Yeah the renaissance viewers really don’t know this fandom’s history

Honestly I don’t really think that those like myself who got roped in during the silver age like 2015-2018ish when Minecraft YouTube wasn’t in the limelight as much can even claim to be OGs to the mcyt fandom, because this stuff all started in like 2011/2012

Gatekeeping is kinda stupid but like if u weren’t in the fandom when Minecon had just become a thing you are not an og fan

tbh I consider them kinda completely different concepts. I mean, I was a small child who watched dantdm every day and cried when team crafted broke up. but I don’t think that makes me super fucking og and cool, Yknow? I feel like every kid was watching skydoesminecraft when I was. then I stopped. then I came back to it. probably for someone who experienced those 2015-2018 years (2015-2017 was my gap of no Minecraft content) it all feels very connected, but in my mind they’re two different “fandoms” so to speak. anyways
