Darius’ dialogue intrigues me here, because it sounds like this was the incident that made him begin to question things, but up until that point he was still fairly pro-coven. Which makes me wonder if his attack on the BATTs with Eberwolf was an on-the-fence type situation; Realistically, they’re not entirely sure if they can just dismiss what Belos is doing right off the bat. They don’t m want to be outright traitors.
But at the same time, finding out one of their peers is doing actual rebellion; Well, they’re a fellow coven head. They might be privy to certain things. Maybe Raine knows something Darius and Eberwolf don’t. So let’s hear them out at least. Cross-reference what they know.
I’m not sure if Darius and Eberwolf always had a seed of doubt, but they at least had pragmatic sense to question a ritual so grand and powerful, meant to change everything as they know it. So it makes me look back at the fight in Eda’s Requiem, and if it wasn’t 100% acting; Like, Darius and Eberwolf are curious but not fully committed to being on Raine’s side. They want to hear them out. And just in case, if Raine is in the wrong, they may as well capture and restrain them safely, so they can’t do anything the two disapprove of.
But Raine gives a compelling argument and what they say about “disappearances,” cross-referenced with what Darius and Eberwolf know and suspect. It paints too strong of a picture. We know Kikimora subdued Raine, who was later handed over to Terra; But Raine also sabotaged Terra’s brainwashing potion. Given Raine wasn’t imprisoned, did Darius suggest for Terra to brainwash them instead, and it led to Terra thinking of him as on her side, hence her surprise at his betrayal?
I wouldn’t be surprised if what Raine said forced Darius to confront certain facts about his mentor, since he implies to Hunter that his mentor was someone who was always willing to go against the status quo to help others; If what Hunter did to impress Darius enough to make that comparison is any consideration. Sometimes I wonder if the show originally would’ve had Darius find out his mentor was betrayed by Belos, and this would’ve factored into him cementing his decision to rebel.
Was Hollow Mind always supposed to happen prior to the shortening? Or would Hunter have learned the truth in another way; But as it stood, the writers needed to have him learn it ASAP, so consolidating it with a mindscape adventure was the most efficient route to see the BS of the system? Imagine if Darius had been there to also learn what happened to the prior Golden Guard… and all of the others before.
But yeah; Darius and Eberwolf might’ve been more along the lines of true believers who genuinely wanted to think the coven system meant well, that maybe it had flaws but those were more exceptions by malicious individuals that could be fixed, and not the feature itself. Maybe they tried to tell themselves it was justified.
Darius doesn’t seem enthusiastic about capturing wild witches and it could be multiple factors, from not wanting to devote himself to a job he doesn’t fully respect, to genuinely considering the ethical implications and passing it off as him being lazy, because otherwise he’d sound like a doubter. But he always was, as much as he didn’t want to admit it, esp if he saw what happened to those who doubted, and suspected what happened with his mentor…
So Darius and Eberwolf are like Raine in that sense. But at some point they got nosy enough to snoop around, and learned about the draining spell; Did they already cement their alliance to Raine once they acknowledged that the petrifications could not be allowed?
Or was there some unease between them and Raine, until the two got confirmation? I’d think it was the former, mostly because the way Raine talks to Darius’ little Abomination doesn’t have an air of I Told You So. But it’s fun to think about the timeline and progression of how they realized. Dana did mention how Eberwolf trusts Darius, so I wonder if her insinuation was that Eber was mostly pro-coven, and it was Darius’ doubting that got them to follow. With these two, I could see their realization of how corrupt it all was causing them to unpack the “lesser” evils they’d initially overlooked, and commit to their morals.
Nene's fragment SEKAI, first seen in the side story for her Dazzling Dream Stage Colorful Festival card, contains several posters that reference previous WonderlandsxShowtime event and the shows they performed in them.
Firstly, there are three posters advertising a play called TsukaSalion. This seems to be based on the show WonderlandsxShowtime perform in their Main Story, where Tsukasa plays a knight who fights a dragon. There also seems to be a fouth one in the top right corner of the card.
There are two posters for a play called POTATO GHOST. This is the play performed in the Full Power! Wonder Halloween event, with the name being possibly being derived from the event song, potato ni Natte iku (although the in-universe reasoning is because of zombies coming up from the ground like potatoes). The first poster is heavily inspired by the trained card art from that event gacha, and the second poster uses art from Rui's Unexpected Happenings trained 4* card, which was the banner card for the event.
