General facts

-> Arcana has a ridiculous amount of mana. Nearly triple the amount of even a royal blooded mage. This amount of mana is typical for her bloodline. Due to this vast amount, they (including her) struggle with mana control and require persistent and precise practice with their spells.

-> In a modern setting, she would dress in a whimsigoth style of mostly shades of purple. I’d like to think she would be into all sorts of witchy things and even do tarot like I do.

-> Arcana is not great at being a parent despite having three children. She had Huron young and couldn’t handle being a mother so her relationship with her is distant at best. She shows blatant favoritism towards Salem because he looks just like his father. She isn’t good at interacting with Solikha and Solikha has grown to resent her behavior— though, Solikha does still love her and longs for her to try a little harder.

-> Arcana’s dynamic with the devil she has a contract with (Perdita) is not as solid as other contracts characters have. Perdita only assists her when blackmailed into it. Usually, Arcana uses Conleth’s (her father) trust against Perdita as the devil is emotionally and romantically attached to him and will not risk his ire.

-> Arcana dies due to her contract with Perdita eventually. The price for a much needed edge being a chunk off her lifespan. Perdita has a host (Conleth) and isn’t interested in having another, so she prefers to accept deals only if she gets lifespan in return. Not for her, but for Conleth. As time goes on, Arcana slowly gets weaker and more devil-like until she kicks the bucket.

-> Arcana’s curse, the one that makes her always cold, was inflicted by a devil she fought and almost died to. However, the power to curse with that attack came from Megicula whose intention was to sacrifice her like they did with Acier. Thanks to using firemint to smother the curse’s effects, the curse was left incomplete and Arcana did not work as a sacrifice.

-> As a paladin, Arcana is forced into a purified host of Perdita and is thus able to use sulphuric flame magic or azure flame magic as most would see it as. She has vents along her ribs to prevent her from exploding due to high heat and will literally radiate mass amounts of heat, burning everything that comes too close. The two thoughts Lucius ingrains into her are that he is righteous and that she must protect Zenon’s body (but I think the second one was gonna be there anyway).

-> As a paladin, she usually relies on the Hellfire Lance… however, she is also seen mimicking the various flame magic users in her life. She might breathe out flames like a dragon like Conleth. Or she might create swords of flame like Allen.

-> The Hellfire Lance she wields is a magic lance crafted by the Lindwyrm bloodline and imbued with vast amounts of flame magic from many generations. It’s designed to look vaguely like a really long fire poker. It has runes carved along the blade and staff that translate to “Lindwyrm” and “burn to ashes”. The runes on the blade enchant the weapon to only be held by Lindwyrms or those with permission from one to touch it— as to prevent it from being stolen. The runes along the staff enchant the weapon to shift from metal to flame.

-> The Hellfire Lance is also designed to react to Perdita’s sulphuric flame magic. When Perdita’s magic is imbued into it while in its flame state, the flames will turn blue as it becomes influenced by her. No matter what color the flames are, the lance will always incinerate the target as long as it stabs it good enough; however, when the lance is blue, it will incinerate any opponent even if the strike isn’t good.

-> Silver eyes are a dominant gene in her bloodline.

-> The Ambrose bloodline was once referred to as Spade’s Guard Dogs. They are no longer what they once were so this name is confined to history books.

-> The Ambrose and Lindwyrm families have been comrades for 1000 years.

-> Arcana is sometimes seen riding a giant wolf covered in curse marks and runes. It was cursed by her ancestor, Epsilon, who was Megicula’s very first human host. This wolf is called the Hellhound. I’d say it’s roughly the size of a draft horse.

-> The Ambrose family were matriarchal and oftentimes showed misandristic behavior. Though, for them, these feelings were vindicated as the men in their bloodline had less mana and less refined illusions. The only exception to this being Epsilon as a devil host.

Design facts and stuff

-> Arcana’s voice claim is Neve Campbell specifically as Kiara in the Lion King 2.

-> Arcana’s birthday is January 1st. I picked this as it’s close to mine, makes her a Capricorn which makes her compatible with Zenon on paper, and New Years is generally viewed as a new beginning— symbolizing her and Zenon getting back together after their breakup.

-> Arcana is 175cm, making her a pretty tall lady.

-> Generally, Arcana is heterosexual but she isn’t interested in anyone but Zenon. She is a cis and uses she/her pronouns.

-> She wears armored boots so she can kick people harder, not to protect her feet.

-> Her main inspirations were the concept of sirens (mostly the song Suffering from Epic the Musical), shiny Zoroark, Itachi Uchiha, and Hitoshi Shinso. Though, her outfit inspiration came from Sugarfly Cookie.

-> Generally, her personality is obsessive and reserved. Slightly yandere but less violent. She can be somewhat dense at times but she isn’t stupid. She can be very stubborn and nearly rivals Asta in the sheer determination to get back up.

-> She smells like a mix of lavender and smoke.

-> Her favorite time of day is midnight.

-> She smokes or drinks firemint but also enjoys the occasional cigarette.

-> Her personality type is ISTP.

-> Her blood type is AB-.

-> Her favorite things are Zenon, Allen, Conleth, scaring people on purpose, and close combat sparring.

-> Her favorite food is any kind of fruit.

-> It’s funny to say but her most notable feature other than her hair is her chest. Definitely bigger than the average woman in the Black Clover world lol. I can’t seem to ever draw them the same size 😭 DD at least. AT LEAST. Idek.

-> Very similar to me, she generally doesn’t really know what she wants to do in life. She just does whatever Zenon’s doing. Though, she additionally has the issue of not really having any hobbies. She likes some things but not enough to say she loves doing that particular thing. Conleth describes her as a “blank slate” of sorts.

-> The flower that I associate with her is wisteria.

-> If she were an animal, she would be an okapi.
