Imagine coming back home from a long day at work. Your back and shoulders are sore, your head throbbing and your legs ache from your gruelling shift. But all that pain seems to cease the minute you step inside your apartment. The door to your apartment creaks open and there sat in front of the door is a little angel.
A sweet mutt sat politely with his knees tucked in under his butt and he lets out a little shriek at the sight of you. His eyes water a little and his lips quiver into a cute, silly upturned smile. He sits in front of your door like an obedient dog waiting for his owner.
He pants shakily as he wobbles on his knees to grab your attention, pawing at your thighs. The tension seems to already be wearing off as you bend down to pet his brown-magenta hair. Little giggles bounce around the corridor to your entryway. His curly locks tangle around your fingers as you thread through them, passively scratching his scalp gently. He whines from your touch as his cheeks warm up, soft and pliant in your embrace as he nuzzles his face into your stomach. So cute!
"Have you been a good boy today, 'Lexis?"
He nods frantically as he chases your hand for attention, urging you to give him more pets.
"I've cleaned my room, did the laundry and made the preparations for dinner." He gleamed. "Then I waited here for your return, meine dame."
A low groan is heard from the other side of your apartment and you glance up to see the mess of your home. A few clothes are strewn on the floor, discarded like trash and a whiff of a musky scent wafts throughout the room.
In the dimness of your apartment, only a few warmly lit lamps illuminate the feline lazed on his back on your bed, rubbing his back in a languid manner. He quirks an eye in your direction, seeing you come closer with ness clinging to your side like a baby koala.
"Oh? What's this? The tomcat's been mischievous today, hm?
The cat boy sinks further into the comfy sheets on your bed with your fluffy pillows as he pulls the sheets up to his chin. He only gives you a whine of complaint and ignores your scolding.
This is a common practice when you come home from work. It's just what happens when you live with a bratty kitty and a clingy puppy.
"Michael, have you done anything noteworthy today?"
Your voice drips with a condescending tone and it makes him shrivel like a sunken leaf.
The way you refer to Ness using a pet name and Kaiser with his real name makes a sick feeling twist in his stomach.
You huff out a sigh and bend down to clean up the mess of clothes and random objects lying on the ground. You bring his garments to your nose and it crinkles with concern. The tomcat grumbling in your bed seemed to be nearing his heat cycle. That's why he was a lot more quiet and less bratty than usual. He was still being whingey though.
"Lexis, baby? Have you started dinner yet? I'm famished."
"I'll start right away, madam!" he squeaked. And you chuckle softly to yourself as you see him scurry away like a little mouse.
You immediately turn your attention to the boy that's now eyeing you intensely.
"Micha." you sigh as you sit next to him on the bed. He seams to relax when he hears your familiar and gentle tone that he craves for so dearly.
But he still doesn't give an answer and instead becomes wary of your close proximity.
"Micha. You should've told me you were nearing your cycle. I could've helped you out. You just spent the entire day here in bed whilst Ness was doing all the chores." you tried to reason.
He seems a bit guilty but that familiar bratty glint in his eyes tells you he's holding a grudge. And he won't surrender without a fight.
"I don't know what you're talking about." he huffs indignantly.
"Michael Kaiser." you warn.
He shrivels when you use his full government name.
You sigh and pull his shoulder to make him look at you but your eyes widen in surprise.
Your first instinct is to coo and comfort him but you hold back because you know you'll have to wean him off from coddling him.
"You'll need to use your words, baby. I can't help you if you don't tell me what you need."
He has his back to you and he stays there for a while, sniffling to himself. But slowly, he turns towards you and with gleaming eyes, pleads you for your attention.
"I- I want your touch. Just touch me." He rubs his eyes and pouts finally letting go of his ego with a big huff of exhaustion.
You grin with pride and pull his head to rest on your chest, threading your fingers through his blonde and blue streaked locks.
"I'll make it up to you later, alright. Just keep being a good boy f'me, yeah?"
A shiver runs down his spine at the pet name and he nods his head gingerly.
"Let's have some dinner, Ness must be waiting for us."
