2. if din gets in a bed with blankets does he remove his armor and get under the covers or lay on top of the blankets like he’s in prison
3. does din miss being a child and getting snuggled up under a big comfy blanket without any armor
4. is din completely unable to sleep unless theres beskar digging into his skin
5. is din ever scared one of his five billion worn weapons will be set off in his sleep
6. Would there ever be circumstances that would permit din to remove his armor (save for the helmet of course), take off the flight suit, and put on a set of satin pajamas and sleep under a big fluffy comforter.
7. when was the last time din slept in an actual bed that wasnt the cot on the crest or his twin sized mattress on nevarro
8. Does he have sciatica from sleeping in chairs/sitting up
You got me thinking... Does Din own a blanket? Does Din own anything besides weapons, armor, and tools to repair his ship?
Ended up with a li'l character study of the cabin on Nevarro. Sharing because, why not!
-
In the kitchen, there are two plates. Two bowls. Two cups for drinking. One is sized for tiny hands.
A cupboard keeps clothes neat and dust-free. He owns three shirts: one to wear, one to change into, and one extra for days when sweat or blood soaks through. There are three pairs of leggings and three flightsuits in the same rotation. One pair of soft trousers for days in hyperspace--or, now, times when he doesn't need to leave the cabin.
For the child, the cupboard holds two spare tunics, underthings, and one old shirt that used to be Din’s. It’s worn and fraying at the hem, and it’s Grogu’s favorite thing to sleep in. When the cabin’s closed up tight and the rest of Nevarro and the wider galaxy are locked outside, that shirt envelops the child in softness as he dreams.
Against one wall of the cabin is a locker for weapons.
There is one toolbox. There is a use for everything inside.
There is one spare pair of shoes.
There is a little bed for Grogu and a larger cot for Din.
There are exactly five things in the cabin that they don’t actually need.
There are cookies.
There is soap that makes rich lather and smells like flint.
There is very good caf.
And on each of their beds is the fluffiest blanket, a small one for Grogu and a larger one for Din. On those nights when the cabin’s locked up tight and the security system’s on and the rest of Nevarro and the rest of the galaxy are locked outside, Din will sleep in just his underlayers, wrapped in soft down and fleece. And sometimes Grogu will sneak over, the too-long sleeves of his favorite nightshirt dragging on the floor, and climb in underneath that blanket, too.
I love how every time this big scary intimidating former bounty hunter who supposedly terrifies everyone he meets has been shown without his helmet, he's just a slightly pathetic [affectionate] little meow meow underneath all of his big scary armour
Awwwww, big scary Mandalorian, what are you gonna do now....
.... cry? 🥺
You don't look so scary now, you sad little cat [affectionate]

Just came across a comment online criticizing The Mandalorian and Grogu for having Din be knocked out 3 times.
This reminded me of the common criticism of "The Mines of Mandalore" in season 3, with people complaining about Din being in peril twice and needing to be rescued by Bo (and Grogu).
And... Look, I ADORE Din and I consider him an excellent warrior... But come on now, dude was knocked out by Jawas in the second episode of the show, and would have been killed by a mudhorn had Grogu not intervened in the same episode. Din may be tenacious and skilled, but he's NOT invincible, and I like that the show (and the movie) frequently reminds us of this fact.
THIS!! I don't understand the interpretation of Din as this invincible unstoppable super soldier. He's just a guy. A skilled guy, but still. Personally, I think it makes his character far more compelling. I even thought they made him a little too OP in the movie...
All the criticism that either calls Din too weak or complains he is too powerful makes me think that people are complaining more about not getting what they wanted/read into the character, than an inconsistency in the actual storytelling.
Din, as a character, is both a one man murder machine AND the world's biggest loser. But "the world's biggest loser" fan crowd gets mad if he is too cool on screen, and the "one man murder machine" fan crowd gets mad if he is anything less than hyper-competent and inhumanly capable.
But one of the points of the show is that it's about a guy who spent literally his life getting good at doing one thing (being a murder machine) and then finds himself in a series of situations where those skills are almost completely irrelevant (fatherhood/making friends). So naturally, as the story progresses, we get more and more instances of him having no clue what he's doing and being very out of his depth, which makes the moments where he IS actually using his skills competently feel more and more incongruous with the character, but that is the point!!
I'm not going to argue that the show is well written; there are many many instances where the script of the movie or the show is total dogshit and there are a lot of valid criticisms of it. It's true that he comes off as a bit of a damsel in distress in s3, and they may have overcorrected for the movie, but nuanced characters being handled imperfectly in canon is basically the crux of star wars media and leaves so much room for us to play. If what people want is to see Din Djarin either be good at everything, or be bad at everything, they aren't going to get it, because both of those guys would be super boring characters to base a show around.
Warnings: None! All fluff, kissing, Mando'a nicknames as usual.
A/N: I wrote down a thought, then the above picture was released - 'twas fate 🙂↕️🙂↕️ Part of the Wildest Dreams universe (takes place anytime after their HEA point in the series), but you don't need to have read the series/can be standalone 🥰

