JEONGHAN ⥠shaving away frustration [one shot]
pairing: jeonghan x gn!reader.
tags: established relationship, domestic fluff, caretaking, slice of life.
summary: Jeonghan struggles to shave after his injury, and you offer to help him.
warnings: razor and bleeding mention.
Youâre lounging on the couch, aimlessly scrolling through your phone, when a sudden crash comes from the bathroom, followed by an annoyed "Fuck."
"Hannie?" you call out, immediately getting up and heading toward the source of the noise. The bathroom door is ajar, and you see your boyfriend standing there with a small cut on his cheek.
"What happened?" you ask, grabbing a towel and gently pressing it against the cut to stop the trickle of blood.
He lets out a frustrated sigh. "I was trying to shave, but with my left hand, itâs almost impossible." He gestures to his right arm, immobilized in a sling after recent elbow surgery.
A wave of sympathy washes over you as you notice the strain in his eyes. You can see how tired he looks, and your heart aches for him. You examine the cut and feel relieved to see that the bleeding has already stopped.
Tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear, you offer, "Let me help you."
Jeonghan nods silently and sits down on the toilet seat.
"Whereâs the razor?" you ask.
He points to the sink with a pout. "I threw it. Got angry."
You suppress a smile, knowing how easily he can get frustrated when things donât go his way. Itâs just like him to take his frustration out on inanimate objects. You pick up the razor, then grab the can of shaving foam, squirting some into your hand before gently applying it to his face. He closes his eyes at your touch, the tension in his features softening slightly, though a trace of annoyance lingers.
"You know this is just temporary, right?" you say softly, trying to comfort him.
"I know⌠itâs just⌠not what I needed right now," he murmurs as you carefully glide the razor over his cheeks.
"I know, baby. Youâll heal soon," you assure him, placing a small kiss on his forehead before continuing.
Jeonghan opens his eyes and watches you intently. "Is this your first time shaving someone?"
You laugh lightly, shaking your head as you rinse the razor. "No, once I tormented my brother until he let me help him shave." You wet a towel and gently wipe the remaining foam off his face. "The first attempt was a disasterâthe bathroom looked like a horror movie set."
He chuckles at your story while you take some aftershave lotion and gently spread it over his smooth cheeks and chin.
"But I learned from my mistakes, and I think I did a pretty good job this time. How does it look?" you ask, smiling proudly.
He stands up and examines his reflection in the mirror, tilting his head from side to side. "Well⌠there are still some hairs here," he says, pointing to a spot on his cheek.
"Where??" You grab his chin, pulling his face toward you as you stand on your tiptoes, squinting to see better. "I donât see anythâ"
Jeonghanâs laughter interrupts you. "Joking."
You huff and give his chest a playful slap. "Idiot."
"You did a great job," he says, giving you a quick peck on the lips.
"I know," you reply triumphantly, turning away to close the lid on the shaving cream.
"I mean it, though. It means a lot that youâd do this for me," he adds, his tone softening as he lingers in the doorway, looking at you with those warm eyes.
"Although I feared for my life the entire time," he adds, quickly making his exit from the bathroom.
"Hey!" you call after him, your voice echoing down the hallway. You canât help but laugh, feeling grateful to know you made his day a little brighter.
note: since Jeonghan's actual elbow surgery happened back in 2022, this story has definitely been sitting in my drafts for far too long! please leave a like if you enjoyed it <3

Hi everyone,
I know this post might not interest everyone, but as an engene I felt like I needed to say a few words.
I wonât focus on the situation itself or share my thoughts about it here (but if anyone needs to talk or just wants to vent, my inbox is always open). Instead, I want to talk about how it will reflect on this account.
First of all, Iâve been following Enhypen since I-Land, and Heeseung has been my only bias since the very first time he appeared on screen.
Iâve always loved writing, but despite trying many times, I could never manage to finish a full story. Thatâs why I mostly wrote one shots. Then one day I tried writing a story about Heeseung, and somehow, by writing a little every day, I finally managed to finish The Best Way. Thatâs when I decided to start posting my stories, and this account was born.
Right now, Iâll admit that itâs not the easiest time for me. Music has always been one of the ways I deal with the difficulties of everyday life. When I feel anxious in the morning before going to work, listening to music helps calm me down. When I canât sleep at night, it distracts me from my thoughts. When I come home exhausted or when boredom takes over, watching content from the groups I follow makes me laugh until I cry. So when something upsetting happens to what has always been a source of happiness for me, it inevitably affects my daily life too.
It will probably take some time for me to fully accept and get used to this situation (especially considering how poorly the agency is handling it). However, even if Iâm not really in the mood to write right now, Iâll keep posting. I still have several one shots saved in my drafts, and theyâll help me get through this period.
As for Enhypen-related stories, the ones about Heeseung will remain in the Enhypen section, and the stories I might post in the future will most likely be OT7. (I also had another fanfiction about them in progress, but for now I will put it on pause).
I hope you can understand, and that you will continue supporting this account and reading my stories. Iâm truly grateful for every like, reblog, comment and request.
Thank you so much.

JUNGWON ⥠more than enough [one shot]
pairing: jungwon x f!reader.
tags: childhood friends, mutual pining, fluff, hurt/comfort.
summary: no matter how many years pass, whenever insecurities cloud your mind, Jungwon is there to bring back the light.
The house was just like you remembered: warm, cozy, and filled with memories. Jungwon had come home for the holidays, and it felt like the perfect opportunity for the two of you to spend some time together. Just like old times.
You were sitting on the couch, knees tucked under your chin. Your gaze drifted to the wall, landing on an old photo of the two of you when you were barely ten years old, grinning wildly after a day at the park. Back then, everything seemed easy. Now, though, your thoughts were a whirlwind of doubts.
You didn't even notice Jungwon walking back from the kitchen until he stopped beside the couch. He didn't sit down immediately; instead, he followed your gaze to the photo, then back to your face. His playful expression softened into something more observant.
âYouâve been staring at that photo for a while,â he said softly, finally plopping down beside you.
As he settled in, his foot brushed against yours. You were wearing the matching magnetic socks you'd bought togetherâyours were black and his were white. With a tiny, familiar click, the magnetic hands on the socks found each other and locked.
âWhatâs on your mind?â he asked. He nudged you with his elbow, trying to catch your gaze, but you kept staring at the little girl in the photo.
âItâs nothing,â you mumbled, but Jungwon wasnât one to let things go.
âYouâre a terrible liar,â he said, leaning closer. He reached for your hand, his expression serious. âCome on, talk to me. Is it about work? Or... you?â
You sighed, finally looking at him. "I just... I donât know. Looking at that photo, I feel like Iâve lost that version of me. Lately, I feel like Iâm not good enough at anything. Like Iâm failing at being... me."
Jungwon frowned. To him, you were the one person who always made sense. He hated that you felt this way. Slowly, he slid his fingers between yours, holding your hand securely.
âIâm too quiet, too awkward,â you continued, your voice barely a whisper. âI never say the right things, and Iââ
âStop.â Jungwonâs voice was firm but gentle. He turned your hand over in his, tracing circles on your palm. âStop talking like that.â
âYou know what I see when I look at you?â he began. âI see someone who always makes people feel comfortable. Someone who listensâreally listens. Itâs why I missed you so much while I was away.â
Your heart fluttered at the way he was looking at you.
âI love the way you laugh, and I love how you get excited about the smallest things... like how you insisted we wear these ridiculous socks today.â He smiled, glancing at the black and white socks still stuck together. âYou donât realize that you are already more than enough, just by being you."
âYou always make me sound better than I am,â you murmured.
âThatâs because you donât see yourself clearly,â he whispered, leaning in just a little closer. He glanced down at your lips for the briefest moment before meeting your eyes again. Your pulse quickened, but before the moment could get too heavy, he gave your hand a playful squeeze.
