i think lance, out of all the paladins, seems to be the most emotionally in-tune so as soon as he knows about your anxiety he’s onto that shit straight away

will take you away from whatever is happening atm to somewhere quiet

if you start crying this boy turns into a mess

he never wants to see his s/o sad and wants to help

will talk to you in a quiet voice

like that soothing reading voice that you could listen to for hours

if you’re okay with it, will hug you and just hold you

makes you breathe with him to calm down

when you are calm enough he’ll wait until you feel comfortable talking and will wait all night until he knows you’re feeling better <3

Walking through the hallways of the castle, it was quiet. Everyone had gone to sleep after a long day’s battle. Everyone except Pidge. The Green Paladin as per usual, was still awake working on new tech in the Castle’s mechanical room. 

As you walked down the hallway towards the mechanical room where you knew you’d find Pidge, you heard an unusual sound; it sounded as though someone were crying. Hurrying your pace, you quickly made your way to towards the sound but as you rounded the corner you were stopped abruptly in your tracks. Pidge was sitting cross-legged on the floor, scattered bits of alien tech around the paladin’s work space. Pidge sobbed quietly, unaware of your presence as you walked into the room and closer. 

“Pidge? What’s wrong?” You asked, kneeling down in an empty area of the floor. 

“Oh...it’s nothing,” Pidge sniffled, wiping her face. 

You frowned and placed your hand on her shoulder, “It’s not ‘nothing’ if you’re crying. Talk to me.” 

Pidge turned to face you and your heart broke. Her eyes were red from crying and from a lack of sleep and her cheeks glistened with stray tears that managed to escape from her eyes. Immediately, you pulled Pidge into a warm embrace. 

“I miss him so, so much. I miss Matt and I...I don’t know if we’re ever going to find him. He could be anywhere in the universe,” Pidge said, sighing sadly. 

You pulled back a bit from Pidge as an idea popped into your head. Without a word, you began to pepper little kisses across the paladin’s face. At first, Pidge protested her annoyance but slowly she started to smile and then she started to laugh. You finally stopped and smiled at Pidge. 

“See? That’s much better,” you smiled. “Look, I know it’s hard to still have hope but I know we’ll find him. Things will start looking up and you and Matt are going to see each other again, I know it,” you said reassuringly.

i just know that he smells incredible

like he is one of the top three best smelling members of team Voltron™

i mean??? he is a guy who likes to look after himself and that includes making sure he always smells gr8/8

he probably smells like really nice laundry detergent

like you know when you pull your clothes out from the dryer and they’re soft and smell so comfy and cuddly? that’s our sharpshooter

he’s an engineer and he works with his hands a lot around machines etc. 

what I’m saying is that he probably smells like grease

BUT

catch him outside on a cooking day and he will smell like walking into a bakery early in the morning while they’re still baking bread 

has also smelt like cinnamon before because he’s our precious cinnamon roll ,,,too pure

i think when he doesn’t smell like a bakery or grease he smells like a warm sunny nap 

listen,,,,,,i know it’s not a smell but if that feeling were a smell Hunk would smell like that

Pidge has said it before: she sweats a lot so  y i ke s

sometimes Pidge is too busy to remember to shower so on those days the smell is a bit worst 

Pidge is also a teen (like a majority of them) so puberty does things with body odour and does not give a quiznak about you being in space 

i see Pidge as not really having a distinct smell? like Pidge smells like Pidge unless she’s been training bc you should avoid her then or risk losing all smell receptors

in my top three team voltron™ members of who smells the nicest no it’s not because he’s my fave

like he may have some terrible self-care issues but he smells incredible

you know when someone just walks past you and you like fall in love with their smell? that’s Shiro

still always smells slightly like dust and sand despite the amount of times it’s been washed

his hair tho o h m  a n,,,,his hair probably smells amazing (thanks to Altean Pantene™) 

though avoid him in training if you don’t want him to shake his sweaty hair on you like a dog keith ya nasty

i like to think that he found a way to use the Altean pool and now will smell like the Altean equivalent to chlorine

look he’s not that old but probs smells like an older gentleman

that slightly earthy smell (or would it be Altean-y???)

Coran smells like a very expensive aftershave because he found some on the castle from Altea before it was destroyed violently 

uses too much sometimes accidentally it reminds him of home okay?

i feel like he looks after Kaltenecker’s field so he smells like fresh grass sometimes

idk why but i feel like she smells like fairy floss (cotton candy for you non-australians)

it’s probably her hair that smells like fairy floss

she has this juniberry flower perfume that miraculously survived

i see juniberry flowers smelling like jasmine with something berry-like

she only has a tiny bit left so uses it sparingly

also no one can explain it but she has this smell that smells weirdly similar to quintessence 

It’s currently cold, wet and gloomy where I am so cuddles are exactly what I need rn so enjoy some short fluffy headcanons :) - mod Lyca 

Shiro:-if you weren’t warm before the cuddles, you are now                        -like how is it possible for one person to be this hot???-he likes to be the big spoon because he is a boft™ boi (will settle for little spoon when he’s feeling rough tho)-i think he really enjoys cuddling because it’s so intimate to him??? like he gets to let his guard down and just chill-if you run your fingers through his hair while you cuddle he will 100% fall asleep in no less than three (3) minutes-if you’ll let him, he’ll just plop on top of you like a sack of potatoes and just…sleep (it’s because he likes to hear your heartbeat but shh he won’t admit it)

