The Heritage Commission of Saudi Arabia announced the discovery of several rock inscriptions dating to the earliest period of Islamic history. These inscriptions were found in Al Mahd Governorate within the Madinah region.

‎“The believer does not bargain over his religion — rather, he remains firm upon it!

‎Remaining steadfast and holding tightly to the religion is not extremism.”

قال شاعر:

فتشبهوا إن لم تكونوا مثلهم**إن التشبه بالكرام فلاحُ

A poet said (on the pious people of the past):

“Try to imitate them if you are not like them, Indeed in imitating the honourable lies success.”

‎Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah رحمه الله said:

‎“Products become expensive due to an increase in prices and are cheap due to a decrease of price. These two aspects are from the general occurrences which have no creator except Allaah Alone.

‎None of those things can occur except by Allaah’s permission and His capability. However, Allaah - Subhanahu - may place some of the actions of the slaves of Allaah as reasons and means for some occurrences. Just as like a murderer killing someone is the reasons for a death to occur.

‎Allaah causing an increase in prices could be due to the slaves of Allaah oppressing one another and the decrease in prices could be due to some people being good to others.”

He rarely laughs at the matters at which people laugh, due to the bad consequences of laughter. If he is pleased by something in accordance with the Truth, he smiles.

He dislikes joking, fearing frivolity: if he jokes, he speaks truth. He is accommodating in countenance, pure in speech.

He does not allow himself to be praised for qualities he has, how then for qualities he does not have?

He is wary of his self, that it should overcome him for what it desires, of the things that will anger his Master.

He does not backbite anyone. He does not look down upon anyone. He does not abuse anyone.

He is not happy at the affliction of others. He neither transgress upon anyone, nor envies him.

He does not think the worst about anyone, except for one who deserves it. He loves with knowledge, and hates with knowledge.

He speaks about a person’s faults only with knowledge, & remains silent about a person’s real nature with knowledge.

And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives And that his effort is going to be seen - Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense -

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief]. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
