the standards he'd set for himself. "Will Adri be okay with out me?"
"Its not about being good enough, its about the fact that sometimes we all need a little help. You cant be an expert at everything and I am admittedly not the greatest teacher." He nods. "Yeah, I think Adri will be just fine with me. I'll take good care of him, I promise."
"If he gets scared you will call me, right?" He stares at the bubbling pot of water for a moment before adding pasta to it. "Do you think we have to have sauce tonight or is just pasta okay?"
"Of course I will. Anything to make him as happy and comfortable as possible." He tilts his head. "If you dont want sauce then I dont see any need for it. Butter sauce is just as good as any other kind."
"Thanks." He scurries off to help Adri up. It takes a little while. Waking up and getting out of bed is hard for the tweenager.
"Uncle Voss is still here," Avis promises, helping Adri struggle down the hall. Adri yawns but smiles when he sees Hemlock. Avis helps him over to the table, then heads over to the cupboards to grab painkiller for him.
Avis brings over a cup with a straw along with the meds. "Adri isn't very good at talking when he's in pain. The therapist says it gets put on the back burner so his mind can focus on other things."
Avis sits down next to him to help him with the medication. "Shh. It's quiet time right now," he whispers. "'dri will be okay once the painkillers kick in."
Hemlock nods, giving Avis a thumbs up to show he understands. Then, more out of curiosity he signs 'About how long does that take?' Partially cause he wants to know, but mostly just to see if this version of Destiny knows ASL, or if that's just something his Destiny knows because of Karma.
Avis stares, then whispers, "I don't know asl that well." He serves pasta onto a plate and puts it in front of Adri, holding the edge of the dish so that they wouldn't accedentaly knock it off the table. "You don't gotta sign."
He shrugs then speaks directly in Avis's mind instead. "Thats okay, I was more just curious if you knew it at all. Its a useful skill, but not an essential one."
Avis starts, then relaxes again, slighlty adjusting the plate to help Adri. He doesn't answer, just stares at Hemlock as if he could communicate with his eyes.
He puts a hand over his mouth to hide his laugh at the expression Avis is giving him, then shifts into female form and speaks again in their mind. "Telepathy is only one way when I'm in masculine form. Did you want me to read your thoughts?"
Avis shakes his head and Adri nods. At this point, a middle aged woman reaches the kitchen and immidutly grabs for a bread knife, pointing it at Hemlock. "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?!"
"Sorry..." He shrinks back, returning to his masculine form. "Didn't mean to scare you..." He takes another step back when the woman comes in. "Um- hi. I'm Voss. Was just visiting the kits... Avis asked me to come." Very awkward.
She glances at Avis who nods slowly. "He's Uncle Voss. He's the one who saved me. He's not scary. He just startled us by doing a magic trick we weren't expecting."
Adri whimpers, too out of it to deal with all of this changing and people. He slides off the chair, hiding under the table.
She switches which hand the knife is in, but does not put it down as she shakes Hemlock's hand. "I'm happy to meet you, although I do request that next time you let me know sooner."
He flushes slightly and nods. "Of course. I uh- wasnt really sure what their living situation has been like so it didnt really occur to me to meet their guardian... which sounds really stupid when I say it aloud..."
She lets out a breath and nods, finally putting down the knife. "Sorry for the knife. My husband is out of town and I'm a little jumpy. Would you like some dinner? Where is Adri?"
"Completely understandable. Though, your grip was a little off for a good stab, next time you threaten someone with a kitchen knife make sure you put your thumb here instead of here." Gestures with his own hand. Then he crouches down to the floor and tilts his head at Adri, tone softening. "Down here... I scared him with my shifting on accident... Hey kit... ready to come out?"
"I'm very sorry kit, but ya gotta come out... if you dont your brothers gonna eat all the pasta himself..." He says lightly. He knows if his sisters ate his food it would get him up quick, so he hopes it'll be the same for Adri.