âIâm the expert on you, remember? Iâve been studying you since we were kids.â He reached for the remote and handed it to you. âNow, enough of the sad thoughts. You choose the movie tonight. Anything you want.â
You smiled, feeling the weight in your chest finally lift. âAnything? Even that three-hour documentary about rocks you hate?â
Jungwon groaned, but he was smiling. âIf it makes you happy, yes. Even the rocks.â
You started scrolling through the titles, feeling warm and safe, but then... a strange scent drifted into the room.
Jungwonâs nose crinkled. âDo you smell that?â
You sniffed the air. âIs something... burning?â
Jungwonâs eyes went wide. âThe popcorn!â
He jumped up and sprinted toward the kitchen.
You leaned back against the cushions, laughing loudly as the sound of clattering pots and Jungwonâs dramatic sighs echoed from the kitchen.
You looked back at the wall one last time and smiled. The girl in the photo was happy because she had him by her side. No matter how many years passed or how much you changed, you knew that with him, you would always be that same girlâsafe, happy, and understood.

TXT ⥠when their girlfriend has a really bad period [reactions]
pairing: txt x f!reader
tags: established relationship, slice of life, caretaking, domestic fluff.
summary: how the tomorrow by together members would take care of you during your period (requested).
warnings: period symptoms (migraine, nausea, cramps, back pain), blood leak.
YEONJUN
The sharp, rhythmic throbbing in your lower abdomen is what wakes you up. But the real panic sets in when you feel that familiar dampness. With a heavy sigh, you reach over to click on the bedside lamp. As you hesitantly pull back the duvet, you freezeâthe light revealing exactly what you feared: a dark stain spreading across the cream-colored sheets.
Before you can even mutter a curse under your breath, you feel a shift in the mattress. Yeonjun stirs, his hair messy and eyes half-closed from sleep, but he notices your rigid posture immediately.
"Baby?" he mumbles, his voice raspy and deep. He follows your panicked gaze down to the sheets. You start to apologize, your voice trembling from the pain and the sheer frustration of it all, but heâs already moving.
He doesn't flinch. He doesn't make a face or act awkward. Instead, he reaches out and gently brushes a stray hair from your forehead. "Hey, stop. Don't you dare apologize," he says firmly "Itâs not a crime, honey. Look at me."
He waits until you meet his eyes, his expression full of nothing but tenderness. "Go take a hot shower. Iâll handle the sheets. Take your time, okay? Don't rush."
While youâre in the shower, Yeonjun is a whirlwind of quiet productivity. He strips the bed, carries the laundry to start the wash, and carefully fits the fresh, clean linens onto the mattress.
When you emerge, heâs already waiting. He gently guides you back to the bed and tucks you into the fresh sheets, pulling the duvet right up to your chin.
"My poor girl," he whispers, sliding in beside you. With a soft kiss to the top of your head, he holds you close, pulling you back against his chest and letting his hand rest on top of your belly.
SOOBIN
The world feels far too loud and far too bright today. The hormonal migraine that always accompanies your period has reached its peak, making even the sound of the wind outside makes your head throb with a sharp pain. Youâre curled into a tight ball, burying your face in a pillow to escape the light.
When Soobin enters the room, he doesnât have to ask whatâs wrong. He notices the way youâre shielding your eyes. He moves through the room like a ghost, his large frame surprisingly graceful as he draws the heavy curtains completely shut, plunging the room into a soothing darkness.
"Iâm here, baby," he whispers, his voice barely a breath. He reaches out, gently moving the pillow away from your face so you can breathe properly, and leans down to press a soft kiss to your temple.
He stays there for a moment, his long fingers starting a slow, rhythmic massage against your temples. His touch is incredibly light, barely there, but the steady pressure helps to ground you against the pulsing pain in your head. He doesn't say another word, knowing that even his soft voice might be too much right now.
After a while, he carefully slides into bed behind you. Heâs so tall and warm that he covers your entire back, acting like a human shield against the rest of the world. He stays perfectly still, his presence steady and grounding, letting you finally drift into a much-needed sleep.
BEOMGYU
Youâre curled up on the sofa, clutching a pillow to your stomach as a particularly nasty cramp makes you hiss through your teeth. You feel irritable, bloated, and honestly, like you might burst into tears if someone even looks at you the wrong way.
Beomgyu walks into the living room, a joke already on the tip of his tongue, but he freezes the second he sees your expression. He doesn't skip a beat. The chaotic energy vanishes, replaced by a soft, knowing look.
"Ah, the monthly visitor is being a bully again, isn't he?" he says softly.
He knows that when you're like this, you need two things: comfort and a total mental escape. First, he gets to work on the "comfort." He disappears into the kitchen, returning with a tray of your favorite snacksâthe ones he knows you only crave during this specific week. He also brings a hot water bottle, gently tucking it against your stomach so you can hug it close.
Then, he settles on the floor right by the sofa. He picks up his guitar and starts strumming a few low, melodic chords.
He begins telling you the most ridiculous, exaggerated stories about his dayâhalf-truths and funny observationsâjust to see that tiny flicker of a smile on your face. He keeps his voice low and soothing, letting the music and his rambling act as a shield against the pain, staying there until he sees your tense shoulders finally relax.
TAEHYUN
When Taehyun finds you curled up in bed, your face pale from a mix of sharp cramps and a wave of nausea, he immediately gets to work with a calm, focused efficiency.
"I made you some ginger and peppermint tea," he says quietly, setting a steaming mug on the nightstand. âThe ginger is for the nausea, and the peppermint should help relax your muscles. Drink it slowly, okay?â
Once you finish drinking, he notices you shifting uncomfortably, trying to find a position that doesn't make your lower back ache. Without a word, he sits behind you, prompting you to lean forward against a pile of pillows. His hands are warm and steady as he begins to apply firm, expert pressure to the small of your back.
"Is this spot okay?" he asks, his thumbs finding the exact knots of tension created by the cramps. He doesn't just rub aimlessly; he uses a technique he probably researched just for you, his movements slow and rhythmic to help the muscles relax.
HUENINGKAI
Youâre walking down a busy street, the sun a bit too bright and the crowd a bit too loud, when that sudden, sinking feeling hits you. You stop in your tracks, a wave of pure panic washing over you as you realize youâve leaked through your trousers. You lean in and whisper it to Kai, your voice trembling with embarrassment.
He doesnât miss a beat. Thereâs no awkwardness, no hesitation; he immediately steps behind you, using his tall frame to shield you from the view of passersby. "Donât worry, Iâve got you," he murmurs, his voice a calm anchor in the middle of your panic.
Heâs wearing an oversized flannel shirt open over a simple T-shirt, and in one fluid motion, he slips it off his shoulders. He steps even closer, wrapping the warm fabric around your waist. "Here, let me," he says softly, his fingers brushing against you as he carefully ties the sleeves in a secure knot at the front. The long hem of the plaid shirt falls perfectly, covering everything and making it look like just a stylish, layered outfit.
But he doesnât just stop there. He notices how youâre still looking at the ground, your cheeks flushed with shame. He gently hooks his arm through yours, pulling you close to his side. "Hey, look at me. Itâs just biology, babyâand I promise you, no one saw a thing."
He keeps you tucked under his arm the whole way back, distracting you by pointing out every cute dog he sees and making silly jokes until he finally hears you giggle.

S.COUPS ⥠a sober confession [one shot]
pairing: s.coups Ă f!reader.
tags: mutual pining, best friends to lovers, fluff.
summary: waking up with a hangover is bad enough, but having to face Seungcheolâthe best friend you just admitted you're in love withâis even worse (requested).
warnings: hangover symptoms.
note: I highly recommend checking out "a drunken confession" first to see how it all started!
The sunlight hitting your face felt like a personal attack. You groaned, dragging the duvet over your head, but the movement only made your brain rattle painfully against your skull.