There are also two posters advertising a play called The Adventures of the Mermaid Prince and Mermaid Princesses (人魚王子と人魚姫達の冒険; Ningyo Ouji to Ningyo Himetachi no Bouken). These are inspired by the Mesmerised by Mermaids event, which was Nene's most recent event at the time this card released. In that event, WonderlandsxShowtime performs an adaptation of The Little Mermaid, which these posters are advertising. The name comes from the fact that Tsukasa, Emu and Nene played royal siblings in the adaptation. The art in the second poster is taken from Nene's Celebrate With Fireworks trained 4* card.
The most heavily advertised play is called Smiling Christmas, referred to in some posters as Smiling Christmas Smiling. These posters are designed around the christmas performance WonderlandsxShowtime does in On A Holy Night, This Singing Voice event. This poster is the most featured due to the event and play within it playing a significant part in Nene's character development. The first poster shown here uses art from her Gift From Above untrained 4* card. The last poster shown here also uses that art, but laid horizontally on a portrait canvas making it slightly harder to notice.
You can see here that the art has been slightly modified, with Nene's arm moved to be reaching forwards rather than up. A copy of the art has been mirrored, rotated to hide the arm, and placed on the other side of the poster. This copy has also been placed much lower than the original image, to represent Nene as a child. Altogether, we get this image of Nene reaching out to her child self, just as she did in the event story when she watched old recordings of her singing and was inspired by them.
The last poster is a very obvious nod to the poster for the real-life musical Hamilton. The poster is very low quality, but the first half of the text can be read as "STAR", suggesting that this is advertising another Tsukasa-centric play, since he's commonly asociated with stars. The letters in the second word are much less distinguishable, but it seems to end in "OR".

HELLO TO ALL, Here're a bunch of thumbnails that i made for my gameplay of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (it's a very long title, i've notive it just now lol). I think i wanna reuse that kind of style for things about sonic, with all the dot shading, the more comic and game vibes. I was SO MUCH inspired in that period by the art style of that game. For being totally free was like a little big jewel, i really raccomand it to everyone, lovers or not of Sonic. I reached just the Fourth episode, but i wanted to show you all the covers i made anyway cause i think i wanna restart it and play that game another time, cause it's freIT'S VERY BEAUTYFULL and also was like, my first recording lol (bad mic, bad voice i was sick, bad eng).
Oh, and yeah, i called my character "TheHeckareYou?". Lmao.

SHADOW IS WRITTEN SO WELL IN THE MURDER OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!!
First of all, just him showing up to Amy’s party is a step up from his recent “I will do everything myself, I hate everyone, imma fight you” attitude that we have seen. Secondly, and idk if it was intentional, but him attending shows he cares about Amy. He’s always had a special place for her after the events of SA2, so it’s nice to see him showing up for something that maybe isn’t his style for her sake. (Parties aren’t really his thing, after all.)
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
It’s also really sweet of him to go through so many lengths to try and get Amy’s present. I definitely don’t think he forgot to get her a present, he genuinely just didn’t seem to know that it was a social norm to bring presents to a birthday. If he really didn’t care, he either wouldn’t have gotten her anything or he would’ve given her a rushed gift. But no, he went through a lot of effort, basically foregoing the game, just to stall Amy so he could get her a present she would enjoy.
And not just any present - he remembered her mentioning a specific band she liked and that she hadn’t seen them live. This not only suggests he listens to her and remembers what she tells him, but also implies that he has had multiple conversations with her. Clearly he must have also done some research too since he knew that the tickets were going live soon. He thought this through, even if it was a bit last minute, and did his best to get the tickets (even though he admits to not being the best with computers, which is also nice because usually Shadow just insists he’s the best at everything). I also think it was sweet that he didn’t heavily protest Amy’s suggestion to see the band together. He hesitated, but then yielded. This…for a character who recently has been written to be quite selfish.
He seemed upset that he couldn’t keep this a surprise, but he also didn’t become enraged or lash out at Tails and MC/Barry. In fact, he didn’t really lash out at anyone at any point which is refreshing, since in most Sonic media that’s his go-to emotion.
Most of his expressions throughout the game are fairly gentle in fact. Sure, he doesn’t smile, but he also isn’t actively angry. And the one expression where he does seem a bit negative just seems like his resting expression, or at absolute worse just a little annoyed. He’s very mellow throughout the game and it’s refreshing.
