iâm not gonna lie the erasure of transmasculinity everywhere i turn is really starting to get to me lads. multiple characters that are either gnc or outright trans in their source material are being hyper feminized in their television adaptations. a cis lesbian lgbt historianâs video comes across my path and in it she asserts clearly that stormĂŠ delevarie is a cis woman, the comments all agreeing on what a wonderful womanly woman she was, no one does it like women do. another video someone with nearly two million followers posts a video essentially saying trans men donât experience discrimination compared to trans women. it gets tens of thousands of likes. a video of a cis woman in support of trans people next, all the comments talking about how trans women must be women because they are oppressed like women are, i wonder what that makes me to them. two trans men dead this last month. another two trans men with their teeth broken from hate crime assault this week. one of them in a trans sanctuary state, in broad daylight, screaming out for help and everyone around him looks away. looking away. everybody is looking away. we are the thing in the corner of their eye that they would rather not see and what crime did we commit to be treated this way? are we truly seen as so pitifully grotesque for our harmless aberration from the female sex that it feels natural to pretend we are not there? that we were never there? iâm terrified. iâm terrified by what is going to happen to us in the silence. i wish i wasnât.
when we "lose" a cis butch woman because he becomes a trans man or masc you should actually say such things as yay, yippee, or hooray.
i identified as a butch for a bit! I changed my mind because in my case it was me trying to avoid wanting to be something I wasn't sure I COULD be! did you "lose" something when I, a trans woman, decided to present more femme?
if every cis butch woman in the world became a trans man right now, that would be an unambiguously, inarguably good and positive thing, because that would be people choosing to live the lives they wanted as the kinds of people they wanted to be, end of statement. personal autonomy isn't something to bitch over!
just go find a drug dealer bro. just go take some unregulated street drugs. its just a felony no big deal why are you being such a pussy about it. it's not like testosterone has any medical effects on your body that might interact with other medical conditions or medications or anything that might need to be monitered. you're just making up problems at this point
get peer approved
Trans ppl made terfism woke . How much % are nonbinary people evil? Does it depend on how âmanâ passing they lookđ

hey, I know making up a word for your own "oppression" feels good, but have you considered that nothing you experience uniquely occurs to trans men? I know this is hard to process for you birthday bois, but I recommend the term transemasculation. this means the only trans-specific oppression you face is comparable to cis men having their feelings hurt!

I fucking hate other TMEs man I wish they'd finally die or detransition so I stop getting confused for MRA transandrobro truthers everytime I follow somebody

you guys do experience transphobia, but you inherently have male privilege. you are not oppressed for being a man. you don't experience misogyny. when you transition irl everyone accepts you, because women- I mean trans men ditching femininity for masculinity is rewarded

all of you in the tag report this fucking freak documenting-transphobia until the blog is gone, they said they don't care what people do in fiction even if they personally find it distasteful

another trans man has been confirmed murdered this month. more are still missing, and the two news articles that mention these murders misgenders the victims to be documented as femicide with no foul play detected. please never forget we exist.
The trans community should show more love to intersex trans people. Whenever I see a positivity post it almost always feels like it is directed at perisex trans people
there's something so fucking sinister about a post comparing trans men to predators alike transphobic people as if we're not being trafficked and murdered and raped everyday while having those experiences erased getting a whole 3.5k notes. and this was written by a trans guy too! how can you be so unkind?
unfortunately i dont think its queerbaiting if the creator is just so terminally heterosexual that they never remotely considered the same gender relationship their show is centered around could be read as romantic. it is deeply painful however.
Maybe accidental queer baiting? The way someone may not mean to say something rude, but it may come off rude, so it's rude. Frustrating either way.
Not being a dick, just a friendly clarification.
By definition you can't accidentally queerbait. Queerbaiting is specifically using a same sex pair from the show to market the show to queer audiences with no intention of ever following through on a romantic relationship.
There is officially licensed Destiel merch signed off on by Kripke. Teen Wolf had a commercial with the actors for Derek and Stiles draped over each other talking about being "on a ship." Both shows actively used scenes between them as marketing while actively mocking fans for wanting them together. Sherlock has multiple characters refer to Johnlock as a couple, including characters we're supposed to believe are never wrong about human behavior and pushed those scenes in marketing. Then they acted insulted when fans saw them as a couple.
That's queerbaiting.
Done on accident it would just be queer subtext. Done because they had no other choice due to censorship is queer coding.
The specific meaning of the word is really starting to get lost and it's a pretty important one to keep accurate. It describes a very specific phenomenon that was done repeatedly and maliciously for decades and is meant to examine that specifically.
Doing it on accident sucks, but it isn't a tactic of capitalism intentionally intended to suppress queer representation while making money from queer fans.
I am fucking BEGGING transmascs (and everyone else) to not let the animosity of a VERY SMALL GROUP of very online transfems impact how you interact with transfems or think about transfems.
please, please, please remember that this "hating transmascs" and "kill all TMEs" bullshit is just a few edgy weirdos on the internet who enjoy saying inflammatory things for shock value.
transfems are not your enemy, and YES, you do actually need to unlearn transmisogyny. Not because you're transmasc, but because we live in a transmisogynistic society.
transfems are not a hivemind, there's no broader transfem consensus that transmascs are Evil Privileged Abusers, but the small group of people who think that way WANT you to believe that they are representative of trans women everywhere. they're super not. they really are just a handful of angsty people online looking for someone to pick on.
all trans people have more commonalities than differences. there aren't two distinct species of trans people from two different planets, there are just trans people with a wide diversity of experiences and walks of life. we are all affected by the same systems of oppression.
find community and mutual support with transfems. build solidarity and have conversations about how we can help each other. the only way we all get through this shit is together.

