#hatermoment but. i rlly do feel like gmgri make each other Noticeably Worse. like obviously the rps element of it Is There and cannot be unseen once seen but the. iidk the way they both push e/o's tropes (see: gem pushing the "he's just a wittle guy!!!" for gri and gri pushing the #girlboss gem agenda) feels. idk how to put it. Not Good. and those two things feed into each other bc then gri plays up his own incompetence and reliance on gem and then gem plays up her own "i'm the only sane person here" card and lauds gri for doing the bare minimum like listening to her sometimes and it's just. a neverending cycle. where they're both further flattened into kind of deeply uninteresting tropes of themselves that the fandom have already bought into. which also Does feel like a larger consequence of g*ggs stuff? <- idea that is circling in my brain but i can't explain it fully. idk like if you like those tropes i understand but for me i feel like i'm watching the kind of selective breeding that created flat-faced cats and pugs whose eyes are about five seconds from popping out of their skull when i see them.
