every once in a while i think about how when i was 11 my first ever experience playing skyrim was getting out of the tutorial area with barely any health, getting into riverwood, stealing like 4 cabbages, and immediately getting punched by the old lady in town so hard that i died

honestly it might only be surpassed by the time later in that same playthrough where i somehow managed to scale up the wrong side of high hrothgar, fall off the mountain, climbed up the SIDE WITH ACTUAL STAIRS, and then ended up with the horrible rng of a dragon spawning as soon as i got to the frost troll. it proceeded to kill the troll and then almost immediately got stuck in the side of the mountain and i shot at it with iron arrows until it died and ragdolled down the slopes. i think i was like.. level 4

also this isn't symbolism but i Did decide that when jackal absorbs a dragons soul a like. sort of echo lives in them. they get the instincts and behaviors of whichever dragon they killed, just enough that they're like "is that me? is that them? girl idk i just work here,"

I adore the idea of the absorbed dragons living on in at least some way. I ended up using an idea like that myself too (bonus points for Mirmulnir in particular being prominent)