Your memory was still a blurred mosaic: the bitter taste of tequila, the biting cold outside the bar, and then... the car ride. After your none-too-subtle confession, you had gone completely silent. Unlike your usual bickering, the drive home had been quiet. The warmth of the heater and the steady hum of the engine had acted like a lullaby, and the scent of his jacket draped over your shouldersâcocooned you in a warm, woodsy haze. You remembered drifting in and out of sleep, your head lolling against the window while he drove in a comfortable, heavy silence.
You sat up slowly, your head spinning. Oh god. You buried your face in your hands. Did that actually happen? Or was it a very vivid, alcohol-induced hallucination?
As you pushed the covers off, you realized then that you weren't wearing your uncomfortable party clothes anymore. Instead, you were swallowed whole by a thick, charcoal-grey hoodieâone of many in your collection of his clothes that you had "borrowed" months ago and conveniently forgot to return. You vaguely remembered stumbling into your apartment, refusing to let go of his arm, and whining about being cold until he finally pulled this hoodie over your head just to get you to stop shivering.
Your throat felt like it had been lined with dust, dry and parched. Turning to the side, you noticed something on the bedside table. There it was: a tall glass of water and two aspirin tablets laid out on a napkin. A small, messy note was tucked underneath: âDrink this before you even try to stand up. â Cheol.â
A warm flush spread through your chest. He was always like thisâannoyingly attentive, even when you were at your worst.
The sound of something clattering in the kitchen suddenly cut through your thoughts. He was still here. Your heart skipped a beat, a mix of anxiety and something softer swirling in your stomach. You spent a good five minutes debating whether you could just stay under the covers until he left, but you eventually realized you couldn't hide forever.
Taking a deep breath to gather your courage, you finally stood up and padded out of the bedroom. You pulled the hood of the sweatshirt over your head and kept it low over your eyes, hoping to remain as invisible as possible.
Seungcheol was standing by your stove, his back to you, busying himself with the pans. He was wearing a simple, wrinkled t-shirtâlikely from a night spent on your far-too-small sofa.
"Morning, sleepyhead," he said, his voice low and raspy. He didn't even have to turn around to know you were there. "I'm making some haejang-guk*. How's the head?"
"Still vibrating, but better, thanks," you whispered, clearing your throat to find your voice. You leaned against the doorframe for support, staring intensely at the toaster. You didn't dare look at him.
"You're very interested in that toaster this morning," he noted. He moved closer, leaning against the counter just a few feet away, watching you with an amused glint in his eyes.
"It's a good toaster. Very... chrome," you replied, your face heating up. The silence stretched out, becoming more suffocating by the second. You could feel his gaze on youâpatient and far too observant.
"Are we going to talk about it?" he asked softly. "Or are you going to keep pretending you've lost the ability to make eye contact?"
You winced and let out a long, shaky sigh. "I was hoping for the second option, honestly."
You glanced at him for a second, though you kept your hands tucked deep into the front pocket of the hoodie. âLook, Cheol... I was a mess last night. I probably said things that made zero sense."
He took a slow step toward you, closing the gap until you were forced to look up and meet his gaze again.
"You made perfect sense, actually. Even the part where you claimed my car 'smelled' just to have an excuse to stay away from me."
He stepped even closer, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Funny thing, though... for someone who hated the car's scent so much, you spent the whole ride tightly wrapped in my jacket, and then the whole walk to your front door with your face buried in my shoulder."
You bit your lip, looking down at his chest, unable to sustain his gaze. "Iâm an idiot."
"No," he whispered. He reached out, his hand moving from the edge of your hood to your chin, lifting it gently so you had to look at him. "You aren't. And I told you to say it again when you were sober."
The teasing tone was gone, replaced by that soft, grounded sincerity that always made your defenses crumble. He didn't demand a grand speech; he just watched you, giving you the chance to back away.
You took a shaky breath, your fingers fidgeting with the strings of the hoodie. "I meant what I said. Itâs annoying how much I like you, Cheol."
He chuckled, that signature dimple making an appearance as he tucked a stray lock of hair behind your ear. "Good. Because Iâve been sitting here for an hour wondering if Iâd have to wait for you to get drunk again just to hear it."
He didn't wait for a reply. He leaned down, capturing your lips in a soft, lingering kiss.
He pulled back just enough to mumble against your lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "By the way, Iâm taking this hoodie back today. Youâve had it for three months."
"In your dreams," you breathed, finally finding your smile.
note: I didnât actually plan on writing a second part for this, but I decided to go for it after receiving a comment requesting to see the "sober" side of the story. I hope you enjoyed it, please leave a like if you did <3

YEONJUN
You were always fiercely protective of your personal bubble. You didnât do big displays of affection.
And then there was Yeonjun.
Yeonjun was, for lack of a better word, a menace. His love language wasn't just physical touch; it was as if he needed to be part of your very personal space at all times.
You were currently sitting on the sofa, completely absorbed in your laptop. You were so focused on finishing your work that the world around you had faded into the background. The apartment was quiet until the front door clicked open. You didn't look up, even when you heard the heavy thud of his dance bag being dropped.
"Baby, I'm home," his voice was raspy, exhausted from hours of practice.
You were so deep in thought that you only managed a small, non-committal "mhm," your fingers never leaving the keyboard.
A moment later, the sofa dipped. Instead of sitting next to you, Yeonjun decided to melt onto you. He draped his long legs over your lap, his head tucking firmly into the crook of your neck. He was warm, smelling like expensive cologne and fabric softener.
"Jjunie, Iâm working," you muttered, your tone flat, though your heart did a traitorous little skip at his proximity.
"Don't care," he mumbled against your skin, his breath tickling you. "I haven't seen you in ten hours. I'm suffering from cuddle withdrawal."
You tried to keep your arms free to type, but he immediately tightened his hold, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you flush against his chest.
"Yeonjun, stop. I really need to finish this tonight," you said.
"No," he pouted, pulling back just enough so you could see his lower lip trembling slightlyâthe ultimate weapon. "Look at me. You haven't even looked at me yet."
You sighed, finally closing the laptop. You turned your head slowly, meeting his eyes. You kept your face neutral, though your gaze softened. "Are you done being dramatic?"
"Iâll be done when I get a kiss," he challenged, a playful, sleepy smirk tugging at his lips. He didn't move an inch, just waited.
You didn't even try to resist for long; you leaned in almost immediately. But instead of a quick peck, you cupped his face with one hand, your thumb brushing over his cheekbone, and kissed him deeply, slowly.
You could feel the vibration of a smile against your lips as he kissed you back, tightening his hold on you.
When you pulled away, his eyes were still closed, a dazed smile on his face.
"Better?" you whispered.
"A little," he whispered back. He buried his face in your neck again, nuzzling the soft skin there. "But I think I need to stay like this for at least three more hours."
"Fine," you murmured, leaning back. "But don't move. Don't disturb me while I finish."
"I won't," he promised, his voice muffled by your skin. "You won't even know I'm here."
You rolled your eyes, knowing that was a lie considering he was practically glued to you, but your hands found their way into his hair, gently tugging at the strands.
You wouldn't admit it out loud, but maybe having a clingy boyfriend wasn't the worst thing in the world.

S.COUPS ⥠a drunken confession [one shot]
pairing: s.coups x f!reader.
tags: mutual pining (best friends), drunk confession, fluff.
summary: Seungcheol gets a late-night call to pick you up after youâve had too much to drink.
warnings: food and alchol mention.
Seungcheol groaned in annoyance at the ringing of his phone. He often had trouble sleeping, and the ringtone had interrupted him just as he was about to finally drift off. He mentally cursed himself for forgetting to put his phone on silent and muttered under his breath instead of swearing at whoever decided to call him in the middle of the night.
He reached out towards the bedside table and grabbed his phone, frowning when he saw ây/nâŁď¸âon the screen, but he didnât hesitate to answer the call.