Avis jumps and moves back, looking guilty. The woman puts her face in her hands and sighs. "No, Avis, it's fine. He's joking. Please eat some of the pasta. Adri? Are you scared? Do you want a hug?"
He frowns, biting his lip. He's not nearly as good with younger kids as his brother is, he wishes he knew what to say to help or make this better. Instead he's quiet, looking to the stranger who seems to know what shes doing.
Adri chooses the hug, crawling to her arms and curling up against her, sucking on his thumb. Avis does not go back to eating and instead turns to clean up the dishes he created making the pasta. The woman hums, rocking back and forth, holding Adri tight.
He stands to help Avis. "Kit, you know I was joking, right? Just trying to get your brother up... you should eat more. I can make more pasta if needed. Sorry."
He mumbles something, slipping out of the room. The woman watches him go with an expression of silent defeat. After a moment, she comments, "can you believe that kid used to hord food? Now it's a constant battle to get him to eat."
He sighs. "Oh I can imagine... sorry, I wasnt thinking. Shouldn't have said that. I thought- well I guess I just have a very different dynamic with my siblings..."
"I could tell. We'll just have to try again later. You ready to eat food, Adri?"
Adri nods, seeming to be doing much better. She helps him up and into a padded chair. As she buckles him in, he smiles and starts talking about his afternoon, mostly about Hemlock.
He smiles, glad that Adri at least is in good spirits. Maybe if he just gives it a little time he'll be able to get Avis to eat something other then coffee and energy drinks too.
She stays at Adri's side, helping him whenever he seems to be getting frustrated with his attempts to get the food from the table to his mouth. At some point through the conversation, she glances up, "Tuesdays, huh?"
He watches intently, wanting to know the best way to help with this. It her words he tilts his head. "Huh? Oh- uh- yeah. Tuesdays. If thats okay? I told them I'd help and... I'm not great at vague non-specific dates... and I'd hate to dissappear again and not show up for years or something."
"That's fine. Adri seems excited and I'm sure Avis would love to not have to go to water therapy. I think he finds the pool overwhelming." Adri nods in agreement, almost knocking the plate off the table. She catches it with one hand, putting it back on the table and gently grabbing his hand.
She laughs. "Mom reflexes. Comes with having kids. You done, sweetheart? Alright, let me help you." She crouches to unbuckle him and help Adri to the floor, giving him a kiss on the forehead before standing up. "Okay. Avis is probably okay for now, you're okay... I'm going to go take a shower now before it gets any later, alright? I hope you don't mind, Voss."
"Sounds like a plan!" She heads down the hall, pausing to speak quietly with Avis who was apparently sitting outside the kitchen. He comes in afterwards, sitting down next to Adri.
"Hi Uncle Voss. Hi, Adri, you ready for bed now?"
"No." Adri flops. "I'm hanging out with Uncle Voss in case he needs anything."
He smiles in amusement, endeared by the sweetness of the child's statement. "I dont think I'm gonna need anything for a while, its okay to head to bed if you're ready. I know its been a long day."
Adri gives in with a giggle, letting Avis help him to the bedroom. It takes awhile to get through all of the bedtime work even after their mom gets out of the shower and goes to help them. Finally, Avis comes out, lugging the remainder of his schools books and homework and sets them on the kitchen table.
"I'll be there in just a minute," she promises, heading down the hall.
"Alright, thats fine. Is there anything else I can do for you? Might make some chili... would you like that?" Hemlock does not like to cook. Anything he knows how to make he learned with a purpose. He learned to make eggs to prove he could cook. He learned beef wellington to win a bet. And he learned one specific chilli recipe because he knows its Destinys favorite.
The mother, who he later learned was named Margaret, sat with Avis and helped him through the homework. It took a couple hours, but the distraction meant that Avis didn't even realize that they'd tricked him into eating chili.
Destiny is just going about his day, walking around, when he suddenly gets grabbed and dragged through the nearest door. When he realizes what has happened he finds himself in a room he vaguely remembers being in once before, Hemlocks bedroom. The kitsune holding him is shaking, burying his face in Destinys shoulder and wrapping his tails around them. "S-sorry..."
