“What day works for you? I would love to come see Eva and Ivar.” Thor says proudly as he would even take time out of an entire day to spend with them too. “I think I am going to try and stay for a while, except for a few quick trips back to Asgard. I’ve made promises to Tova to take her back there for a few days.”

“Thank you.” Thor nods with the smile on his features. “Well the gesture is appreciated. How is everything?”

“I have considered it, but why spend all that time practicing if I can get a similar result by just using a big gun?” Elias had almost always looked for shortcuts or ways to do less work.  “Besides, all that practice would be wasted. I don’t plan on doing much shooting in my life.”

Alexandra sighed, absently crossing her arms across her torso. It will come. She nodded. She knew she looked like a monster, that Killgrave was a monster. “Yeah,” she said softly, thinking of Lily and Lyra. Even Dani, who had every reason to stay away from her, didn’t. “It’s just hard,” she admitted. To herself she sounded whiny, like a complaining child, but she’d been told to be honest in these sessions. She wiped her eyes, embarrassed. “I’m sorry.”

she knew that look. that look of disbelief that said ‘ you died, we mourned you for months, we buried you, what are you doing here ? ‘ she’d seen it more times than she could count by now. she should make business cards that explained the whole story.

business cards would also save her the guilt she felt every time she had to stare a loved one in the face, accept that she had caused them so much pain. she knew it wasn’t her fault—she didn’t want to die in the first place, but the guilt was inevitable. ❝ hey, ❞ she finally said. ❝ it’s me. ❞

it wasn’t easy. to mourn. especially when you’re a goddess and everyone around you never dies. gods don’t die. that’s what so great about them ; you won’t ever have to mourn their deaths ( unless said gods kill your children for ridiculous reasons. ) the last time sigyn had mourned was when her twin boys had been killed by their grandfather and not only had they been killed but it had been gruesome and violent. it was something she never wanted to remember and yet it was always playing over and over again in her mind.

❝ i don’t see why not, ❞ she shrugs, setting down the papers she was grading. ❝ these can wait. ❞

“You look well, Sigyn! This is a holiday here among the Midgardians.” Thor smiles back at her at that. “You do not need to thank me. You are a great mother!”
