So I was wondering....are the augments just augments, or could they be more?

Shroud's little speech that changes depending on your choices have him acting like he always knew what was going on inside SDN. And he attributes that to Invisigal being a spy.

Now that leaves us with, potentially, three options:

Visi was indeed a spy and kept that secret until the end.

Shroud was pulling everything from his ass to try and emotionally fuck with us.

Or my personal favorite: the potential for headcanon.

3. Shroud's augments might have some kind of surveillance function.

It would make sense. If he implants them into enough villains he'll have eyes and ears everywhere. Even those who decide to turn their life around with the Phoenix Program would still be able to act as eyes and ears for him. It would also allow him to keep track of the villains working for him, and if they deviate from the path, he can turn off the augments as punishment.

If I had to guess, it'd probably be some kind of tracker and a simple microphone device, because a camera wouldn't be as effective given the different kinds of powers there are, and that it could easily be covered up by a thick enough shirt.

That scene where it's Kashima asking Hori "Who do you think is cuter, me or Nozaki?", but it's members of Z-Team asking Robert whose cuter.

The reasoning for cutting Sonar that Robert gives to Blazer is about how easily Sonar fell for Coupé's trick and needed to use his distress beacon before even leaving the building.

But the reasoning for cutting Coupé that Robert gives is that "she still feels a little evil", and Blazer doesn't even argue on that.

One feels like a potentially legitimate critique of one of the candidates' ability to handle similar situations in the field, the other is a dumb cliquey vibe check. It's too disproportionate.

Sib says that the reason that should have been given for cutting Coupé is that she was the one to start the spiral of sabotages that happened during first shift that day by handcuffing Sonar in the gym.

Also, add a line about how Robert sees these instances and how they could potentially put the team at risk in the field if this kind of behavior from the cut member continued should they be allowed to stay. Blazer then concedes to those points, agreeing about safety first.

Not only are we now given more legitimate criticisms, but it also acts as a reflection of the reasoning Robert gives for each candidate. It's more balanced.

Now I need some advice for Fanfic B.

The Scene: Robert has to talk to a teenager one on one. The teen is going through it. Like, REALLY going through it. In a way only he can really relate to. And he's been having a really bad morning himself.

How does he break the ice with her?

"Hey kiddo. You wanna talk about what's going on?"

"So... this is a shitty day, huh?"

-hands her a Twinkie-

"...You know, I've been where you are now."
