Murder Came before the Word

Been sat on this for a long time- so glad to finally share it with you all! One of my good friends, Stephanie McMann, also happens to be one of my favourite Contemporary Dancers. Combined with Fraser West's stunning Camerawork they created possibly my favourite of all my music videos. The track 'A Constant Repose' is from my debut as 'Adam Weikert', on a series of songs and neoclassical musings I've been working on for years called 'USIDOH'. Hey gofortheyes- I’m flattered! I’m currently sending it around to various labels/publishers trying to work out the best way to release it. As it's #NationalPoetryDay it seems apt that I should share this. USIDOH, my next album, is a soundtrack of songs from the past 11 years. It compends a collection of poems I wrote between 2005-2011, the years before I began to even try and sing. Poetry to me is uniquely personal. It leaves so much space for one's self to be evoked between the lines. Allows your voice and meter to diction the words and find yourself in the tanglement of someone elses verse...also GREAT for picking up chicks AMMARITE?!

Can't overstate how much I love Jinnwoo's music. Was an absoloute pleasure producing and performing on this album. His voice cracks the very air and he bares an honest soul. Woefully underated.

Pretty stressed and bogged down with album stuff. It's a slog. So wrote a quick song just to remind me that brevity can still exist in a musical realm. Such an astoundingly inventive soundtrack. When you look past the period pop pieces, Coppola's orchestrations are such a wonderful meld of Messiaenic dischord and explorative synthesis. In an era when many people failed to marry traditional instruments with analogue synths, I feel this one of the few that commendably did so- without loss of the 'human' element. It bridges the gap between the evocative nature of acoustic playing amidst the other worldly realm of synthesis, using techniques such breath control, with such flair and sincerity. Might save up for a breath controller methinks- for those curious the one on this soundtrack is the Steiner EVI- good luck getting your hands on one though. New vid to celebrate a lovely new guitar. Was a bit of a fixer upper but sounds beaut. This song was one of the first singer-songwriter songs I ever wrote, and the first song I ever sang to anyone. Weird thinking I never even tried singing for most of my life...you're stuck with it now fam. You're not in love, but it's enough. And you can't feel, but you can touch. A haptic resolute, chomping at the bit going nowhere. And getting there slow. You don't make love, you just fuck. And where was passion, is now only lust. Gleaners wanton, smiles put on for show everyday. Everyday. You're alone. In a room. With the worst thought, you've ever had. You've ever had.

Pretty excited about this vid for my upcoming album Usidoh- got to work with the incredibly talented Stephanie McMann, and Fraser West from WeTheConspiritors. It won't be out for ages, but staring at this picture and humming should give one a good approximation of what to expect...HUMM.

Super chuffed The Mike Harding Folk Show featured 'Vixen' on his latest podcast. Had kinda forgotten I'd written it. Tune in for various pronunciations of my name, and my inability to disseminate useful information about myself on the internet. (around 40 minute mark)

Recently I was very flattered to be asked to pen a song for the Zeppelin project. For those not in the know- one hundred years ago on the 31st of January 1916, the small midlands town of Loughborough was bombed by Zeppelins, claiming the life of 70 people. Amoungst the lost was Annie Adcock, the wife of a brush salesman, leaving behind her husband and two children - and it's of these four the song alludes.
