i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.

People who are bad at art or writing, but try anyway and post anyway and are proud anyway---even those who give up and do something else!---are miles above the brainless potatoes drooling onto their keyboards as they type prompts into the plagiarism machine

Never hate yourself for trying to create something personal and unique. Never assume your beginner attempts are a waste of time. Do not fall for the false philosophy "I need to be successful immediately in order to be good at all."
