Blue tit (Juvenile/Fledgeling)
why is this the hottest thing i've ever seen
HE SHOWED UP WITH A DUEL DISK TODAY?????
AND ALL FIVE EXODIA PIECES
I need everyone to know that I looked it up, and Noah Lyles is doing this as part of an ongoing bet he has with shotput competitor Chase Jackson. She's wearing Naruto accessories every day, and if Lyles whips out Yugioh cards at every race, then for the shotput finals Jackson will re-enact the scene of Rock Lee dropping his weights.
This is now the only part of the Olympics that I care about.

my advice to you is to never waste your time trying to fit into a club or hobby or any community who makes you beg for acceptance and approval just to participate when you could do the alternativeāget involved in a niche and endangered hobby run primarily by old people.
i wanted to learn how to hunt ruffed grouse and train bird dogs so i sent an email to my local chapter of the ruffed grouse society explaining that getting into wildlife groups is intimidating to me because Iām trans
and all they saw was that someone under 60 wanted to learn to hunt grouse & several months into my mentorship I was told that like 7 old guys argued over me until they had to pick a number between 1 and 100 to decide who got to personally mentor me.
imagine vying for the acceptance of some gatekeeping weirdos when your mere interest could be inciting verbal combat among retirees
my mentor was so sweet & funny too. he suggested we meet over lunch first so he could tell me about what to expect before we got started & I emailed back āIām ready to get started right away!ā
and he said āI was actually suggesting lunch first for your comfort on the assumption you wouldnāt want to get together with a man youāve never met, in the woods with a gun.ā
Like, I trusted him because of the referrals I got from one of my professors but like, right you are sir fair enough. Lunch it is.

