//MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS - HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF FINDING THAT RIGHT WORD!!!!!
Iāve reblogged it before, and Iāll reblog it again
Is this blog still active? I do see prompts every once in a while, but the blog highlight says Coming soon in August.
Sort of but not really. Completely transparent here - Two of the admins (including me) got involved with making an otome game, two of the other admins donāt post I think (we havenāt communicated in awhile). And the main person who started it completely left at some point apparently. I personally donāt want to abandon the blog because it doesnāt take too much maintenance and is a great resource, but it may need to undergo some serious changes and be reduced to minimal maintenance in order to continue, So for right now itās sort of just floating in hiatus-land.-Xel

Just pretend you have to do it and you will.
Um, hello! I'm not sure how this works, but I'm looking for someone to edit my Voltage fan fiction. If you could recommend someone, preferably someone familiar with Pirates in Love, I would appreciate it!
You can check our editors page or maybe even look at some writers who have written PIL and ask them, saying you found them on the Voltage Writers Guild.-Admin Blueberry

I just tweeted it and I figure I should also post it here.Ā
This website literally GRADES YOUR ESSAYS. You can choose your grade level, if youāre using American or British english, what type of paper it is (essay, short story, biographyā¦), and it even checks for plagiarism. THEN once itās grading your essay, it shows you grammatical errors, suggestions for better sentence structure, and a lot of other things. Reblog to save a life.Ā
proper punctuation can make the difference between a sentence thatās well-written and a sentence thatās, well, written.
Do you have anything to do with the "Voltage Knowledge" blog?
No we donāt, although they are a fantastic blog, our blog is dedicated towards giving fanfiction and headcon writers tips and advice in the fandom! ;p

Any ideas on how to kill off a character?
1001 Ways to Die
400+ Ways to Kill Your Character
Watch some crime shows, like Forensic Files
And some examples from fiction to show that you can get creative/weird:
Riding a rocking horse to deathĀ (kind of)
Being hit in the head with a frozen lamb leg which is then cooked and served to the cops during the investigation
Cartoon characters being dipped into paint thinnerĀ (for SF/F, look for deaths specific to your world!)
And some other ideas:
Being killed by your own invention (used often, but can have a great effect in some cases)
Being killed by/at something that is famous for being safe
Poor clothing choices (capes getting caught in thing, scarves getting caught in a table saw)
Broken rib bone punctures the heart due to forceful impact
Given incompatible blood
Being used as a sacrificial victim
I really just want to let fanfic authors know that you donāt actually have to put smut in your story for it to be good.Ā
And thatās not me saying this bc I have any problem with sex in fic but bc I feel like thereās a lot of pressure to escalate ratings toĀ āMatureā orĀ āExplicitā status in fandom.Ā
I see so many people who are clearly not cool with writing smut doing so anyway bc they feel like itās an obligation for quality stories, and I just want you to know that you donāt have to. I honestly love my OTPs for their relationships, not just bc I want to see them bang.Ā

Writing Tip: When to Make a New Paragraph
When you start a new topic
When you skip to a new time
When you skip to a new place
When a new person begins to speak
When you want to produce a dramatic effect
Punctuation Matters by The Visual Communication Guy
Writing tip!
Always carefully check over punctuation or you might find yourself confusing your readers (or giving them a good laugh!).

Tips: Quotations and Dialogue~
There are so many things that are important to know when you use quotation marks and dialogue in your writing. It can be tricky, so Iāve found a few websites, which I hope will help you out.
First, itās important to know when to use quotations. They are used for more than simply dialogue. You can check out this webpage to see when else you may need to use them and when it is unnecessary to use them.
Next, writing dialogue is tricky, so itās important to know how to properly write it in a way that is clear and flows nicely. Check out this webpage to learn some useful tips, such as starting a new paragraph every time someone else speaks. This helps to avoid confusing the reader. There are several other useful tips on that page so be sure to check it out!
Finally, I want to emphasize grammar. I see so many writers using periods, commas, and capitals inappropriately when writing dialogue. I know how confusing it can be (as I, myself, get confused, too) so I searched and I found this webpage, which I think you will find helpful.
I hope these rules and tips help you out with your writing! Good luck!
