I know these are issues everywhere and nowhere is devoid of them entirely, but I must say that while cis communities are tripling down on fatphobia and lookism, all the trans people I know are happily gaining weight & showing off scars and stuff. as the allowable bodily diversity in media shrinks at an accelerated pace, everyone in my circles are socially reproducing a way of living that prioritizes eating enough & demanding the healthcare we need & openly and affectionately admiring bodily variation of all forms on each other

it really emphasizes for me that the manufactured eugenic body standards imposed externally do not need to be internalized in how we perceive each other. despite billions of dollars poured into this effort, we can literally just not go along with it.
