#3d installation

In the monday workshop my group worked with Paul Tarpey in the photography studio to collaborate on creating one big piece on the wall to photography.

We chose a photo of the riverside taken by Meesh and began hammering paper onto the wall to recreate it in an abstract manner. Working together to build the castle and bridge out of cardboard and manipulate our materials to give the effect of rushing, flowing water.

Paul Tarpey encouraged us to cut the blue paper and pull plastic through to ensure there was depth in the 3D piece, moving away from the 2D work we'd be familiar with.

Collectively we then lit the piece using different lighting setups to then photograph it.

For our presentation I displayed the above image on the screen. Choosing two images taken from our photoshoot that best highlighted day and night settings.

Back in the summer I had the very unique experience to create a 3D installation for ITV. The piece was used to film an Ident that was shown in September as part of ITV Creates artist series. The ident is viewable in the UK on ITV’s website: https://www.itv.com/itvcreates/september/florence-blanchard
