john getting up late in the morning and finding sherlock already at the table reading his emails in pyjamas and dressing gown, looking incongruously soft-edged and sharp-minded at once, kissing him good morning on the temple, sherlock tilting his mouth up even as he keeps reading his emails so john can kiss him proper on the lips. sherlock’s mouth tasting like honey on toast and milky tea and morning, john, in a way that sounds like, hullo, i’ve been waiting for you, quiet and pleased, still a tiny bit shy even after all this time, and john doesn’t mean to really but he keeps kissing sherlock, until sherlock’s abandoned the emails and turned in his chair to hold john close with two big hands on his waist, until they’re sort of kissing and sort of smiling and sort of whispering to each other all at once, teasing and giggling, sneaking in kiss after kiss after good morning kiss
