I will be uploading Buffy and Charmed too eventually once I bump my Google Drive storage space up to 5TB but those two can usually be found everywhere so it’s not that much of an issue that they’re not uploaded yet.

If it’s female or WLW representation, I care about it. However, it’s usually just action/adventure, fantasy and supernatural I watch for myself. South Of Nowhere is an outlier just because it’s so god damn well written/acted and the WLW ship/couple in it are the lead characters.

I will not let ANY female and WLW media fall off into obscurity. We deserve to be represented too and there are legions of us (new and old generation) who need it.

One of my favorite parts of Max is that it feels like she’s never once used an ounce of introspection towards herself while still having a moderate understanding of her own emotions.

She doesn’t question her bisexuality, she doesn’t really think about what outfits she wears , hell, she doesn’t even think about where her powers come from when she first gets them. You can’t tell me that Max truly has thought about her sexuality or gender expression. She probably has had the same favorite color since she was five because she hasn’t thought about it since.

But she does know herself to a moderate extent. She clearly thinks about how she’s currently feeling when she writes about it in her journals, but that’s the extent of it. I’d argue that even her journals are more accurately her ‘outer’ thoughts as I think there’s more than a little to her mind that remains unspoken simply because Max flat out refuses to think about any of it (either consciously or unconsciously)

There’s sooooo much to that subconscious level to her mind that no one, not even the player, gets to see 90% of the time. Max might have random comments about being insecure but things like how much men freak her out go almost completely unnoticed until her nightmare.

It makes her so interesting!!! Give me more characters that just don’t look under the hood of their mind, not because of trauma (that came later) but just because she doesn’t really care to.

Honestly though, comments like that are gold to me. I love to write and a comment telling me that something I’ve done has improved someone’s life even in a small way? That’s impact. We live in societies that tell us over and over we have no value and nothing we do is ever good enough. So for someone to post a comment telling us that we improved their lives with our stories? That tells us our effort had value. We writers set out to improve the world in tiny ways, offering random acts of kindness in the form of a few minutes’ entertainment, and comments tell us we’ve achieved that little goal.