- @whiteliesblacklips 🥀🌹
Destiny yelps, startled and momentarly afraid. The moment he realizes who it is, he relaxes some what, wrapping his arms tightly around Hemlock and nuzzling him. "Hey- Hey, babydoll...what happened? Are you alright?"
He finishes his own meal before he speaks up, but just as Destiny predicted he does relent to asking again. "Could- You just- you make me feel safe..." He stares at his lap, fidgeting. "Sorry- Its stupid- I just want- like- a guard..."
"Now? While you shower? Do you want me armed? I can make a gun." Destiny reaches out, putting a hand on his arm. "Hemlock. There is nothing to be ashamed of."
"Thank you, so much... showers just- very vulnerable. I feel better with you around. ...I wouldnt complain about you being armed..." He leans against them.
"You know what?" They lean over and kiss his cheek. "I promise you are not the only one who finds showering very vulnerable and needs someone to stand guard. It's okay. Farthermore, it's an excuse for me to practice using storm to build stuff. "
"Thank you. I love you." He takes Destinys hand, heading back toward the bedrooms, and pulling him into a bathroom. Its a nice bathroom with a glass shower, but someone had painted over it on the outside so you cant see through the glass. He locks the door behind them.
Destiny sits down on the edge of the bathroom sink with the ease of someone who had done this many times before. "So. Possible conversation topics include, canibilism, ancient horses, and fucked up biology of the human body. Any preferences?"
"Well, the first horses which aren't really horses, were about the size of a dog, lived in forests and hade toes. Not as many as we have of course. I think it was like three toes? They didn't need to move dreadful quickly because they could hide in the forest, but as more flat ground appeared, speed became the best way to avoid predators, which is part of the reason for them loosing their toes."
Mod recently went on a mission to rescue assets from a hydra facility. On this mission, while reuniting parents with children, one stood out from the rest. A small Russian boy. During the rescue, he seemed practically glued to Mod. Not wanting to leave his side.
When it came time to send him home, he seemed scared of the idea of returning to his parents. Frantically stating that he doesn't want to go back. So, Mod saw no choice but to return home with him.
Upon taking the child home he realized he had no idea how to care for a child. He lived alone with a talking sword, that pretty much had its own life but that was besides the point. He had no idea what he was doing. So he called up a friend that did know what they were doing.
"Des. It's me. I need help. It will be easier to explain in person."
Destiny took fourty-five minutes to be free enough to drop by Mod's house. His janky old pickup truck was hilariously out of place compared to the cars usually parked on the street. He hurries up the steps, his tool bag slung over one shoulder, and bangs on the door.
Mod opens the door. "Thanks for coming. So.. uh.." Mod struggles to think of what to say before a small child waddles up to the door before hugging Mod's leg.
"Ah?" Destiny glances between them. "And you need my help with him? With most I'd assume you were asking me to help teach him english, but you speak Russian just fine."
“I uh.. I don’t know how to raise a kid. I’m not exactly father material. I don’t know what kids like. I.. I’m just a little lost.” He scratches his neck.
"Ah...." Destiny bites his lip. "Right. Yeah, I'd love to help. Um... I can pick up some books and look more into it. He'll need therapy whether or not his childhood was traumatic. Change is. Um..."
“He um.. most of the reason he’s here is cus his parents.. they aren’t the best..” He tries to put it in delicate terms. “He clung to me the second I let him out of the cell. I tried to ask him about his parents. He said that his parents were mean. I don’t really know what he means by that. But I don’t want to risk taking him back to a potentially abusive household.”
"Okay." He shifts his weight. "Defenitly therapy. Have you talked with him about it? Does he understand that he's staying with you? Where he is? Transitioning is going to be very difficult at his age. Especially the change of language. I'd suggest you continue to speak Russian to him so he doesn't feel like he can't communicate with you."
