My entry for jbuffyangel's Letters to Oliver contest
Alright folks, you ready? Lets do this. The lights are off when he steps at the bottom of the stairs and a deep chill settles over him, raising goosebumps up and down his arms. He's just decided to turn around and walk back up the stairs when he sees her. Felicity is seated on the floor facing the sharp glass case, unblinking, silent tears coating her cheeks. Roy curses softly and moves swiftly, crouching down in front of her. She doesn't make a move, just stares through him. He doesn't know what to do; dealing with emotions is not his thing. He takes a deep breath and tries anyway. "Hey, he's gonna come back." She blinks then, as if she just realized he was there, and visibly flinches. A sharp laugh escapes her but it sounds like a sob to his ears. "I don't think he is this time." She looks down and he stupidly follows her gaze. His breath catches and he think his heart might have stopped. There in Felicityās lap is a sword, tip coated in a dark red. "Merlyn brought it. I tested it. Its his." Her head is still bowed and he hears her voice waver towards the end. He longs to scream, to rage, to fight, to demand the truth. But this is Felicity and there is no way she wouldn't fight if it wasn't true, especially if it concerns his death. So he takes his hoodie off and wraps it around her shoulders. She raises her eyebrows at him and he sighs. "You should head home. You need to sleep." Felicity goes to protest but he cannot deal with this right now so he stands and tries his best Arrow imitation. "If he's dead, he isn't ever coming back and you need to realize that. Staring at his suit isn't going to make everything better. You need to go home and process." She grumbles but he thinks she's too emotionally worn out because she stands and moves up the stairs without a sound. Roy moves then, putting his hands on the cold metal table behind him and staring straight at the green hood. His breath hitches over and over and he feels his control slipping. Anger courses beneath his skin. "You bastard! Do you have any idea what you've done?" The suit just stares back at him, mocking him with silent contempt. He growls and races forward. Fist meets glass and his anger flees as the shards fall over him, their cool surfaces tying him to reality. Something wet falls down his cheeks and he blinks rapidly as his breath comes out in quick gasps. "I needed you. Do you hear that? I needed you." Then he takes a moment to get everything under control before he rushes up the stairs. Someone needs to make sure Felicity makes it home safely and it sure isn't going to be Oliver. he lights are off when he steps at the bottom of the stairs and a deep chill settles over him, raising goosebumps up and down his arms. There are two kinds of writing; the one you write and the one that writes you. The one that writes you is dangerous. You go where you donāt want to go. You look where you donāt want to look.

So, just to add the overall married-ness that was Olicity in the Flash episode, charshadowdancer looked up the word āhockā - because I thought it was āhawkā until someone pointed out that I was wrong - and, as it turns out, āhockā is Yiddish slang that means āto...

Arrow vs. Flash Ramblings (shut up, it should be alphabetical)
God bless the Arrow/Flash writers. This episode had so many layers and was incredibly enjoyable. Can Iris and I be besties? That whole coffee shop scene was great. We got fangirling!Iris, totally married Olicity and Barry being confused. And then David Ramsy Diggleing this episode out. We were lacking on the Digg screne time, but what we did get was perfection. Seriously, his freak out over Barry's speed was hilarious. I have come to the realization that I do not want Westallen to be canon because that means the breakup of the adorable Iris/Eddie ship. Do they have a name? Eris? Iddie? Ugg, those are terrible. Do not listen to my horrible naming fandom! I probably have a lot of proof of why Eris (whatever, its catchy) is meant to be, but I'm too tired. Sorry anyone who cares. Now on to the important things. Oliver my baby! This episode brought together everything I love about Oliver Queen together. His sassyness, his determination, his humor (hello adorable smile at Iris' fangirling), His charm (Hello again Iris), his felicityouareadorableandiloveyouletmeLOVEYOUohwaiticantbecauseihaveextrememanpainand pushedyouawayohwhyamisointoangst look, his survival mode, his arrowness, and his injured face. Lots and lots of injured face. Wow that list is longer than I planned. This episode might of been Flash, but it was Oliver centric. This episode made me want to just hold onto him and never let go. Oliver was in such a good mood this episode and he got emotionally battered. First we have Barry coming into the picture. No one will be able to convince me that Oliver knew about the Barry/Felicity moment on the train. In his mind, Barry is still the boy that Felicity was incredibly into, and after Ray it must have been hard to be reminded that he pushed Felicity away and that she wouldn't stay around when there were emotionally available men attracted to her. Then Barry gets all drugged up on magical-eye-anger-drugs (just one look and you're troubles will be gone. Who doesn't want to take a sludge hammer to the neighbor who always go through your mail?) and has to kick Oliver in the feels. Leave my poor boy alone Barry! Oliver and Barry fight and you definetly see Oliver's time on the island shine through. Oliver has determination and deeply ingrained survival instincts that Barry lacks. Digg is right once again; experience wins every time. Shut up Cisco, Oliver totally won; he had him in a freaking headlock! Then we have the completely heartbreaking conversation at the coffee shop. "Guys like us don't get the girl." On top of that he runs into his baby momma and actually remembers her! This is the guy who slept with so many girls, he cant tell Eve from Adam. If that doesn't tell you how deeply the experience of thinking he lost his baby effected him, then somethings wrong with you. Yay Team Arrow knows what up. Yes my babies, something is definitely off about Dr. Wells. Olicity will rule the world. That speech at the end? Totally married. On a semi unrelated note, Cisco, I appreciated your refrence. Oh and Ronnie! And Catelyn! Ugg the feels. Catelyn and Felicity should start a adorable girls with technology club. (SmoakingSnow: we've got neat names and the attitude to match and what do you have? A bow and super fast legs. We rule.)
So I've finally been able to sit down and explore tumblr and its like I've stepped into some fairytale world.Ā

Olicity Theme Returns: Hope Still Very Much Alive
Also on AO3
Well, wasnāt 3.07 just a bundle of joy? Thank you, writers, for the practice round of what Iām sure will be hell served up in a basket come winter hiatus. This was just the warm up, folks. Get ready. Winter is coming.
This meta will be strictly about the Olicity Theme, so I recommend you read my first meta on this song to understand the implications of its two brief but important appearances in this episode. I will admit, at first I was a little upset they played the Olicity Theme when they did, because it felt misplaced when I first watched the episode. But after a second watch, I gained better understanding. So this meta will serve as a ādefenseā of why the Olicity Theme plays when it does in 3.07. Alrighty then. Lots of information to cover. Letās do this.

Finally, Oliver asks Felicity out to dinner
And, of course,it had to go wrong. But at least we had this.
But we have faith causeā¦
But then this happened
So right now, we all are like this. Waiting the midseason finale.