ÂŤHello?Âť he said, bringing the phone to his ear.
ÂŤAm I speaking with Cheollie? Sorry for calling so late, but I found your number in the recent contacts. Y/N is drunk, and youâd better come pick her upÂť.
Seungcheol asked for the address to be sent via message before hanging up. He sighed, a mixture of concern and resignation settling in his chest. Then, he quickly put on his shoes and threw on a jacket over his pajamas, rushing out to the bar.
Twenty minutes later, he parked his car and saw you sitting on a bench, your head resting on the lap of someone he recognized as one of your coworkers, with a guy standing nearby.
His heart tightened at the sight. You looked so small, so vulnerable, and the fact that it was him you calledâeven indirectlyâmade something stir inside him. He approached and greeted them politely. The guy greeted him back and introduced himself as your coworkerâs brother, also there to help with the drunken situation.
ÂŤWhy are you outside? Itâs coldÂť he said disapprovingly as he took off his jacket and placed it over your shoulders.
ÂŤThey refused to wait inside. Itâs hard to convince two drunk girls. You can imagine the sceneÂť the guy replied as Seungcheol knelt down beside you and gently shook you.
You opened your eyes and sat up. ÂŤCheollie? What are you doing here?Âť you asked, confused, rubbing your eyes.
ÂŤIâd say youâre in no condition to get home on your ownÂť he replied before thanking your friend and her brother.
ÂŤLetâs goÂť Seungcheol supported you as you stood up, and you both started walking towards his car.
ÂŤI donât want to get in!Âť you protested, stomping your feet.
ÂŤWhy?Âť he asked as he opened the passenger door.
ÂŤI donât like your car. Iâll call a taxiÂť.
The lie tasted bitter on your tongue, but you couldnât admit that you were terrified of being close to him right now, after everything.
ÂŤWhatâs wrong with my car?Âť he crossed his arms over his chest, looking at you with an amused expression.
ÂŤIt smells, and it makes me dizzyÂť you managed to blurt out, unable to come up with a better excuse.
ÂŤI assure you it doesnât smell, and Iâll drive slowly so you donât feel sickÂť he said, placing his hands on your hips and gently guiding you towards the car ÂŤAnd Iâll buy you your favorite corndogÂť.
ÂŤReally? Pinky promise?Âť you settled into the front seat, your stomach already growling at the thought of food.
ÂŤYes, I swearÂť he chuckled, leaning over to buckle your seatbelt before getting into the driverâs seat and starting the car.
You felt confused, unsure if it was the alcohol, his closeness, the scent of his jacket on you, or his cologne that filled the car. You inhaled deeply, trying to steady yourself, but his scent only made your heart race faster. Probably all four.
You sighed and rested your head against the seat, closing your eyes. ÂŤIâm tiredÂť you whispered.
ÂŤShould we skip the corndog and go straight home?Âť
ÂŤNo!Âť you yelled, turning towards him as he stopped at a red light ÂŤYou promised!Âť you narrowed your eyes and pouted.
Cheol chuckled, nodding his head before turning his attention back to the road. A few meters ahead, you spotted the kiosk where you usually went.
ÂŤWait here, okay?Âť he said as he pulled over to the curb.
ÂŤDonât forget the ketchupÂť.
ÂŤI know your favorite, darlingÂť he replied as he unbuckled his seatbelt, smiling at you, his dimple making your heart melt.
He leaned over from his seat, and you felt his hand on your hip. Your breath caught, every nerve ending suddenly aware of him. Your heart began to race.
ÂŤIâll be right backÂť he said, planting a quick kiss on your cheek before taking his wallet out of the jacket pocket you were still wearing.
You watched in a daze as he walked towards the kiosk.
You placed a hand over your heart as if trying to calm its frantic beating.
Soon after, he returned to the car and handed you the cardboard box with the corndog, topped with ketchup just how you liked it.
You lifted it off the wooden skewer and took a small bite. It was delicious, but now your stomach was in knots, and you didnât feel as hungry as before. In contrast, Cheol was already halfway through his and kept glancing at you.
ÂŤStop staring at meÂť you muttered softly, noticing from the corner of your eye that he had finished eating and was wiping his lips with a napkin.
ÂŤWhatâs wrong? You usually devour it before I doÂť he teased, taking a sip of his coke zero before placing it in the cup holder between your seats.
Normally, youâd slap his arm or fire back with a witty remark, but this time you remained silent, staring at the food as you closed it up and placed it near the drink. Your thoughts were swirlingâhow had things changed so much between you two? Could you really go back to being just friends after tonight?
ÂŤHey, are you okay?Âť he asked, genuinely concerned.
ÂŤI like youÂť you blurted out without thinking, simply voicing your thoughts. The alcohol probably hadnât worn off yet and only fueled your instincts. ÂŤI like you so much, CheollieÂť.
He stayed silent, but you could feel his gaze on you.
You always take care of me, and then you look at me like that⌠How am I not supposed to fall in love with you? you said, turning to face him. Aigoo*, stop making my heart beat so fast! Not being able to tell you is driving me crazy!
ÂŤBut didnât you just tell me?Âť he replied, trying to hide a smile.
ÂŤNo! It doesnât count when Iâm drunk. I want to tell you that I really like you, but I canâtÂť you said without thinking about your answers, the alcohol taking control.
ÂŤWhy canât you?Âť
ÂŤOh gosh, youâd reject me, and I canât lose youâyouâre my best friendÂť you wrapped your arms around yourself. God, the scent of his jacket was overwhelming, making you lose your mind.
He couldnât hold back his smile any longer, his dimple reappearing on his cheek as he looked at you tenderly.
ÂŤCome hereÂť.
You tilted your head in confusion. Come here? You were literally sitting right next to him in his car, but you still leaned closer to him.
Cheol quickly moved towards your face, so fast that for a moment, you thought the light touch of his lips on yours was just your imagination.
ÂŤRepeat what you said tomorrow when youâre sober, okay?Âť he whispered, still so close that you could feel his breath against yours.

HEESEUNG ⥠the best way ⚠chapter seventeen
You were spending a cozy evening on the couch with Heeseung under a shared blanket when the sound of the doorbell interrupted you. You nudged his arm as you got up, throwing a casual âThe foodâs here,â over your shoulder.
When you opened the door, however, it wasnât the delivery driver you were expecting. Standing there, looking as casual as ever, was Jay.
âJay?â you exclaimed, your voice a little too loud and edged with panic. âWhat are you doing here?â
Jay raised an eyebrow at your tone, stepping inside and kicking off his sneakers without waiting for an invitation. âI was in the area and figured Iâd stop by. Why? Is there a problem?â
Your heart raced as you followed him toward the living room. As the couch and coffee table came into view, you were relieved to find it empty. Heeseung had clearly sensed the situation and disappeared.
âWere you watching a movie or something?â Jay asked casually, throwing himself onto the couch and picking up the remote.
âSomething like that,â you replied, struggling to keep your voice even.
The doorbell rang again, saving you from further questioning. This time it was the food delivery, and you took the opportunity to think of a way to get Jay to leave quickly. When you returned to the living room, you set the bags down on the table â but before you could even say anything, Jay was already unpacking the containers. âPerfect timing. Iâm starving,â he said, completely oblivious to your internal turmoil.
âJay, actuallyââ
âIâm just gonna wash my hands first,â he said, getting up and heading toward the bathroom.
Panic spiked in your chest. âWait!â you blurted, grabbing the back of his shirt to stop him.
He turned to you with a suspicious look. âWhatâs up with you? Are you hiding something?â
âNo!â you said, too quickly.
Jay crossed his arms, scanning the room with narrowed eyes. âMen's shoes by the entrance. Two glasses on the table. And way too much food for just you. Youâre seeing someone, arenât you?â
Your face flushed, caught completely off guard.