Even after he has finished talking to Amy, Tails and MC/Barry, he offers to stay with them and help them with the investigation. Normally in Sonic media, Shadow has no interest in helping others and only really cooperates if there’s a mutual goal/interest. And even then, he tends try to do things on his own. But in this game? He actually cooperates, and what’s more, he goes out of his way to offer his help.
So far I’ve mostly talked about his attitude towards Amy. But what’s his attitude towards Sonic? People debate back and forth on whether Shadow hates Sonic and the recent games and media have made it seem like he does hate Sonic. But in this game? I wouldn’t say so. I mean, he’s literally hanging out with him and his friends and instead of having beef with Sonic, he just focused on making Amy happy. And even when the situation gets more dire and Sonic is found to be knocked out, he doesn’t make any snarky comments or anything. In fact, he actually helps to tend to Sonic’s condition, even if it was just checking his pulse. If he rly didn’t care, he would’ve left it to everyone else.
Man, I could talk for hours about Shadow in this game. I can’t believe this April Fools prank game is actually the best characterisation for Shadow we’ve had recently. He’s not overly aggressive, he isn’t selfish, he isn’t super edgy. He is still sorta cold, but he’s not rude or mean. He’s actually really kind (in his own way), putting his needs and desires on hold to make Amy’s birthday fun and to help everyone out. I seriously hope that Shadow is written more like this in the future and not like he has been. Maybe Sega wasn’t joking about taking on board the complaints of the fandom.
There are a ton of things about Shadow's characterization that I love in this game!
Adding to all of the above, the fact he not only showed up to the party without any personal ulterior motive but also agreed to join in on the game and wear his costume, he also was pretty nice and helpful to everyone else.
His care and kindness when it comes to Amy has been explained in the original post, let's tackle some other things.
Starting out when he met Barry and the Conductor first to hand them his ticket, he didn't attempt to look aloof or scary at all. Barry was in fact more terrified of Knuckles than Shadow. Also, he asked for a gift bag and it was so clear this introverted hedgehog did it begrudgingly and didn't even snap back or make a remark when he learned there wasn't one on the train.
He taught Knuckles and Vector how to run the arcade. They didn't even ask for it and yet he helped and then didn't show off about it.
Admitted that he's not good with computers. While in some cases, Shadow would've been portrayed as dismissive or egoistic regarding anything requiring smarts, he didn't do so here. He freely admitted that he wasn't good at something.
Kept locking the doors to keep Amy away from discovering the surprise but cared enough to give everyone stationed in their respective cars a key so they wouldn't be trapped.
"It took every muscle in his body to agree with Tails." ~Barry. He indulged Tails even though he disagreed greatly and could've easily said no when the fox excitedly talked about marshmallows.
Decided to help out in figuring out the mystery.
Was seen to be equally concerned about Sonic as everyone else.
…It’s quite the epiphany that has occurred to me, but Hunter is HONESTLY such a fairy tale character???
Like his name, it evokes the woodlands ‘Hunter’ of stories such as Snow White… And of course, his whole motif of being in a gilded cage! He’s a trapped bird in a gilded cage, in a tower/castle like Rapunzel or Sleeping Beauty… And Hunter wants to break free! He wants to spread his wings and fly, and he fittingly has bird motifs, specifically an Owl and a Cardinal… Which, I have to wonder if the Cardinal is more true to Hunter, and the Owl an imposed identity from Belos!
Speaking of, Belos is literally that Evil Uncle archetype, who locks away his nephew and abandons him! Kikimora is also kind of like that jealous Evil Aunt, the kind you’d see in Cinderella… Trying to depose and even get rid of Hunter, for her own power and schemes! Hunter has to deal with an evil dragon, and he’s got a golden motif and lives in a castle, and he’s beginning to talk to animals like some Disney Princess!
Even the way his face is revealed is very fairy tale-esque, taken straight out of Sleeping Beauty, only to be subverted because Luz ain’t interested in him THAT way! Hunter actually IS kind of a subversion of those fairy tales, a twist that’s turned around… He’s the prince, but the prince that needs to be rescued! He’s the evil hunter who chases down the fair and innocent maiden (in this case the palismen), but like the hunter, he has a crisis of conscience and does the right thing, looks the other way.
You could even compare how the hunter from Snow White offers a heart for the evil queen to devour, and how Hunter provides Palismen for Belos to absorb! He’s got the golden hair and motif, akin to Rapunzel… When Luz finds Hunter, she has to deal with a dragon and an evil, jealous ‘stepmother’ archetype to protect him!