You know, one time I read a fanfic and it triggered my psychosis, sent me into a month long episode THEN a whole year later I was on ao3 just mindlessly scrolling, I came across the fanfic title and it gave me a panic attack, but something compelled me to click it, i didn't read it but i did scroll through it, why? mental illness.
So like... ya
This is me responding to your old(?) post about someone else's fiction not being able to hurt you, this is probably just a me thing but mental illness makes you do things and react to things in insane ways that sometimes you cant control. I knew while reading that it was affecting me in some way, but I kept reading because well, I'm mentally ill, and then a month of my life dissapeared lol
I think I'm trying to make a point about something but I'm not sure
I did after the fact comment to the author and just kinda, told them about what happened, but I didn't harrassed them or something, -
-but when something does what this fanfiction did to me then you're basically obligated to let the creator know I think(they are a really good writer), I'm an adult and the fanfic was in the ballpark of something I would read and if like, 59% of it was taken out and it had a happy ending I would be fine but oh well
Oh boy, I'm starting to have a panic attack just typing this out holy hell anyways uh, I'm not disagreeing with you(?) but I am saying, don't be too quick to dismiss someone who says a piece of fiction fucked with them? idk sorry, have a good one
My friend, the fiction didn't harm you.
Your mental illness harmed you.
Random writers on the internet are not responsible for managing your mental illness for you.
You are responsible for managing your mental illness.
I knew while reading that it was affecting me in some way, but I kept reading because well, I'm mentally ill
This is self harm. You were engaging in self-harming behavior by continuing to read a fanfiction that you knew was triggering to you.
š You are responsible for managing your mental illness.
š Writers are not responsible for managing your mental illness for you.
And I hate to tell you this but messaging the author about it was absolutely harassing the author.
Gently, I gotta suggest that if you can be triggered to a psychotic state by reading a fic and if you have a panic attack sending a message via Tumblr ā maybe the internet is not good for your mental health, anon.
Beginner Hiking Guide: Gear - What to Bring Hiking
What you want to bring with you on a hike will vary depending on what kind of hike youāre doing. If youāre going on a very short (under an hour) and easy hike on highly-trafficked and easily accessed trails for instance, you may not need to bring much at all -- though I always recommend a water bottle, sun protection and a hoodie or something. But if youāre doing a longer trek on backcountry trails out in the wilderness, youāll want to bring quite a bit more with you, because the stakes are higher if things go wrong.
My general rule of thumb is: Pack for the Worst Case Scenario.
What is the worst that could happen if you get lost or injured? How long would it take for someone to find you if your phone died and you couldnāt call for help? If you get stuck out overnight, how cold is it going to get, and will you be able to survive it? How about if you have to wait several hours for a rescue party to carry you out if you canāt walk?
I carry a bunch of emergency items in my pack that, on an ideal hike, I never need. But if things donāt go ideally, given the places and conditions I hike in, they could save my life. In the list below, Iāve put an asterisk next to items I recommend packing even for short day hikes (2 hours or less)
So letās start with the most important thing:
You Need a Backpack.
If youāre going to carry supplies, you need something to carry them in, and a backpack is the easiest, most comfortable way to do so that wonāt compromise your balance or leave you unable to use your hands on a hike. (On short outings, fannypacks are great, but youāll want a backpack if youāre going out into backcountry).
DON'T: use a drawstring backpack -- this will dig painfully into your shoulders pretty quickly.Ā
DO: use a backpack with a waist/hip strap (and chest strap if possible). Having more of your packās weight on your hips than on your shoulders will cut down on back pain! The more adjustable, the better; you want to be comfortable.
There are really great hiking specific backpacks out there, but they are on the pricey side. Itās something where, if you plan on doing hiking more regularly, I would recommend investing in a good pack, but for your first time your old book bag will probably do okay.
The Ten Essentials
Every time I see another ibuprofen post on this site I'm like STOP
STOP
Stop.
Take that after a meal. Take it with a big glass of water. Don't take it on an empty stomach EVER. Don't take it with alcohol. You will destroy your stomach. You will end up with an ulcer. You will vomit blood. I'm not exaggerating.
Yes, you. Yes, it will happen to cute little you. With your cute little bottle of miracles. Ibuprofen really does that to your body.
Love, an adult person over 35 who can't take NSAIDs anymore
That goes for Alleve (Naproxen Sodium) too! Aleve is worse on your stomach than Ibuprofen is.
Acetaminophen, not a NSAID, even more so that NSAIDS, should not be taken when drinking. No seriously, it causes liver and stomach damage (and it's particularly hard on the liver to start with).
Painkillers are great! But the common ones are still nasty on your stomach and liver and eventually they won't be an option for you. If you take them with care, you can extend how long you can keep using them.
The sources linked are great but the tone of this post is such that it really only serves to make people anxious rather than to inform. The least you could do is mention what daily dose is safe (1200 milligrams per day for ibuprofen, preferably not for extended periods) and how often you would have to take ibuprofen on an empty stomach for it to make you start vomiting blood (very, very often).
The risk of destroying your stomach with an NSAID if you use it a few days in a month, and no more than the recommended dosage, is low. Usually, well before you would start vomiting blood, you'd get stomach pains and acid reflux. These can be warning signs that your stomach is sensitive to NSAIDs.
Acetaminophen is one of the greatest drugs we have. We have no painkiller with less side effects than acetaminophen has. It's ridiculously safe compared to other painkillers, even to other drugs. It's so safe that a lot of the reported side effects and deaths are due to other active ingredients (think children taking acetaminophen syrups that also contain propylene glycol, which is a lot more toxic).
It won't destroy your stomach or liver if you know how much to take, and is actually the first choice painkiller in many countries. It is way less harsh on your stomach lining than NSAIDs are, and liver damage is rare and usually only occurs at 150mg/kg a day (so, for someone weiging approx. 145 pounds, that would be around 10.5 grams, when the recommended maximum daily intake is 4 grams). Of course if you take your paracetamol with alcohol, you can damage your liver with less, but you shouldn't (routinely) combine any (pain) medication with alcohol, frankly. Additionally, you should always be cautious if you have had, or are suffering from liver disease.
Recommended maximum dosages are:
Acetaminophen: no more than 3000-4000mg per day
Ibuprofen: no more than 1200-1600mg per day
Naproxen: no more than 500-750mg per day
When taking painkillers, make sure the daily dose is equally spaced over the day. If you get stomach complaints after taking NSAIDs, consider taking them with PPIs to protect your stomach lining (such as omeprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole). You can take the listed PPIs once or twice daily, up to 80mg per day. Depending on the country you live in they could be available over the counter or on prescription.
It's important to realise that if you regularly need painkillers, let's say for more than 10 days each month, or more than 5 days at a time, that's worth contacting your doctor about.
If you use acetaminophen and NSAIDs incidentally (with or without PPIs), then they're absolutely safe (if you didn't already have a gastric ulcer, liver problems, you don't take them with (large) amounts of alcohol, or other medication that damages your stomach lining). But if you need them (near) daily, then you should seek medical advice, to make sure you don't destroy your stomach and liver, definitely, but also to figure out if there's an underlying cause.
It's not recommended to use acetaminophen or ibuprofen daily, but I think it's important to realise that there are many people in the world that are prescribed acetaminophen or NSAIDs for (near) daily use, and that many of these people use them for years on end, and they don't all succumb to liver failure or vomiting up their own blood.
The most important thing is being informed. Not scared. Informed.

every time I hear someone say āwe should just get rid of physical shops and have everything onlineā I get a bit angry because
a) physical shops are important for those who donāt have access to a computer/ internet/ ect
b) those āweirdā and ānicheā shops I love so much donāt have the same vibe online, they turn into just another website
c) I hate paying for shipping
d) it is in fact often impossible to assess the quality, appearance and just how accurate the dimensions of the item are if you want to buy from just an image
e) sometimes you want or need the thing NOW