Lance:-l i s t e n this boy will cuddle you whenever wherever (shakira awakes in the distance)-Lance is like 90% limb so he is a starfish when he sleeps but bless him he tries to cuddle while you guys sleep-after particularly long/tiring/stressful missions he will find wherever you are and cuddle you right then and there-once found you in the pool and just climbed in armour and all and??? -doesn’t care whether he’s little or big spoon as long as he knows you’re there and will be there 

Hunk:-have you ever wanted to hug a toasted marshmallow? look no further-srs tho Hunk is like a warm marshmallow and probably smells like one too with all the baking he does-if you just go up to him and hug him and press your ear to his chest he’ll just :O and blush-likes to do the koala hug where you just latch on around him like a koala joey (fun fact: both kangaroo and koala babies are called joeys) -don’t know if it counts as cuddles but Hunk is a big softie™ and l o v e s lying in your lap and just relax (bonus if you start playing with his hair)-give hunk more cuddles you cowards @ dreamworks 

Keith:-ERROR: keith.exe has stopped working-look he lived in a desert for a solid part of his life-how do i human contact and affection-likes being the little spoon but will deny it and adamantly claim he is only a big spoon if asked (he feels protected when he’s the little spoon okay? let him be vulnerable)-if you cuddle with him, prepare to be smothered in blankets or risk frostbite because he is always freezing (it’s the Galra in him)-first time you tried cuddling with him he didn’t sleep all night and didn’t dare move a muscle because ‘oh m y goD they’re so cUtE? what if I move and they wake up?????!!!’ -after a few times though he could’t sleep UNLESS you cuddled-he just wants love and affection and someone to hold him :(

Pidge:-Pidge is so s M o L-who let this tiny child pilot an alien cat head/war machine??-let’s be real doesn’t really ever make it back to her room to sleep-but if you offer cuddles will be there in less than a tick-likes being a human jetpack-will just nuzzle into your neck and fall asleep (wow Pidge sleeping? unheard of)-sometimes you wonder if you could kill her via cuddles because Pidge is just teeny so smol the smallest-when Pidge is especially tired however, you’ll find this small person just attach to your back trying to steal all your body heat

This is only my second time ever writing for a Galra character so bear with me haha but I hope you enjoy! - mod Lyca

You glared at the Galra general-Sendak he said his name was-standing in front of you and tried, once again, to wriggle out of your restraints but to no avail. It had taken several sentries and two lieutenants to restrain you but not without injuries on their side. You were scared and angry; a dangerous combination when Galra blood ran through your veins. 

You had been traversing all across the galaxy on a mission to find your father after your mother was killed. All you had to begin your search was coordinates to a Galran outpost and a scribbled letter in an alien language you couldn’t read. It seemed too good to be true that after years on your own, years spent searching through the known universe, this Galra general claimed to be your father. You didn’t believe him. 

“Let me go!” you yelled, thrashing around in frustration. 

“Stop! You’ll hurt yourself,” Sendak huffed, reaching to settle you down. 

You recoiled from him and kicked him in the leg. Sendak was surprised by the strength in your kick but felt a sense of pride in knowing that was the Galra in you; that was his DNA giving you strength. 

“What do you care anyway?! You’ll just send me to your gladiator ring!” 

“Why would I send my own child into the gladiator ring?” asked Sendak, genuine confusion across his features. 

You stared in disgusted disbelief at him. This giant, purple koala looking alien still claimed to be your father? Anger washed over you and with a frustrated yell, you broke free of your restraints, lunging at Sendak with the full force of your anger. 

“I am not your child! Now, I am walking out of here to go find my real father and if you stop me I am going to hurt you,” you threatened, sneering at Sendak. 

Your eyes darted around frantically as you backed away from Sendak and the sentry guards still left standing, acutely aware that they could attack you at any time. 

“Stop! I am your father, child. Look.” Sendak pressed something on his gauntlet and from it a picture was projected in front of him. 

You felt your heart sink to your stomach as you took in the image-a photo of Sendak beside your mother and in her arms, a tiny baby bundled into a blanket. It was you.

All the excitement and eagerness to get there had finally settled into a nervous uneasiness in the pit of your stomach. Lance gently squeezed your hand, bringing your thoughts back to reality. You both stood in front of the door to his house, somewhere you weren’t sure you’d be at until now.

Lance tried to act composed for your sake, but you could tell he was about to burst with happiness. “Are you ready?”

You swallowed back your fears that his family wouldn’t like you and nodded. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

okay so I’m making reader younger than Allura just because I think that works out better like idk maybe Altean magic works on skill and you get better when you train more and/or are older (also this got really long oops)

You could feel the anger and tension building bit by bit in the small, confined room. That was a perk of your stronger Altean magic; something Allura had never quite grasped. On one side of the room stood the ‘Defenders of the Universe’, lead by your little sister-Princess Allura of Altea. You could feel her anger directed at you but underlying all that anger, there was confusion, wariness and the strongest emotion, hurt. 

“Well, this is certainly an interesting family reunion.” Lotor grinned from where he was bound to the wall on the other side of the room.
