James likes that Camille just floats along with minor pushback. She's a "head down and do as told kind of girl" and he's very much a demanding kind of boy. When she does actually put up a little fight, James still very easily gets his way. In someways, these two are a horrible match but he thinks this means they're perfect. He's all take and she's all give.
Which is why he hardly asks, he tells. He also thinks this is how women should be because that's how his mom is. She hardly ever puts up a fight with him. He's always done what he wanted (ex: have Camille stay the night as his place for weeks at a time.) and she's hardly had control over him. She doesn't like to pushback too much because she doesn't want him mad at her. Camille doesn't get it. She'd never treat her mom the way James treats his mom. She hates watching his mom bend over backwards to make him happy.

Once Camille gets pregnant with her first child (that they keep) James realizes he unfortunately is a man that just loves his wife being pregnant and would like to have Camille be pregnant forever if possible. I could see these two having many kids they probably shouldn't have.
Camille is dyslexic. It impacts her quite a bit but she's scared to get tested and find out she is in fact dyslexic. She worries that means she'll get held back. But after she realizes how bad she struggles she decides to turn to her trusted teacher, Mrs.Cassidy for help!
Camille has phonological dyslexia. The most common form of dyslexia and what you probably think of when you think of dyslexia. She also has dyscalculia which is a common co-morbity with dyslexia. She *really* struggles with school and has just been passed along with her peers. Mrs.Cassidy though doesn't want to just pass her along. She wants to get her help. James isn't the most supportive because he just doesn't understand. To him it's silly and he thinks she just needs to try harder. But after seeing her burst into tears a few times while doing homework together, he sees a little more that it's a massive struggle for her.
Camille's dyslexia does sometimes lead her to stutter, but not often. More likely when she gets flustered. James used to tease her a lot about it when they first started dating but he realized that made it worse so he stopped. Sometimes he's impatience comes through and he picks on her but he tries to be understanding. Camille avoids reading outloud as much as humanly possible. For one it's hard for her but it makes her stutter as well.

Camille's Spanish is very rough. She understands it better than she speaks it. She tries to keep up on in but there's no one to practice with except for her family and Devon. Devon is fluent and much better st speaking it because his dad has him practicing a lot. Same with greek. His mom has him practicing that all the time.
I need to figure out where in Montana, James, Devon and Camille grew upπ€ somewhere small probably.
Edit: I'm thinking Whitefish! It's very small but not too small. Where my grandma was from in Montana has a population UNDER 1000! How crazy is that? I really wanna visit Montana. Apparently it's crazy expensive though!
