DJ Shadow was kicked off stage by his own promoters at a Miami house club, apparently because his set was "too future" (in Shadow's words). Could be a mad publicity stunt, could be a horrendous booking error where the club and promoter expected danceable house, or maybe Shadow's set was a bit too wacky. Not to denigrate the early part of the set, but it does get more listenable after twenty minutes.
Wuthering Heights, slowed right down so it stretches to 36 minutes long, is surprisingly listenable. I was pleased to discover that Kate Bush's website is titled "Fish People".
I hear that rockabilly was the punk of the '50s.

David Lynch.
This track might be old news at this point, but figured it was worth posting since it seems to be getting some radio play in the UK now, and it's a blast. Features some quality swearing, and some great dancing that even the most awkward hipster could aspire to.

It's taken 30 years, but technology has finally advanced far enough that I can retire my View Master.

Amazingly complex solo sound from bass saxophonist Colin Stetson (also known for playing with Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, and others).

William only listens to Siriusmo at the moment.
This dubsteppy goodness is all for your Kenny. Yes, there are dinosaurs. Animated dinosaurs. Things get squashed and stomped and sliced. Strangely tense cartoon action from 16bit. www.myspace.com/16bitmusic
His stage name might be an annoying spoonerism, but Com Truise produces some decent synthy electro. This video attempts to cram as many iconic cultural references to 80s futurism as it can into 5 minutes. If you like all this 80s revival you'll probably enjoy the video. If you're sick to death of all this faux nostaliga (haven't people been lazily riding this wave for 10 years now?), you might still be impressed at how neatly this video sums up your annoyances.
Well, this is straight ripped-off-mtv-hits bullshit video quality that hardly even matches up with the song but I'll be fucked if this isn't pretty much the best thing ever anyway.
How the bloody hell did I miss the return of the Parisian dance duo Justice?! Anyway, nice change in my usual song choice. Less Swedish Folk Pop Psychedelica Barnyard Prog and more FRENCH ELECTRO ROCK POP BABY!!

Jim Henson (September 24, 1936 - May 16, 1990)
And since I'll probably forget I have a Tumblr account in the next few weeks again, here's another tune - Michael Kiwunak with a laid-back video for the song "Im Getting Ready". Enjoy!
