CONCLUSION
WEEK 1 At the start of Triptych, we divided the group into four groups. Each group had their own topic to do research on. The research involved the two characters, Elvis Presley and Tim Burton, future trends and presentation. Each group presented their findings to the other two groups. Each group ensured that the key values of the characters were clear. The presentation group put together all the findings for the pitch.
For the pitch, we got the feedback that our research was not deep and specific enough, so we sat down to gather more information. Now that we found more interesting characteristics about our icons, we understood the feedback from the teachers. With the new information we collected we started working on our concept. Again, the group was divided into four groups. Each group had to come up with a concept before 13:00 and present it to the other groups. The group with the best concept would further workout their concept. When all concepts were pitched we realized there was not one best concept. Each group brought good elements. We decided that two people of each group would form the concept group. After the weekend we pitched the concept. The teachers were very confused, didn’t get the concept and thought we presented way too much information. They also thought that Elvis Presley and Tim Burton were lost in the concept. We realized that something needed to be changed.
WEEK 2 Other groups worked all together on the concept instead of dividing the group in smaller groups. We decided to approach our new concept the same way. This way we would create a more coherent story within the whole group. First thing we did was going back to the core of the characters and writing on a board what we wanted to show within our concept. Next we brainstormed with the entire group about the possible ways in doing so. When the final concept was established we all sat down with our groups to work on either the, fashion film/shoot, designs, brand book and business plan. In order to make sure all groups would communicate the same story we would check on each other’s work at the end of the day. Everyone was very excited about the new concept. Another thing that we learned is that we have to be critical with each other’s work. At first we felt bad to comment on someone’s work, but when we realized that everyone wants to help each other, we were able to work out a project that we all are extremely proud of.
RESULT Once we started to except each others feedback we started to really work as a team. This resulted in a show that we are all proud of. We are all very proud of what we accomplished.