“Yeah. I told him all about that stuff before I took him home. Uh.. yeah. I mostly speak Russian with him. He’s not much of a talker. Mostly just clings to me.” Mod says.
“Well. I need help with babysitting. You are the only person really trust with this. I still need to go to work and stuff. I can’t just quit my job. Well.. I could but that’s beside the point.”
"Oh. Yeah, I can do that. Is it okay if I get to know him and then see if he'll come with me while you're working so I can still run errands and the like?"
Destiny crouches down to be on eye level with Viktor, putting on his friendlyist smile. He keeps his posture unthreatening and calm.
"Hi Viktor. I'm Destiny. I'm one of Mod's friends. I really like kids and I can speak Russian, so he would like it if we could hang out while he works. Would that be okay with you?"

If someone told a younger version of Sienna, that marrying the love of her life at that time, would cause a ripple affect.
She wouldn't have believed it. Especially the way her life has spiralled out of controll, especially at those words when she herself was on the verge of death.
'We can reunite you two.'
And thus taking the hand of a mad scientist obsessed with making the man she loved into the perfect weapon- sealed her fate.
It's probably why now she was dressed in a black business attire. A pencil skirt to go with the top. Her curls were smoothed back into a ponytail. Sharp eyes scanning the court room as she was aware why she was on trial.
The Unites States Government vs. Sienna Gianna Giovanni-Barnes. Legally that was her name still.
Her hands twitched a bit as she eyes her favorite lawyer. Who went out of his blind way to make sure he could represent her. This idiot.
Matt leans over as he whispers in her ear. "They're only using you to get to him. That's it... They don't have much against you..."
She didn't wanna hear that. She slowly looks back to the crowd to see her loved ones there. Knowing that more of her past, one she tried to keep sealed up and burned-
Was gonna be on the stand.
Especially on stand before five judges appointed to her case.
The main issue they were bringing up that James had luckily on his side. Unlike him, she wasn't brainwashed. She was fully aware of her past in Hydra, she was fully willing, to an extent, a participant in Hydra.
Her eyes narrows as the judges walked in, all rising and then sitting as told so. She smooths her skirt out as she was fidgeting again, this was gonna be a lot.
Many had been asked to be witnesses. Many had accepted, some were personality traits to even being there in the history of her past.
Destiny- No, wait, today he was Avis. Avis Rook. He was ready to ruin his own reputation for the sake of his unofficial adoptive mother. They'd refused to wear a suit, despite how much the lawyer insisted it would make a better impression.
He flashes Sienna his signature sunshine smile from across the room, where he waited his turn to take the stand.
He stands up, smiling to mask any nerves as he hurries up to swear in and take the stand. First, to explain how he is related to the case, he explains how she took him in when he first arrived in America, momentarly skipping the part where he'd been fleeing from Hydra.
Matt smiles as he took the first bit. Walking over with his cane as he sighs. "Avis Rook. I think we should get this out the way." He taps his cane. "How did you first meet Sienna? Remember nothing will be held against you in the court."
"The very first time? Ah... I think it was at my fifteenth birthday. We didn't really talk though. She didn't talk to anyone." Still not directly saying where. Waiting for Matt to directly ask him to say.
"She wasn't allowed to speak, no. They didn't want her to have any power. I don't think she was exactly hidden." Sienna knows him well enough to recognize his slight struggle as he gets to the next part. He doesn't want to think about the objectification she went through. "She was always with one of the officers. She's pretty."
The judge held a hand. "Matt, to the point please."
Matt sighs as he walks back towards Sienna at the desk. "Only reason this matters. Avis, said they met when he was fifteen. A fifteen year old, who's pointing out one thing. How was subjected to acts, usually only between adults. And yet, we have someone who at the time was a child. Is already hinting that she was nothing more then, pretty. A body to these men." He held a hand on the table.
Matt nods his head as he walks back to the stand. "Can you tell me, more about these parties. Maybe that'll help the court understand a bit more of the situation."