Jayâs lips twitched into a smirk. âCâmon, just admit it. Who is he? I should meet him, donât you think?â
Letting out a resigned sigh, you glanced toward the bathroom door. âFine. Come out,â you called, feeling a mix of nerves and dread.
The bathroom door creaked open, and Heeseung stepped out, looking sheepish but not entirely surprised.
Jay, who had his back to the door, turned at the sound. âHeeseung?â
âJay,â Heeseung replied, his voice steady but his posture a little tense.
Jayâs gaze darted between the two of you, realization dawning in his eyes. âWhat are you doing here?â
Before Heeseung could answer, you stepped forward. âWeâre together, Jay.â
Jayâs jaw tightened as he stared at you. âTogether? Seriously? You remember the third rule, right?â
He turned sharply on his heel, heading back to the couch with heavy steps. You exchanged a nervous glance with Heeseung, who whispered, âWhat rule?â
âWeâll explain everything,â you muttered as you followed Jay.
When Jay reached the couch, he stopped and turned to Heeseung, his voice firm. âWait outside. I need to talk to my sister first.â
âJay, letâs not overreact,â Heeseung began, raising his hands in a calming gesture.
But Jay cut him off, his tone brooking no argument. âOutside. Now.â
Heeseung hesitated, looking at you for reassurance. You nodded, giving him a small smile. âItâs okay. Iâll handle this. Go.â
Reluctantly, Heeseung left, the door clicking shut behind him.
Once alone, Jay turned to you with a sigh. âYou remember the third rule, right? No dating the guys. I told you that for a reason.â
âWhy, though?â you countered, crossing your arms. âYouâve never explained it.â
He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident. âBecause if something goes wrong, it could ruin the dynamic. I donât want awkwardness between the guys or at work. Itâs not just about youâitâs about all of us.â
A small smile crept onto your face as you took a step closer to him. âI get that youâre worried, but Heeseung and I⌠we like each other a lot. Weâve been careful, and we wouldnât do anything to make things uncomfortable for you or anyone else.â
Jay stared at you for a long moment before letting out a resigned sigh. âYouâre serious about him?â
âI am,â you said softly. âAnd heâs serious about me. You can trust us.â
Finally, Jayâs shoulders relaxed, and he pulled you into a brief hug. âJust donât make me regret this, okay?â
You grinned, relieved. âYou wonât.â
As he stepped back, you asked, âSo⌠are you staying for dinner?â
He shook his head. âNo, I need to talk to Heeseung. Donât worry, Iâll be civil.â
You narrowed your eyes at him. âJayâŚâ
He raised his hands in mock surrender. âI promise.â
After Jay and Heeseung had left, you spent the next few hours lost in thought, glancing at your phone more times than you cared to admit. You were waiting for any kind of update from your boyfriend. Boyfriend. The word felt strange, almost foreign, but it also brought a warmth that made you smile. It was still sinking in, the fact that you and Heeseung were officially something more than friends.
You were relieved that things seemed to have smoothed over with Jay, but a part of you couldnât stop wondering what exactly your brother might have said to Heeseung.
When your phone lit up with an incoming video call, you quickly accepted, finding yourself face-to-face with Heeseung, who was lying in bed, his hair slightly messy and his face glowing softly in the dim light.
âHey,â he greeted, his voice warm and familiar.
âHey,â you replied, adjusting your position on your own bed so that the phone wasnât wobbling. âHow did it go with Jay?â
Heeseung let out a low chuckle, his smile crooked. âWell, letâs just say Iâm still in one piece, so thatâs a good sign.â
You raised an eyebrow, both amused and curious. âCome on, what did he say?â
âHe threatened me,â Heeseung admitted with an exaggeratedly serious tone, then quickly added, âBut in a very âJayâ kind of way. He just said I better not make you cry or hurt you. And honestly, fair enough.â
You laughed, shaking your head. âClassic Jay. Anything else?â
âYeah⌠thereâs one more thing. Turns out, the guys already knew about us.â
Your eyes widened in disbelief. âWait, what? How is that even possible?â
Heeseung smirked, propping his head up on one hand. âTheyâre more observant than we gave them credit for. Apparently, they noticed how weâd disappear for a few minutes at the Hybe buildingâmultiple times. And thereâs the fact that both of us were always looking at our phones during breaks. Guess we werenât as subtle as we thought.â
âOh my God,â you groaned, covering your face with one hand, though you couldnât help the small laugh that escaped. âI feel so exposed.â
âIt gets worse,â Heeseung said, clearly trying not to laugh. âApparently, theyâve peeked at our chats a few times. You know, like when weâre sitting next to them and our phones light up with notifications.â
You stared at him, equal parts horrified and amused. âAre you serious?!â
He nodded, the grin on his face making it clear he found your reaction hilarious. âOh, and remember all those times I didnât go back to the dorm after practice and said I had something to take care of? Yeah, they figured out where I was going. They even caught me heading to your place once.â
You groaned again, this time burying your face in your pillow. âI canât believe this.â
Heeseung laughed, his voice softening. âItâs not so bad, though, right? At least we donât have to hide it anymore.â
You sighed, peeking at him from behind your pillow. âYeah⌠I guess itâs kind of a relief. Less sneaking around.â
âExactly,â he said with a small smile, his eyes filled with affection. âNow we can just be us.â
The two of you stayed on the call for a little longer, sharing a few more laughs before sleepiness began to take over.
âGoodnight,â he said softly, his voice warm and comforting.
âGoodnight,â you replied, a smile tugging at your lips.
As you ended the call and settled into bed, you felt a sense of peace wash over you. The weight of keeping your relationship a secret was gone, and you drifted off to sleep feeling lighter and happier.
ââË.â
December was flying by in a whirlwind of celebrations and commitments. Between Sunghoon and Ni-kiâs birthdays, the year-end award shows â BBMAs, Gayo Daechukje, Gayo Daejeon â and the Fukuoka stops on their tour, the days blurred together in a flurry of excitement. Yet, amid the chaos, you and Heeseung had carved out your own little moments of joy.
Now that you no longer needed to hide your relationship from the others, you found yourself spending more time at their dorm, fully embraced by the group dynamic.
One evening, you were sitting on the living room floor with Sunghoon and Jake, trying your hand at one of Ni-kiâs notoriously difficult video games. You were so focused that you didnât even notice Heeseung sneaking up behind you until he dropped a kiss on the top of your head.
âYah!â Jayâs voice rang out from the kitchen, where he was pouring himself a glass of water. âCan you not do that when Iâm around?â
Heeseung grinned shamelessly, wrapping his arms around your shoulders from behind. âWhy not? Weâre all family here.â
Jay sighed dramatically. âFamily, sure. But I donât need to see this.â He gestured vaguely at the two of you before retreating to his room.
Sunoo snickered. âPoor Jay hyung. Heâll never recover.â
Everyone burst out laughing, the sound echoing around the living room.
When your one-month anniversary arrived, Heeseung surprised you by planning an intimate evening at your apartment. After their practice ended, he showed up with a bouquet of flowers and a small cake.
âYou remembered?â you asked, surprised, as he placed the flowers in a vase.
âOf course I remembered,â he replied, taking your hand and leading you to the couch. âHow could I forget something so important?â
The two of you spent the evening reminiscing about the past month, laughing about the chaos of keeping your relationship secret at first and sharing quiet, heartfelt moments as you talked about the future.
âYou know,â he said softly, his hand brushing a strand of hair from your face, âIâm really happy with you. Thank you for giving us a chance.â
Your heart swelled, and you leaned in, resting your forehead against his. âIâm happy too, Heeseung. I wouldnât trade this for anything.â
Finally, the last day of the year arrived, and you found yourself backstage at the Gayo Daejeon, helping the boys get ready for their performance. Youâd put extra care into your own appearance, wanting to look your best despite being there for work.
