I'm a waitress, so naturally, whenever I serve families, I get little kids trying to tell me about their day. Any kid under 10 cannot carry a proper story or really a conversation without changing the topic 15 ish times. They don't have the attention span. A little girl noticed that I wasn't wearing a skirt anymore (I'd switched for my pants because it was getting chilly as the night went on) and legit thought my skirt could transform into pants at my whim. Refused to believe that I just brought a change of clothes.
We have a big fake fish hanging on one of our walls, a kids dad lifted him up so he could touch it. Despite having felt it and being told it was made of wood, he kept believing that it was a real fish someone caught and taxidermied for us.
Little kids think their new sneakers make them faster and that Elmo is actually talking to them on the TV. Do you know why people don't take off the baby proofing from their house after their kid is out of diapers? Because little kids are walking kamakaze pilots who are on missions to kill themselves. That's why we put locks on the gates going into pools and in front of stairs. That's why we don't let little kids use the stove to cook their own Alphagetties. Children do not have a proper understanding of the world, consequences, or reality. They do not "feel like a boy" they just like trucks and you've taught them that only boys can like trucks.