Avis shifts his weight, now clearly uncomfortable. "Y-yes. There were plenty of parties. I think they were... Well, they were... That is-" he looks over at Sienna, reminding himself why he was here. "There were a few different kinds of parties. The one we met at was my birthday party, so that was unique. Usually parties were either away of forming new connections or just a paraid of power. I mean, what better way to show how much control you have then to subjigate and humiliate incredibly powerful p- assets?"
"I don't know what you are asking for..." His voice drops and he digs his nails into his palms. "I mean, they were for the officers to enjoy themselves as well?"
He swallows. "Uh... Alcohol. Occasionally drugs, but that was looked down upon. S-" he takes a sharp breath. "Sex. Usually between high level officer's and assets or lower basic agents."
"Does that-" he catches himself and takes a deep breath. Short answers. He was supposed to give short and to the point answers. "No, I wouldn't say so."
Matt nods his head. "Your honor, no further questions." He walked back as he sat down with Sienna. Who was nervous still, worried for her sons mental state.
The prosecutor stood up as she walks over. "Avis. How long have you been close to Sienna?"
Avis grips the edge of the desk, trying not to lash out and scream at her. It felt so obvious to him that his mom wasn't the problem. "That wasn't a question. Do you have a question?"
"Why do you cling to a woman, who clearly has done wrong in those halls? She attended multiple parties after parties. Going and going, doing whatever they needed. Even acts of sex mind you, in front of children. I don't see why, you would cling to a woman that badly. Unless it's not what it seems." The lawyer tried to paint this narrative.
"That not a- I CLING TO HER BECAUSE SHE SAVED ME." He slams his hands against the wood, leaning forward. "You are twisting my words! Was it not clear that she did not always have a choice? Especially in the last few years when she tried to leave and was punished for it? Yes she did part take in acts of sex in front of children, because she was offering herself instead of those children! Within those halls, she was known for standing between the officers and the children."
Sienna shakes her head. She herself didn't understand. Gently she runs her fingers through his hair. "Because all they see is crimes...nothing else...."
Sienna frowns as she squeezed her son tight. "I love you Des.... Thank you for coming in to talk today..." She sighs as she lets him go sit with his sisters in pews. Her eyes shimmer as the rest of the case continues on-
Eventually one by one the girls went up even. Isabella wasn't asked since she was too small to remember anything.
Eventually as the three day trial was concluding. Sienna was quiet as they wanted for the jury to deliver the verdict. She sat with the kids for a second as she ruffles their hair. "We'll be okay...you all did so amazing...."
Destiny curls into her, closing his eyes. "I don't want to loose you again," he whispers. He knew only caring about how he'd feel was selfish, but it was all he could think about at the moment.
Because I had more ideas than just the wings. So we changing the mutantion and doing angst.
Avis didn't stay in one place very long. It was an itch. One his mother felt as well. The need to move, to find something new and leave the ghosts of mistakes behind. This was the biggest move yet. They'd left Russia to seek refuge in America. Leaving behind any evedence of who they were so they could start with a clean slate. It wouldn't stay clean for very long.
He'd been doing something, although he couldn't remember quite much. Was it school? The mall? The library? It didn't matter when all he could see was the wavering walls promising visions he didn't want to have and the blurred figures that could have been living or dead.
He swallows. The halls were empty. Or at least, he couldn't see anyone other than the shades. They'd been packed a moment ago. He wasn't sure if he'd been pulled fully into the After or if he was just seeing it.
Evan wasn't exactly sure where he was either. BLOODLET had dropped him off somewhere - God only knows where - after forcing It's way to the front of his face. He should've just let Jet tie him down, he'd rather have rope burn then be lost again.
So he walked. Walked again, and walked some more. Ignored the persistent nosebleed - he didn't like this shirt anyway - and the pressure-with-teeth behind his eyes that distorted everything into odd angles and proportions.
Avis rolls onto his toes, then down again, staring at the flickering man. Had he replied? He wasn't sure, but the man hadn't continued speaking, so maybe not.
