Well… since a thread blew up on twitter about me being a lesbian I thought I’d officially just reintroduce myself to those of you who don’t know. My name’s Becky. I created this blog when I was 13 with the help of a few girls. Honestly, it was a joke that kind of blew up. Somehow I brought joy to girls and boys all across the world (”justgirlythings” but literally any man or woman could laugh/relate to this blog) and that’s all I really could’ve asked for when creating this. I have seen hell and it is cinema customers who feel they can trash the place and abuse the staff. Plexiglass will not stop them.

Keeping a theater clean was already a nightmare, good luck keeping a plague out. Half the time, the PPE kits are impossible to find or access, the other half they’re not restocked on the regular. And during busy seasons? Good luck finding gloves, let alone cleaning supplies. The theaters would never order appropriately. That was during non-pandemic conditions - now? Idk, man.

In some places, employees under a certain age can’t legally do biohazard cleanup, so what does shoving a thermometer at someone count as? God, the logistics here get more hinky the longer you think about it.

Some customers can’t even handle getting carded, so I can’t imagine shoving a thermometer at their forehead

How you gonna enforce social distancing???? The way seats are set up, you can’t.

You know who usually works at theaters consistently? People that fall into high risk categories, because theaters are usually the one place that hires constantly and doesn’t give AF as long as you show up to your shift.

Speaking of that, theaters tend to have a policy of punishing employees for being sick or basically ensuring they are so afraid of losing their job that they’ll come in sick. I myself was punished (threatened with being fired, actually) because I had the audacity to have complications from pneumonia and wanted more time to recover. I can practically guarantee that employees with COVID-19 still showing up for shifts will be a thing.