again on the isaac ranson (trans guy who had to play on a women's team to be allowed to continue within the league he plays in) stuff
trans guy: has to join a women's team to be allowed to play, will not be able to medically transition whether he wishes to or not for as long as he plays within that league
people:
.
WHAT THE FUCK. i guarantee you these people would not be having the same reaction to a trans woman having to play on a men's team. in fact, they'd probably be coming out in waves to offer support for her. but no, suddenly because the person in question happens to be playing on a team they want to play on (and that person probably doesnt want to have to) its transmisogynistic and hes the weakest link in the trans commun and he should be jumped?? what the absolute FUCK?? this has to be a fucking joke. these people cannot genuinely be serious.
person: finds a way to continue playing their sport, while having to make sacrifices, but still finding a way to play
other people: he's evil. he deserves to be jumped. i hope he dies
just genuinely what the actual fuck
i think MORE characters should be rape survivors. i think more characters should be csa survivors. i think more characters should be dv survivors. i think strong and noble and attractive and charming and brilliant characters with indomitable spirits should be survivors. i think the most powerful characters in the world should be survivors. i think characters who are cultural icons should be survivors. i think victims and survivors should see ourselves in the most admirable and beloved characters around! i think we should be protagonists!!!
#âitâs so unnecessaryâ . okay . god yea this one drives me CRAZY. people will yap all day long about how it's "unnecessary" to make a character a survivor like do you think it was necessary for any of us to be abused or raped irl? was it narratively essential? did it teach the audience an important lesson? why do we, who have to justify our experiences and existences and reactions all the time in real life, also have to justify why we should exist in fiction? people act so repulsed by the thought of us. i've really fully and truly had enough of that. there is nothing so uniquely disgusting or repulsive or unspeakable about our victimhood or our survival that justifies this obsession with keeping the reality of our existence hidden
"oh but talking about it can be triggering for victims :(((" you know what else is triggering? living in a world that insists that we cannot be open and honest about what happened to us. maybe if we had, oh, i don't know, prominent examples in our cultural stories of people who are victims and are competent and strong it might be easier (for everyone, not just victims) to have the discussions we actually need to have about our trauma.
im going through my skyrim screenshot folder

Pixel post dividers for everyone! It's not much, but feel free to use them if you'd like. I don't know the ideal size for these, so let me know if they're too tall. I can make them a bit shorter next time.
I think a lot of people hear "Misandry/hating men isn't a constructive use of time and does harm to marginalised men." and hear instead "You have no reason to be wary of men, they're all victims too".
I, as a trans man, am still wary of cis men I don't know. I am still very aware that a lot of peri-cis white men have not only priviledge, but power over others, including me.
I am also aware that I don't feel safe around people who recite things like "Kill all men" or are self proclaimed misanderists. And this mindset can lead to dangerous ideals of bio-essentialism and even gender-essentialism that labels any man evil, any woman pure, and treats trans men as traitors.
And a lot of these takes lump all men in together when intersex, disabled, trans and men of colour, etc, do not inherintly carry all the same privilege as the white, able bodied, peri-cis man you all default to. In fact they are all oppressed in their own ways. (Money, education and upbringing can also play a part in this)
No one is saying that you can't or shouldn't be wary of men in general, or you can't of had bad experiences with them. But acting as if it is the default of all men does not help anyone but excuse it as something all men do and not an active choice some men make. And something our society does not correctly punish or call out.
The problem is the patriarchy, not a random disabled trans man implying that maybe he understands what oppression feels like.
Insisting on lumping in marginalised men, and the rise in hatred towards trans men lately, does not help anyone. Its not punching up. It's punching sideways.
