I think fat representation is important no matter what. Fat people of all sizes are essential and should be welcomed in every space.
And as such, I wish there was more acceptance and positive portrayal of big fat, superfat, and infinifat people, both in the fat liberation community and in studies, books, shows, movies, etc. Yes, even the "gross," "weird," "ugly," and "unhealthy" ones.
We're common enough to be an epidemic, but not so common we can't see ourselves in superheroes, dancers, even background characters? Come on.
Thank you to all big fat, superfat, and infinifat people. You deserve the best and more.

I can’t put into words how dispiriting it is to watch all these plus size idols, celebrities, drag queens thin. The body positive movement wasn’t perfect, but we had made some progress. I watched Lizzo dance and flute in front of me and near cried. Watched mid-fat girls flourish in their new comfortable bodies now that they could breathe. Watched plus-size drag queens show they too could be sexy and not just a joke.
But Ozempic and weight loss drugs have snatched people up one by one. For every one there’s some reason it’s justified (oh, they did the work, oh but they might be pre diabetic, oh well they might need it though). Or there’s a celeb who lies about not taking it then admits they have.
And for every one of those, there’s a kid or woman watching who thinks it’s just supposed to be that easy to lose weight. Who thinks there’s something wrong with her if she can’t shed her body.
It’s the understudied weight loss drug of our generation, no different from the pills of before. In 20, 30 years we’ll be talking about all the side effects or failures and it will be a shame.
But that won’t come before a generation of young girls, boys, kids have to endure the big back jokes and Ozempic commercials and the internalization of the idea that skinny is healthy and skinny is what we should be and skinny is what is natural, and all big-boned and bodied girls could be skinny and happier and somehow better tomorrow if they just had the money and the prescription.
Anyway, go read some Aubrey Gordon and Kate Manne, please please please. Educate yourselves about fatness & fatphobia and be kind to yourselves and each other.

launching feedism.neocities.org - an indie web project documenting, archiving, and sharing everything about (and adjacent to) feedism!
hello fellow feedists! so uh… my girlfriend (@doughyfatfox 💕) and I have done A Thing - a fun (and most importantly, ethical kink + fat lib-informed) website that collects and archives everything about feedism! from a community-centred wiki about the kink and the history of feedism + fat admiration, to practical resources for feedists and even cheeky memes, we’re hoping for this to be both a personal + community-driven space to celebrate this wonderful kink of ours 💕.
so what inspired this?
well apart from life being a lil overwhelming, another reason why I’ve been a little inactive on here is because I’ve been inching away from traditional social media and revisiting my love for the old/indie web, a lil passion that me and my girlfriend both share 🥹💕.
another thing the both of us share is that… obviously… we’re feedists. Finding community was what brought us together in the first place, and talking at length about how we’ve discovered and explored this kink throughout our lives has brought us even closer. what the both us (and many others in the community I have spoken to) have come to realise is that - finding community and resources surrounding feedism is hard.
from examining what this kink really is and what it means for us, working through shame and internalised fatphobia, navigating what it means to practice feedism ethically and in alignment with fat liberation, and of course, the fun stuff of actually practicing it, of building our own relationship with pleasure and hedonism. to answer these questions often requires many great resources that are scattered all over the place. every time I encounter a Cool Feedist Thing I’ve always thought - damn I wish I had a place to store, categorise and even talk about it in a way that doesn’t get lost in my blog (shh, I know tagging is a thing, it’s not organised enough for me!!!) amidst tighter cens*rship.
so here we are! after about a week of combining our coding, art (especially @doughyfatfox’s, look at our cute background!! 🤩) and writing skills, our site is live!
NOTE: It is still a huge work in progress, and I think it always will be. we want the site to continuously grow 👀 as our community grows, as our collective history gets richer.
what do we have right now?
an entire about page on feedism! (still a wip)
essential feedism resources (e.g., kink jars, RACK worksheet), mostly stuff me and @doughyfatfox used/are using as we explore this kink together
feedist and feedism-adjacent memes, credits to @doughyfatfox’s elite collection
a page about fat liberation (also a wip)
what are we working on?
the whole website essentially 😅. It’s still quite a big wip, but I think we do already have quite a cool selection of stuff on there, enough that we hope it’ll be a fun browse!
happy browsing! 🍩 and stay tuned for @doughyfatfox’s reblog for more info, especially if you’d like to contribute to the site!
im gonna try to learn how to draw so that i can make a comic full of fat and disabled people so that we get more representation! (and the center of the comics is NOT going to be the fact that all the characters are fat and/or disabled, its just gonna be normal people!)
if anybody has good guides for learning how to draw FAT PEOPLE SPECIFICALLY, i would love them!
(also directing this to @fatliberation cuz they have a lot of followers that could be knowledgeable on this)
what has happened to my body in less than 12 months is nothing short of amazing. Look at how puffy my arms and moobs have become, and especially how low and rounded my gut is. 🥵🥵🥵

Please, please be considerate of your fat friends' needs and limitations.
Fat bodies are heavy to carry around. I move about the world slower than my thin peers, and I've often had to choose between pushing myself to keep a pace that takes absolutely all my energy, or being left behind, when walking in a group. I don't always feel safe to ask that everyone walk slower, because there's a prevalent idea in society that fat people need to exert themselves as much as possible at all times in the service of weight loss, and that we never "really" need rest, therefore it's a good thing whenever we're exhausted. Fat people and thin people alike are taught that fatness is a flaw, one that fat people ourselves are to blame for, so we're not entitled to any accommodation or consideration.
A friend of mine who is fat recently told me about a dinner party she went to where the chairs were far too small for her and she was sitting very uncomfortably. After the meal she politely suggested moving the party to the couch, but the others didn't want to. She spent another couple of hours in unnecessary pain, and didn't dare tell them about it.
I love my thin friends, but some of them just don't realize that I weigh probably twice as much as them, and yet I balance it all on the same size feet and carry it on about the same size bones. I'm like if they had a whole other them to carry around at all times. Why would that not have an impact on how I function?
Please - take us into consideration when we're part of activities. Ask us which activities work and which don't. Adjust the pace so no one has to be dry heaving and sweating barrels on what's supposed to be a casual walk. Make sure venues have seating that fits us. Make it safe for us to speak up if we need something. When we do, don't treat us like we're the problem.
Finally: yes, we have heard of losing weight. Even those of us who might (and many never will, whether you like it or not), won't do it on a moment's notice. If your response to "fat people deserve accommodations" is "what if they weren't fat though", you're playing a fantasy game. It's pointless. We are fat and we are here and we do partake in society. Work with that.