Heeseung, with his wavy hair styled to perfection, looked breathtaking. Every time he walked past, your gaze lingered just a little too long, and Sunghoon caught you more than once, smirking knowingly.
âI think youâre drooling,â he teased at one point, causing you to glare at him before turning back to your work.
Despite the hectic atmosphere, there was a festive energy among the staff and artists. After finishing the boysâ makeup, you joined some of the crew to watch the performances, cheering loudly for every group.
As midnight approached, chaos erupted backstage. Some artists were onstage, others were darting between rooms, and staff members were rushing to finish last-minute tasks. You were weaving through the crowded hallways, searching for the boys, when you spotted Ni-ki towering above the crowd. He waved you over, and you hurried to join them.
The countdown began, and the group huddled together, their voices blending with the crowd as they shouted, âThree, two, oneâHappy New Year!â Cheers erupted around you as hugs and laughter filled the air. Someone popped a bottle of sparkling cider, and the sound of its cork added to the celebration.
Amid the excitement, you turned and found yourself face-to-face with Heeseung. The noise around you faded, leaving only the warmth of his gaze and the soft curve of his smile.
âHappy New Year,â he murmured, his voice just loud enough for you to hear.
âHappy New Year,â you replied, your words barely leaving your lips before he closed the distance between you.
The kiss was soft and unhurried, a perfect contrast to the chaos around you. When you pulled back, Heeseungâs forehead rested against yours, and the smile on his face made your heart flutter.
âThis is a good way to start the year,â he said, his voice laced with affection.
You nodded, unable to stop smiling. âThe best way.â
note: and here we are â the end of this story. I actually drafted the idea last year, but it took me months to finally decide to post it. even though Iâve been really busy lately, I tried my best to stay consistent with the updates because, as a reader myself, I know what itâs like to wait for the next chapter â and I didnât want to leave you hanging. I wasnât sure when Iâd finish posting, but since october came around and there was just one chapter left, I thought itâd be nice to wrap it up today, on Heeâs birthday.

HEESEUNG ⥠the best way ⚠chapter sixteen
The chilly December air carried the scent of roasted chestnuts and sugary treats as the two of you walked side by side toward the glowing entrance of the winter-themed amusement park. Heeseung, well-camouflaged in his black beanie, scarf, and mask, had kept a low profile, but even with most of his face hidden, his eyes sparkled with excitement.
"I didnât realize how much I wanted this until now," you murmured.
Heeseungâs footsteps slowed, and he looked at you intently. "Wanted what?"
"Just⌠this," you said, gesturing at the glowing park ahead and then at him again. "A normal date, with you."
He reached for your hand. âWell, get used to it. I plan to take you out on plenty more.â
You smiled, squeezing his hand, happy to finally be out in public with him. For weeks, your moments together had been stolen glances and quiet embraces behind closed doors.
The park was a dazzling wonderland, draped in twinkling lights and festive decorations. You wandered through the stalls, occasionally tugging him toward something that caught your attention.
At one point, you spotted a game booth offering stuffed animals as prizes. âLetâs try this one!â you said, pulling him by the sleeve.
Heeseung smirked beneath his mask. âYou want me to impress you, donât you?â
âOf course,â you teased, handing the attendant a few coins.
Heeseung rolled up his sleeves dramatically, earning a laugh from you. The game involved knocking down stacks of cans with a ball, and he easily nailed the first two attempts, leaving only one can standing. On his final throw, he managed to topple it, making you cheer.
âSee? Easy,â he said, clearly proud of himself.
You glanced over the display of plush toys, but the PokĂŠmon ones immediately caught your attention. Smiling, you pointed to a Charmander. âThat one!â
The attendant handed over the prize, and you hugged it close, grinning. âItâs so cute! Thank you.â
âIâm cute too,â Heeseung mumbled playfully, nudging your side.
You leaned in, tugging his mask down just enough to press a soft kiss to his lips. âYes, you are.â
The chilly air nipped at your cheeks, turning them pink as you and Heeseung wandered through the park hand in hand. Despite the warmth of his touch, the cold was beginning to seep through your layers, and you couldnât help but shiver slightly.
"Cold?" Heeseung asked, glancing down at you.
"A little," you admitted, rubbing your free hand against your coat.
He stopped walking, scanning the area before spotting a brightly lit stand nearby. The smell of chocolate and cinnamon wafted through the air, drawing your attention. "Come on," he said, tugging your hand gently. "Letâs warm you up."
The stand was festive, decorated with twinkling lights and garlands. A cheerful vendor greeted you as Heeseung stepped forward, ordering two cups of hot chocolate. You watched as he added extra whipped cream and marshmallows to both cups, a soft smile tugging at your lips.
"Youâre really going all out, huh?" you teased as he handed you a steaming cup.
"Of course," he replied, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Hot chocolate isnât hot chocolate without the works."
You both moved to a nearby bench, the parkâs decorations twinkling around you under the winter night sky. Wrapping your hands around the warm cup, you took a cautious sip, humming in approval. "This is so good."
Heeseung grinned, taking a sip of his own. A bit of whipped cream stuck to his upper lip, and you couldnât suppress your laughter.
"What?" he asked, looking at you with a puzzled expression.
"Youâve got a little somethingâŚ" you said, gesturing to your own lip.
He blinked, swiping his tongue across his lip, missing the spot entirely.
"No, not there," you said, laughing harder now.
Heeseung frowned in mock offense. "Are you going to help me, or just laugh at me?"
With a soft sigh, you leaned in, using your thumb to wipe away the whipped cream.
"Thanks," he murmured, his voice quieter now.
You pulled back. "Anytime," you replied, smiling.
Heeseung took another sip, this time more carefully. "You know," he began, glancing at you with a soft smile, "this might be the best hot chocolate Iâve ever had."
"Really?" you asked, raising an eyebrow. "Because of the whipped cream and marshmallows?"
"No," he replied, his gaze warm. "Because of the company."
You rolled your eyes but couldnât hide your smile. "Youâre such a cheeseball."
"And you like it," he shot back, nudging your shoulder lightly.
The two of you stayed there for a while, sipping your drinks and talking softly as the park buzzed around you. The cold didnât seem as biting anymore.
When your cups were finally empty, Heeseung stood and offered his hand, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Come on," he said. "Letâs see what else this place has to offer. Maybe Iâll even win you another Charmander."
As the two of you wandered through the festive lights and colorful attractions, your eyes landed on a vintage-looking photo booth tucked into the corner of the park. It was surrounded by strings of fairy lights and had a hand-painted sign that read, "Create Your Memories Here!"
You tugged on Heeseungâs sleeve, pointing toward it. "Letâs take a picture!"
He followed your gaze, his lips curling into a playful smile. Once inside, the small space forced the two of you to sit shoulder to shoulder, your legs brushing against his.
"Okay," Heeseung said, glancing at the screen in front of you. "Four photos. What should we do for the poses?"
You tilted your head thoughtfully. "How about one normal, one silly, one cool, and⌠you can pick the last one."
"Perfect," he said, pressing the button to start.
The countdown began.
First photo: both of you smiled brightly, the classic, safe option.
Second photo: Heeseung made a goofy face, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue, while you burst into laughter, your head tilting toward him just as the camera clicked.
Third photo: Heeseung leaned back slightly, attempting a brooding, model-like pose, his hand resting under his chin. You tried to follow suit, but the exaggerated effort made you both dissolve into laughter before the flash went off.
When the screen prompted for the fourth photo, Heeseung surprised you by leaning in, his cheek pressing against yours. "Smile," he said softly, his voice warm in your ear.
As the photos printed, you stepped out of the booth, the cold air biting at your skin again. Heeseung grabbed the strip of pictures and examined them with a chuckle. "These are perfect."
Heeseung reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "Let me take a picture of it. I want to save these for myself."
