You may think this is just another magazine spread. It's not. This is a milestone. For her... and for me. As a creative, a business owner, a woman of color, & as an artist. For countless others who yearn to see themselves represented, to be heard, and to feel connected. It's important for US. . I live to serve others and tell stories thru the fabric of my work. Whether it's writing songs, recording an album, creating and running a buzzing creative agency with my bff, or taking on clients, whom I can help soar to fulfill their purpose and potential! I AM IN THE BUSINESS IF HELPING WOMEN! Period. So... I need people to know her story. I need people to know our story. Eventually, I'll tell mine too. I want to help more women tell their stories; to help other women and so on, and so forth. Why??? Because it's important!!! . Fall in your ways... so you can wake up and rise.

So I had a moment today where I had to remind someone and myself, that most of us are only doing the best we can at any given moment. Yes when we go thru things, we learn and grow. And when we know better; most of us, do better too. But that's doesn't meant that we can't leave room for forgiveness, compassion and empathy in any given moment with any given person, instead of being quick to get upset, impatient, dismissive, etc. Most times that tiny, instant inclination to have a negative reaction and eye roll moment when someone does something we feel is unacceptable, comes from a disconnection within ourselves. A lack of recognition that most people are simply just doing their best. Including ourselves. I grapple with this sometimes and in this moment today, I reminded myself and mitigated my reaction. Anyway, just thought I'd share that and hope that we all just remember to be a bit gentler, more kind and connected with each other. #notsorandomthoughts ❤

#tbt... taking a studio break from recording, last year in my second home, #London. This was the time I started revamping my creativity, my direction & trajectory. This is when my art became a tool for change. I began recording, what would eventually be my album, and then founded @thecgirlinc with @stylebytori shortly after. So much has happened in a year! So grateful for the journey and excited for what's to come. Thanks to those who have supported me along the way! Sometimes the things we initially think of as distractions, are really just the universe's way of adjusting our path, to make sure we adhere to divine timing. Often want things to work out how and when we want them to, and that's just simply not the case. I often struggle with my patience when it comes to the timing of things, and have learned to slow down and just let things happen with more ease. I'm constantly working on being more graceful with everything, and more respectful of TIMING. And it's not easy! My perceptive has shifted, and allowed me to see that I can either ride the waves of time, as they ebb and flow, or I can exhaust myself trying to swim again the tides of time. The latter often ending in results I do not want, and the former being more beneficial to me in in most cases. I'm learning to navigate TIME. And as I do, I can see things more clearly. It really is true what they say....timing is EVERYTHING!