"I am. Are you?" Perhaps not the best answer, but Avis was still questioning how realistic it was to assume that the first thing to speak was alive or sentient. Lots of things mimiced human speach in the Before, so why not in the After?
"I'm-" Sure. Fine. That worked. He worked with Morgan middle name Vagueness Gonzago, and his best friend was possessed by a guy who only spoke in riddles. He could work with that.
"I'm Eva-" A sudden fit of coughs cut him off, racking his body for a moment before he straightened up. "I'm Evan. And I-" He glanced around, eyes throbbing as the world stretched.
"Huh." He bounces onto his toes. Which was harder than it looked. The world felt heavy as if the air had been replaced with jello. "It's the After, I think. But not the afterlife. No one is alive here. You must be dead."
Normally, he'd panic, maybe freak out until he passed out, nose bleeding all over the floor, but he was always left with this fuzzy feeling of not-being-something after BLOODLET left him,one that made him one hell of a yesman.
"Kind of." He looks around again, trying to decide the next course of action. He'd never run into someone in here before. Or at least, not someone who spoke so clearly.
"You're not one for answers, are you?" It came out snarkier than he intended, but he really didn't care. He was cold, lost, tired, and covered in blood. And he wanted his girlfriend.
"How do I get out of here? Not that I'm not... Enjoying this."
There is no feeling quite like speeding along an empty road into the evening light, radio cranked up, windows down. Just you, the music, and the fading sunlight. Unfortuanlty, your enjoyment of the drive is cut off by a siren and a set of flashing lights informing you that you are not alone on this road.
The officer strolls up to your window, and leans a hand against the top of the car. "Good evening. Got a little carried away, did we?"
This was just her luck, wasn't it. Morgan was, God forbid, trying to get home before dark after a shitty trip to Florida. Was that a crime?
She drew a deep breath in, holding and then releasing it, tension hissing out of her shoulders. The last thing she needed was more trouble with the law. Or for them to look a little too close at her license and find out that Gonzago, Morgan Elizabeth was a missing person.
She cranked down the radio, some alt rock station playing faintly in the background, before she put on her best customer service smile.
"Right. I get the temptation, but I'm going to have to ask you to follow the speed limit even if you're in a hurry." He gives her a friendly smile in an attempt to negate whatever automatic hatred she had of him and his job. "Could I see license and registration?"
He looks over her registration, the checks her license, writing something down on a yellow note. As he does this, he comments, "new around here, aren't you?"
Open Roleplay Non-Hydra/Cage Fighter AU [tw for violence & manipulation]
Most people knew her as Viper. That was the callsign she'd been assigned in the cages, anyway, and it was her technique whenever she fought - strike hard and strike fast. She moved from cage to cage, leaving a trail of defeated opponents in her wake. Losses were few and far between. She'd been fighting for years, ever since she'd been picked up at thirteen by her... manager.
It had been a rough week of fighting. A few days prior, she'd pulled her shoulder in a fight and hadn't exactly been given the proper time to rest after resetting it. As of now, Valerie stands outside in the cold night air, sweat clinging to her. She's in the break between fights - best out of three against another well-known fighter. Lots of money on her to win, but... she lost her second fight, and bad.
The person approaching her just catches the end of her manager's rant. "I don't keep you around here to watch you lose fights. You want to go back to where I found you?" He'd shoved her back. "You better have your shit together before you come back inside for the next round."
Valerie lights a cigarette and leans back against the jagged brick wall, side eyeing the person who approaches. "What?" She snaps.
They flash her a bright smile and wave. Officially, their callsign was Ghost, but more often, and more mockingly, they were the Sunshine Boy for their unbreakable smile and bubbly attitude.
"Hi!!" He waves excitedly. "I just learned that we're pared up next and I'm super excited! You're like awesome famous!"
Valerie looks surprised by the bright smile and the wave. People didn't tend to be so bubbly here. She lowers her cigarette. "Hi," she greets slowly. "You must be Ghost. I've heard about you... thanks."
