“no need. just tell the teacher next time, make him explain himself. that’ll embarrass him.”

“when did i imply it did?”

‘ while i’m sure you have a great personality, we’re in a quiet space. not the time to be obnoxious just because your parents probably don’t pay enough attention to you at home and you feel the need to act out about it at school. ’

tristan didn’t say anything as he watched the unfamiliar girl drag some poor villain’s kid. “ironic considering you’re the one making a scene,” he spoke up after a moment or two, voice apathetic as usual.

“i don’t know. you’re pretty? blonde? could be anything, i’m not exactly a mind reader,” tristan replied.

“no?” tristan replied with a shrug. “i’m here to graduate and get the hell out again. with the shitty teachers on the island it’d take me years.”

“why should it be my responsibility? isn’t it your notebook?” tristan pointed out, putting one earphone back in and continuing to scrawl on the paper. “i’m sure you’ll get over it.”

“aren’t you just so bad?” tristan mocked her, rolling his eyes.

“you think i’d do ballet?”

sighing as he was bumped into, tristan watched as the sheets of paper floated everywhere. it wasn’t in his nature to pick them up and it was better off to keep a repuation, so he let the girl do it herself. “yeah, whatever.”

looking up from his own paper, tristan had liked coming to the library for peace and quiet. but apparently he couldn’t even get that here. “would you keep it down? i’ve got work to do.”

“i don’t do manual labour. and my mother told me not to bother with flowers that weren’t red. said they were ugly.”

“pranking is for children and imbeciles. what we villains do is much worse, so i wouldn’t mistake our evil for games,” tristan warned lightly. “besides isn’t it against your code to talk ill about people.”

“spoiler alert: it’s not. can’t you already tell by the amount of smiling faces and people about to burst into song?”

“i really couldn’t give a shit if you’re late, but you’re holding the line up. could you move?”
