The main reason the Conservatives have held onto power for the past 10 years is because they’ll get their portion of the votes, and then all the other votes from people who don’t want a Conservative leader end up split between the other parties.

So how do we change this? You find out who the most popular non-Conservative party in your riding is with this site (just enter in your postal code) and vote for them. That way we can hopefully ensure that we unite our votes under a non-Conservative party and prevent them from obtaining the seats they need to gain power.

I know that may mean you’ll find yourself voting for a party you don’t 100% agree with, and that may make you uncomfortable. But if you want the Conservatives out of power, uniting out votes behind the party most likely to get a seat in our riding and prevent the Conservatives from taking that seat is the most logical way to do it.

Again, enter in your postal code to this site and please please please make your vote count by uniting it behind the most likely non-Conservative party to win.

So with Bill C51 the government can now arrest people without due process, and now under C24, they can deport someone even if they are a Canadian citizen. Harper claims this to be a part of his “anti-terrorism” measures…

A two-litre jug of orange juice was selling for $26.29 at one local grocer; a four-litre bottle of milk was $10.39, with a sign advising shoppers it would be $20.91 without the federal Nutrition North subsidy. The food bank itself is running hand to mouth — a sign of the strain on Iqaluit’s social services.

Canada’s Stephen Harper government is spending more than 60 billion dollars on new military jets and warships while slashing more than 200 million dollars in funding for research and monitoring of the environment.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his federal government continue to reject calls for a formal study into the prevalence of aboriginal women whose lives end in violence, with opponents calling his latest tact unnecessarily “callous” and another sign that things won’t change.

During an end-of-year interview with CBC News, Prime Minister Stephen Harper reiterated that an inquiry was not a priority for the government at this time.

These are all issues that have been widely talked about, but I haven’t seen enough posts going around that actually urge Canadians to step up their game and act.

Please help us to bring these matters to Harper’s attention. The “if it isn’t being acknowledged by the majority, then it must not be important” mentality is not an acceptable option when dealing with hunger and missing people. Feel free to add on more news clippings or issues to this post. There are many problems at hand that need to be seen, acknowledged, and resolved.