"The one and the only!" He does a dramatic bow. They stand up again, smiling and tilting their head. "And you are Viper. You lost the last round. That's crazy because usually you win. I know because I like to watch your fights."
Valerie is faintly bemused by their dramatics. "How old are you?" She asks him. She's twenty-two, but she's been doing this a long time. She nods, though prickly at the reminder of her loss. "Well my shoulder is still--" Winners don't give excuses, girl, "--It doesn't matter. I won't lose the next."
"Old? I don't really know. Gotta be young forever." They laugh, tipping their head like a broken marionette. "Oh dear. Don't tell me what your weakness is. I do have to try after all."
"Young forever, huh? Wouldn't that be nice." She watches, intrigued by their strange behaviour. She chuckles. "Kid, it could be the only place you hit me and I still won't let you win.'
"Don't get too cocky! You might get humbled." They bobble back and forth, seeming incapable of sitting still for more than a couple seconds, their pale blue eyes following her face and every movement closely.
Valerie chuckles. "Yeah, maybe." She stamps out her cigarette, since she has to go back inside for their fight soon. "...you really need the outlet, huh?"
They roll onto their toes, stretching out their arms, also preparing to head back in their own way. "What's that supposed to mean?" They tip their head again, still in that almost uncanny way that didn't feel quite real.

Testing Emilia’s powers (the ability to alter the course of moving objects)
Part of the teen Emilia rp series! Previous part here
Emilia is still deciding whether or not this avengers thing is for her, still easing into everything. She’s been hearing stories about missions, about the people they help. Sitting in on training to see how it all works. She wants to use her skills for good, she’s just not sure if she’s ready to go out on an actual mission yet.
Now the team wants to test her powers and skills. They're trying to make sure the testing isn't triggering for her considering she only just left hydra months before. They briefed her before she came in.
She can stop or take breaks whenever she needs to and if she gets scared or emotional she has to stop and get water and not just bottle it up and push forward. She tries to remind herself
She stands in the corner of the training room nervously. She's wearing hand me down black tracksuit pants and an oversized black t-shirt as she didn't necessarily bring gym wear with her when she was rescued from hydra. She fidgets with the handles of the knives nervously, waiting to be told what to do.
Destiny waves. He'd been out of town for awhile. Apparently he had a kid and they'd been hospitalized or something. She had gotten frustratingly little information as to why he wasn't available.
He lets her go, pulling back to take her in. "Sorry, Em- I'm just so excited to see you again! Oh! I'm forgetting what we're doing here. They said you've been training?"
She nods softly “a little bit” she switched to Russian, her voice dropping to a whisper “scared I’ll do something wrong or they’ll hurt me” she admits softly, still used to how training worked in HYDRA
He nods, moving in front of her and resting his forehead against hers. "They will not hurt you. You can do everything wrong and no one will hurt you. Besides. I will be here the whole time. I will not let you get hurt ever again. I promise."
She nods softly, believing him “do you trust them?” She asks softly, looking around the training room subtly, nervously. “They said I can take breaks but I don’t know if I believe them”
She giggles softly before looking around again, a lot more calm this time “Is there something we have to do first?” She’s not sure if there’s a set plan for seeing what her abilities are or if she gets to choose
She wraps her arms around herself, taking that as she has to choose. She never really had much choice in Hydra, she’s not used to it. She shoots Destiny a look, not sure where to start

Edward had never felt right in his skin, like something was wrong with him, but whenever he mentioned it people would just laugh and say he’d grow into himself. But he never had, he always felt… wrong. Like his body wasn’t his own.
Edward paces around his room, he knows this isn’t who he is, but he’s terrified to tell anyone. Not after being mocked so many times. But he’s decided, he’s going to tell someone, maybe… maybe this time it’ll be different.
Edward startles when the door opens. “Hey-” He chokes out, taking a deep breath. “I gotta tell ya somethin’.” He decides to just go for it- “I don’t think I’m a boy-”
"Okay?" Destiny stares for a moment, battling between his genuine care for Edward and the engrained teachings from being raised in good old Russia. "...any particular reason for that?"