You wake to the rarest, most glorious sight in all the galaxy: the bare face of a still sleeping Mandalorian. Your riduur’s normally hardened features relaxed and unguarded as he snoozes peacefully, the sharp and worn lines of his handsome face restful and soft as his breathing purrs.
Unable to help yourself, you reach up to play with Din’s hair, carding your fingers through the floppy, soft strands and mindlessly twisting his locks around your fingers. Though it was not your intention to wake the man, it’s not long before his lashes start to flutter open.
“Good morning, mesh’la.”
“Good morning, my love,” you lean forward to press a soft, chaste kiss on Din’s lips, “your hair is getting long.”
“Mmmmhmmm,” he nuzzles forward, chasing your taste.
“I could cut it for you.”
Din chuckles while wrapping his strong arms around your waist, then, in one swift motion, rolls you on top of him as you squeal in surprise, “I’ve never heard of a Princess who knew how to cut hair.”
You grin down at him, fingers still dancing through his curls; oh, how you love the press of Din’s bare chest against yours, the feel of your entire body rising and falling on the power of his breathing alone, “I’ve been taking lessons from the Royal barber.”
The Mandalorian melts at your admission, forever touched by the efforts you make to accommodate his Creed, to tend to him, “I’ve always just cut my own hair.” An errant thought strikes him as he recalls the look of some of his legion at their last training session, “Wait… have you been practicing on the Guard?”
“I have!” Your eyes widen in surprise, “Oh no! How come?”
“No reason, cyare,” Din grins, amused by the image of Solana’s most fearsome warriors trying to sit still while their beloved Princess wields a pair of “practice” scissors at their heads.
You slap at Din’s shoulder, though your attempt to look offended fools no one – one of your life’s greatest joys is being teased by your husband, to be one of the few beings in the known worlds who can find themselves on the receiving end of the Mandalorian’s normally hidden good humour, “No one even sees your hair, save for Grogu and I.”
“Just because I’m under a helmet doesn’t mean I can’t be a little vain,” Din smiles so hard his dimples make a surprise morning appearance - the sight sets your heart aflutter. After running a gentle finger over the curve of the elusive dip on his right cheek, you tap it lovingly, “Well, I concede you have very good reason to be vain, General.”
You lean down to kiss him just as Din surges upwards to capture your mouth. He licks in tenderly as soon as you open for him, lips that seal against yours curving into a satisfied grin at your soft inviting whimpers. Your tongue slides along Din’s, slow and lazy, as he steals your air, over and over. You’ll never get over this – being able to kiss your riduur in your shared bed with no sense of urgency, getting lost in his affection with no looming fear of getting caught, of time running out. He’s here, he’s staying, he’s home.
“Okay, Princess, I would love it if you’d cut my hair,” Din murmurs against your lips.
“Really?” Though Din always says he could never refuse you anything, his indulgence still delights you every time.
“Yes, really. I welcome any opportunity to carry a reminder of you with me, always,” Din’s expression is gentle and earnest, his love for you ever apparent in the depths of his soulful brown eyes.
You think to your hair ribbon that’s now securely sewn to the inside lining of Din’s gloves and your heart kvells at your Mandalorian warrior’s penchant for sentimentality; to keep from tearing up you start to climb off your husband and out of bed, “I’ll call for some scissors.”
No match for Din’s lightning-fast reflexes nor his brute strength, your breath catches in your throat as he easily pulls you back to bed and pins you to the mattress with only the smolder of his gaze. Giggling, you flush with warmth as Din hovers over you, shaggy hair falling messily on his forehead; voice husky, he descends on your lips once more, “Later, cyar’ika.”

Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
Reblog if you're okay with people coming into your DMs with the "you seem really odd and your blog intrigues me, do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters"

Din djarin is totally a common topic of conversation on mandalore. Not because anyone is trying to find him or involve him or anything like that but just because he’s like. Their sole celebrity. He’s on the news for singlehandedly wiping out the Hutts and there are just a bunch of mandalorians crowded around a makeshift bar in the slowly-rebuilding mandalore, toasting in front of a holo and going, “That son of a bitch didn’t invite us”
Din Djarin visiting mandalore on business and hes greeted by a band of mandos who are like “man all respect to bo-katan but she isnt out here doing the shit you are” like he has a whole little fan base who truly believes hes the rightful mandalore. simply because 1., he once had the darksaber, and 2., hes badass
