there are times he does reach for your hand, of course, like if you're spooning him, he likes to put his hand on yours where you hug him across his ribs.

if he notices you're fidgeting or nervous. he squeezes your hand to remind you he's there, that he loves you.

if he notices your hands are cold, his are covering yours in an instant, rubbing warmth back into them until he's safisfied that you are no longer apparently at risk for frostbite. if you're on the move together, he's holding one of your hands in his jacket pocket. and he will switch sides to ensure both of your hands are warm, if necessary.

additionally, he's never denying you or pulling away if you reach for his hand. he will gladly thread his fingers through yours, running a thumb over your knuckles until you're ready to let go.

but these are all specific circumstances. if he's needing to feel you, which he pretty much always does, he foregoes hand holding for something more intimate to him.

his go-to is a hand on the small of your back. whether he's passing by you in the kitchen and it's a brief touch, or he's standing next to you in the store while you're explaining something to him, palm pressed firmly to that dip in your back like it was carved out just for his hand.

if you're in the car together, his hand always finds its way across the console to grip your thigh. it doesn't matter which one of you is driving, his hand is always there, tapping his fingers to the radio, giving your leg a squeeze when you say something that makes him laugh.

you decide to wear bottoms with a pocket, with belt loops? his hand is finding its way in your back pocket as you walk wherever you're going. he can't help that you happen to own every pair of jeans that fit you perfectly. if he feels like it's a little too handsy for a public situation, he hooks his thumb into one of your back belt loops, his arm resting around your waist.

if his touches are a little possessive, so be it. you lean into him every time and he loves having you underneath his hands.

leon has a secret picture of you asleep on the couch, cat sprawled out on top of you hiding in his wallet that slips out when he’s fishing for his card. you’d pick it up and he’d play it off soooooo smoothly. “they always say never fall asleep first at the sleepover…” right…

he reads your books to you when you do your makeup and gives them his own little commentary. you are rarely offered knowing how he feels about anything but you imagine his verbal convictions suggests he has some semblance of inner monologue

leon has perfected the art of being your instagram photographer. he routinely raises your digital camera in front of his face until only his knitted brows protrude from behind the device and without failure produces the best photo you’ve ever seen of yourself. he’s real dedicated to his craft.

he has a pair of glasses he absolutely hates wearing. he seldom wears them around you and the first time he does it’s like hanging meat in front of a lion. almost always ends with you in your sweats slipping onto his lap and a “you come here often?” only followed by a “mmm”

leon likes skin to skin a lot. it’s not an indecent fascination but it’s almost a need for him to lift your shirt up and trace shapes on your spine in order for him to fall asleep

you taught him how to braid your hair and it becomes a habit reserved for when he’s especially disconsolate and afraid he’s going to lose you (if you ever hear him admit it you need to take immediate lethal action)

leon’s a big “tell me” guy, in general hes very commanding on the surface. in all actuality once dissected its very obvious it’s shrouded in consideration and that he would never intentionally act authoritative toward you

leon has a physical picture of you like everywhere. and i mean that. and they're all different, i think. he does this so that no matter what, no matter where he is or what he's doing, he'll have you there with him in one form or another.

he probably dug his old film camera out of storage and now it goes everywhere with him.

his favorite picture of you has to be a random one he took after getting back from a mission. he had just woken up and found you still sound asleep on the pillow beside him. this mission might've been a particularly bad one, and maybe he didn't think he'd make it back to see this moment. so he reached over for his camera and click! you looked so pretty in that moment, and now whenever he's having a hard time at work, he might steal a glance at that picture to remind him of the good morning that is sure to follow.

when he's home from missions, he's on your hip like a dog.

he follows you everywhere, and he makes sure you have everything you need.

you guys are doing everything together. whether that's grocery shopping, reading in the sun room, or going to the bathroom.

he looks forward to getting to mow the lawn when he gets home from missions. domestic chores are one of his favorite things about coming home.

leon is definitely the type to take care of everything financially. the bills, taxes, budgeting--all of that. you don't have to worry about a single thing.

leon does not expect you to be a stay-at-home spouse. he does not expect you to take care of the house or cook for him. as long as you are well cared for, he doesn't care what kind of house he comes home to. you're his home.