Edward looks down nervously, they twist a hand into their hair. “I… I don’t feel like a boy, I’m not-” Edward takes a shuddering breath, flinching back from Destiny and tucking their arms around themself. “I’m a girl…”
Edward shakes her head nervously. “But what if they all hate me? And hurt me- I can’t…” She shakes her head, hugging herself. “You probably don’t want me anymore- I’m sorry…”
It's not illegal if the government is aware of it and allows it to happen. At least, that's what HYDRA reasoned. The gang was not secretive at all. They payed their taxes to the government with the money made by selling children.
Officer fits paced in front of the children, his boots crunching in the snow. Finally he stops in front of a little boy who looked at least somewhat healthy. He grabs the boy's chin, jerking his face up. "Name and age?"
"A-avis, sir. Um, 13. I think." The boy was trembling, although whether it was from the cold or from fear was impossible to tell.
Fits strikes him across the face, electing a soft whimper from the kid. "You think? I don't want to know what you think, I want facts." He turns back to the trader with a curl of his lip. "I'll take this one."
The boy stares at the ground trying not to cry as he is unchained from the rest. Everyone had heard the rumors of what happened to the children Hydra bought. Rumors that were only made more real by the fact that they kept coming back. As if the other children disappeared.
Fits turns to the person behind him. "Get this thing inside and cleaned up."
Charlie nodded and grabbed the kid by the back of his collar. She was only nineteen. In any other universe she had gotten away from her parents years ago. But this wasn't one of those. She could be considered a lucky child in HYDRA, raised by scientists, taught in the halls and gently placed into a comfortable position out of high school. That didn't mean she was gentle.
She pulled the boy inside the building. It was warm. Melt the cold right out of your bones warm. Charlie pulled off her winter coat and hung in on the hook by the door before pulling the boy into the bathroom. She wet a cloth in the sink and bent down, roughly sponging the dirt off his face. "Don't speak to Officer Fits, or anyone unless they speak to you." She stood up and filled the sink with water. "When was the last time you washed your hair?"
The boy stumbles, struggling to keep up on frostbitten feet. It was odd the difference between them. A world of difference simply because one was born so far down the power chain. He bites his tongue as the warmth hits him. It hurts, the sudden change, although he is grateful for it.
He nods, unsure if her first statement needed a reply. The question was a relief. It was clear he was supposed to answer. "I don't re-" the memory of the slap stung fresh in his mind. "-A couple months ago?"
Charlie nodded and grabbed a pair of hair scissors, running her hands through his hair. Her hands were warm, they had been tucked away and protected from the cold. They left trails of quickly fading warmth as they grabbed and prodded his scalp. She pondered the dirty hair for a moment before attacking. Her clips were precise and rough, taking off a bulk if his hair in merciless cuts.
"You're a bit older than usual." She commented as she worked. Her presence a twisted type of calming. Like a rock in the middle of the rapids, solid and existing there but not at all welcome. "Don't answer that. It was rhetorical."
He bites his lip to hold back tears. The scissors felt like another way of stripping everything he knew from him. His mother had loved his hair. Said it was like sunshine. Not that it appeared gold anymore, being matted and dirty.
At her comment, he opens his mouth, then snaps it shut at the second note. Instead, he focuses on counting the number of bolts he could see in the walls.
Charlie ruffled his uneven hair and considered it for a moment before grabbing the shaver from the counter top. The guard at least left a few centimetres of hair but not enough to count. The final remainders of his hair drifted to the floor.
"How tall are you?" She stepped away and regarded him, her gaze critical. "That wasn't rhetorical." Her hand brushed over her own carefully gelled back hair.
"I- I don't-" he cringes away, resisting the urge to bring his hands up to his head. It felt so bare without his usual curly locks. His voice drops and he looks at the floor, bracing for a blow, "I don't know."