You shook your head with a smile, holding out the strip to him. "You can keep it. I already have Charmander."
Heeseungâs lips curved into a soft smile, his fingers brushing yours as he took the photos.
As you walked along the cobblestone path, your shoelace came undone. You bent down to fix it, but Heeseung stopped you. âWait.â
Before you could protest, he crouched down in front of you, deftly tying the laces. His actions were so natural, so caring, that you couldnât help but stare.
âYou didnât have toââ
âDone.â he interrupted, looking up at you with a teasing grin.
Your heart swelled as you reached down to ruffle his hair under the beanie. âThanks.â
The festive atmosphere of the amusement park felt like stepping into a winter wonderland. Twinkling lights hung from every available surface, casting a warm glow over the pathways, while garlands, wreaths, and baubles adorned the stalls and rides. The faint sound of Christmas carols played in the background, adding to the magic of the evening.
As you strolled hand in hand with Heeseung, your gaze darted from one dazzling decoration to the next.
âThis place really goes all out for the holidays,â you said, your voice tinged with awe.
âThey do. Let me take a picture of youâ he said, pulling out his phone. He stepped back and gestured for you to pose in front of a massive Christmas tree draped in golden lights and ornaments.
After snapping a few pictures, he joined you in the frame for a selfie. His arm wrapped around your shoulder, his face close to yours. âSay âCharmander,ââ he teased.
âCharmander!â you echoed through a laugh, both of you grinning as the camera clicked.
As you continued wandering, you passed under a series of arches wrapped in greenery and fairy lights. It wasnât until you reached the last one that Heeseung suddenly stopped, his fingers lightly squeezing yours.
âWhat is it?â you asked, looking up at him curiously.
He tilted his head, motioning above you. Following his gaze, your eyes landed on a sprig of mistletoe hanging from the archway.
âOh,â you whispered.
Heeseungâs smile turned playful, though there was a certain softness in his gaze. âYou know what this means, right?â
You rolled your eyes, attempting to play it cool. âIâm aware of the tradition, yes.â
âWell,â he said, his voice dropping to a gentle murmur, âitâd be a shame to break tradition.â
Before you could respond, he leaned in, his free hand finding its way to your cheek. The kiss was soft and sweet, his lips lingering just long enough to make the world around you fade away. When he pulled back, the sparkle in his eyes was brighter than any of the lights around you.
âBest part of the decorations,â he said, his tone light but filled with warmth.
You couldnât help but laugh, your hand tightening around his. âI might have to agree.â
And with that, the two of you continued your walk through the glowing wonderland, the memory of that kiss adding its own kind of warmth to the chilly evening.
By the end of the night, Heeseung walked you to your apartment, the plush Charmander clutched in your hands. The warmth of the evening lingered, even as the air grew colder.
âThank you for today,â you said softly, standing in front of your door.
âI should be thanking you,â he replied, his voice low and sincere. âItâs been one of the best nights Iâve had in a long time.â
You smiled, hugging the Charmander tighter. âWell, itâs all thanks to this guy.â
Heeseung raised an eyebrow. âSpeaking of which, I think I deserve him.â
âWhat?â you gasped, holding the plush away from him protectively. âNo way! You won him for me!â
âExactly,â he said, smirking. âSo technically, heâs mine. Iâm just letting you borrow him.â
You laughed, shaking your head. âNice try, but heâs staying right here with me.â
He stepped closer, his eyes narrowing playfully. âWeâll see about that.â
âGoodnight, Heeseung,â you said firmly, standing on your tiptoes to press a quick kiss to his cheek before retreating inside.
As you closed the door, you could hear his muffled laugh through the wood. âDonât think this is over! Iâm coming for Charmander!â
You leaned against the door, clutching the plush tightly as a wide grin spread across your face. Tonight had been perfectâsimple, yet perfect.
note: the next chapter will be the last one, and Iâll be posting it on wednesday, october 15th: Heeseungâs birthday! so make sure to set a reminder so you donât miss it! <3

HEESEUNG ⥠the best way ⚠chapter fifteen
The day had started earlier than usual. Promotions for the new album were still in full swing, and the team had to prepare the boys for yet another packed schedule. The dressing room was buzzing with activity: stylists adjusting outfits, managers checking the itinerary, and the members themselves flitting between practice and interviews.
You stood at your station, carefully arranging the makeup tools, when Sunoo plopped down into the chair in front of you and grinning ear to ear. âNoona, you have to work your magic today. I need to look extra good,â he teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
You chuckled, shaking your head. âYou always look good, Sunoo.â
He pouted dramatically, crossing his arms. âIâm serious! The lighting for todayâs stage is harsh, and I need that glow. Youâre the only one who can save me.â
âAlright, alright,â you replied, picking up a brush. âLet me work my magic.â
As you started applying the base, Sunoo leaned in conspiratorially. âBy the way, Heeseung hyung hasnât stopped talking about how good the last look you did for him was. He even took pictures to show his mom.â
Your hand faltered for a split second before you steadied it. âReally? Thatâs sweet of him.â
Sunoo smirked knowingly. âItâs not just sweet, noona. Heeseung hyung never compliments anyoneâs work so openly. You must be special.â
âFocus forward,â you muttered, pretending to concentrate on the eyeliner. Sunoo snickered but obeyed, his teasing grin never fading.
A few hours later, the hectic energy of the morning had settled.
The rehearsal room was quieter now, the boys having finally returned home for some well-deserved rest, while most of the staff had already cleared out. You were there cleaning up the make-up station, tidying brushes and palettes into neat rows while humming softly to yourself. The day had been long, but there was something satisfying about the rhythm of your work.
You heard the creak of the door behind you but didnât turn around immediately, assuming it was one of the other staff members. The sound of someone clearing their throat caught your attention, and you turned to see Heeseung standing there, his shoulders slouched and a faint grimace on his face.
âOh, Heeseung,â you said, surprised. âYouâre still here. Whatâs up?â
He hesitated, his eyes darting to the floor. âUh... do you have a minute?â
Something in his voice made you pause. He didnât have his usual playful tone or easy confidence. Instead, he looked... uncertain. Vulnerable, even.
âOf course,â you said, stepping closer. âWhatâs wrong?â
Heeseung rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, his other hand resting against his ribs. âItâs not a big deal, but I... uh... mightâve pulled something during rehearsal. I didnât want to bother the staff, but itâs starting to hurt more.â
Your brows furrowed in concern. âWhy didnât you say anything earlier? Sit down, let me take a look.â
He hesitated but eventually nodded, lowering himself onto the small couch near the wall. You grabbed a first-aid kit from the corner, though you werenât sure if it had anything that could help with a muscle strain.
âWhere does it hurt?â you asked, kneeling in front of him.
He gestured to his side, just below his ribs. âHere. I think I twisted weird during one of the lifts.â
âOkay,â you said, your tone gentle. âCan I...?â
He nodded, pulling up the hem of his hoodie slightly to reveal his side. The sight made your breath catch for a secondâhis skin was warm-toned and smooth, save for a faint red mark where the muscle was likely strained.
You placed your fingers lightly over the area, feeling the tension beneath. âDoes this hurt?â
âA little,â he admitted, his voice quieter now.
You glanced toward the first-aid kit, biting your lip. âHold on. I think they keep a cooling spray in here.â After rummaging for a moment, you pulled out the small canister, shaking it once before meeting his eyes again. âThis might help with the soreness. Itâll feel cold, though.â
Heeseung gave you a small nod, tugging his hoodie higher. You leaned closer, carefully aiming the nozzle before pressing down. A fine mist coated his skin, and he flinched slightly at the sudden chill.
âSorry,â you said softly, your free hand hovering just above the spot as if to shield him. He let out a faint laugh. âItâs fine. Actually... it feels better already.â
âIt doesnât feel too bad,â you reassured him. âBut you should definitely let the staff know. They can have someone check it out properly.â
Heeseung nodded, though he didnât look entirely convinced. âI didnât want to make a fuss.â
âYouâre not making a fuss,â you said firmly, looking up at him. His eyes met yours, and for a moment, the air between you felt heavier. âItâs okay to ask for help, Heeseung. You donât always have to push through everything alone.â
His gaze softened, and he let out a small laugh, though it didnât quite reach his eyes. âYou sound like Jungwon. Heâs always scolding me about that.â
âWell, heâs right,â you said, offering him a small smile. âAnd now youâve got me to scold you too.â
He chuckled, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. âLucky me.â
You pulled back, lowering his hoodie gently. âI mean it, though. Promise me youâll get this checked out, okay?â
Heeseung hesitated, then nodded. âAlright. I promise.â
âGood.â
As you stood up to put the first-aid kit away, he called out to you softly.
âThanks,â he said, his tone more earnest than before.
You turned back to him, surprised by the warmth in his expression. âAnytime, Heeseung.â
Just then, the door opened with a soft creak. One of the staff members stepped inside, calling your name. She blinked when her gaze landed on Heeseung still sitting there, and quickly offered a polite bow.
Heeseung returned the gesture with a small smile before slipping out of the room, leaving you behind.
âSorry to interrupt,â she said, slightly rushed. âCould you finish tidying up my things too? I have to run and handle something.â
You nodded, watching her disappear through the door before turning back to the scattered items. What was supposed to be a quick favor ended up keeping you there longer than usual, carefully packing up the makeup kits and making sure the dressing room was left spotless.
By the time you finally stepped outside, the building was almost deserted and the crisp night air bit at your cheeks.
You were surprised to see Heeseung waiting by the buildingâs entrance, hands shoved into the pockets of his black coat. His breath came out in small, visible puffs, and his head tilted slightly when he noticed you.
"You're still here?" you asked, pulling your scarf tighter around your neck.
"Yeah," he replied casually, as if standing in the freezing cold after a long day was no big deal. "I saw you were still working, so I figured I'd wait. You shouldnât walk home alone this late."
The words sent a warmth through your chest that had nothing to do with the layers you were wearing.
"You didnât have to wait for me," you murmured, though the corner of your lips curved up.
"Maybe I wanted to," he said softly, glancing at you with a faint smile.
"Arenât you tired, though? You had an even longer day than me," you asked, adjusting your scarf as you looked up at him.
Heeseung shrugged, his lips tugging into a faint smirk. "Iâm used to it. Besides, waiting for you isnât exactly the worst way to end the night."
You rolled your eyes but couldnât help the way your heart skipped a beat.Â
The two of you started walking, the sound of your footsteps echoing on the quiet street. The world around you was still, as if holding its breath. You talked about random thingsâthe performance, the fans, the upcoming schedules.
"Wait," Heeseung said, stopping in his tracks.
You turned to look at him, confused, until you noticed it too. Tiny white flakes started drifting from the sky, illuminated by the streetlights. The first snow.
"It's snowing," you said, almost in awe.
Heeseung tilted his head back, watching the flakes fall around him. "Do you know what they say about the first snow in Korea?"
You nodded, heart pounding.Â
When you glanced at him, he was already looking at you. "If you see the first snow with someone you like⌠it means your relationship will last a long time. Do you believe in things like that?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I donât know," you replied honestly, feeling the chill in the air but also the warmth of his gaze. "Maybe."
The silence that followed wasnât awkwardâit was charged, a palpable tension settling between you. Heeseungâs gaze lingered on you, his expression unreadable.Â
"Maybe⌠we could test it out," he murmured, his voice trembling just slightly, whether from the cold or something else, you couldnât tell.
The space between you felt impossibly small now, and yet, it was like the weight of his words hung in the air, waiting for you to acknowledge them.
"Test it out?" you repeated, your voice barely above a whisper.
He nodded, his eyes searching yours. "I mean⌠if weâre both here, under the first snow⌠doesnât it mean something?"
Your breath hitched, and before you could second-guess yourself, you took a small step closer. "What does it mean to you?"
Heeseungâs smile was soft, almost shy. "That I donât want to miss this moment with you."
You barely had time to process his words before his hand gently cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin. His eyes searched yours for a brief moment, as if giving you the chance to pull away. But you didnât.
When his lips met yours it was slow, deliberate, and full of everything he hadnât said. You melted into his warmth, your hands instinctively finding their way to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your palms. Heeseung deepened the kiss, tilting his head slightly. Time felt suspended; the snowflakes drifted down around you like quiet witnesses to the moment. Every brush of his lips, every gentle press of his hand against your skin, sent shivers through your body that had nothing to do with the winter air.Â
When he pulled back just slightly, it was only enough to catch his breath, his forehead resting against yours, his voice a low whisper. "Iâve wanted to do that for so longâŚ"
You smiled, heart pounding, your hands still entwined with his coat.
And as the snow continued to fall, you couldnât help but think that maybe, just maybe, the superstition might actually be true.
ââË.â
The night after the kiss had been nothing short of magical. Heeseung had walked you home, his presence warm and reassuring in the chilly air. Just as you reached your door, he leaned in for another kiss, soft and lingering, leaving your heart pounding even after he turned to head back to the dorm.
Once inside, you pressed your back against the closed door, letting out a small squeal of delight. You spent the entire night replaying the memory of his lips on yours, the way heâd smiled at you before saying goodbye. Sleep had been hard to come by, your thoughts consumed by him.
Now that you were seeing Heeseung every day at work, things had taken on a new dynamic. It was thrilling to see him, but it also brought challenges. You had to maintain a professional facade around the other staff and members, which wasnât easy when Heeseung would sneak lingering glances your way or find subtle ways to touch you.
Sometimes, while you were focused on perfecting his eyeliner, he would press a soft kiss to your wrist, his lips barely grazing your skin. Other times, his hands would ghost over your hips when he thought no one was looking. You would shoot him a warning look, but he would only smirk in response, clearly enjoying your flustered reaction.
Then there were the secret rendezvous he orchestrated. Heâd send you a message asking you to meet in one of the quieter, unused rooms at HYBE. The identical hallways always left you slightly disoriented, wandering around and softly calling his name. Suddenly, a door would creak open, and Heeseung would grab your wrist, pulling you inside with a playful grin.
Before you could scold him, heâd have you pinned against the door, his lips meeting yours in a kiss that made you forget everything else. His laughter would mix with yours as you reminded him of the risks, but he always brushed it off, claiming he couldnât help himself.
Sometimes, Heeseung would visit your apartment after practice. Youâd start the evening watching a movie, but it never stayed that way for long. Heeseung would edge closer to you on the couch, and soon the screen would become background noise as you spent the night tangled in each otherâs arms, his kisses stealing your breath.
It was more complicated when you visited the dorm. You both agreed it was better to keep things under wraps for now, so you refrained from acting on your feelings when the members were around. But it didnât stop Heeseung from finding ways to tease you.
One evening, you were in the shared living room of Jake, Sunoo, and Jungwonâs dorm, watching a K-drama with them. You were settled comfortably on the couch when your phone vibrated with a message from Heeseung: âIâm bored. Should we kiss?â
A smile spread across your face, and you bit your lip, trying to suppress your reaction. The boys around you were too engrossed in the drama to notice your slight fidgeting.
You typed back, "Stop it. Iâm not alone."
His reply came quickly: "I miss you, come here"
Your heart fluttered at his cheesy yet endearing response. You tried to keep your composure as you wrote back, "Thereâs Jay."
There was a pause before his next message popped up: "Fine, but you owe me double the kisses tomorrow."
A quiet laugh escaped you, and you sent back a simple: "Deal."
note: finally, they kissed!! Iâve been really busy lately, so I could only update once a week instead of twice. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and thank you so much if you leave a like <3
