summary: Jeonghan struggles to shave after his injury, and you offer to help him.
warnings: razor and bleeding mention.
Youâre lounging on the couch, aimlessly scrolling through your phone, when a sudden crash comes from the bathroom, followed by an annoyed "Fuck."
"Hannie?" you call out, immediately getting up and heading toward the source of the noise. The bathroom door is ajar, and you see your boyfriend standing there with a small cut on his cheek.
"What happened?" you ask, grabbing a towel and gently pressing it against the cut to stop the trickle of blood.
He lets out a frustrated sigh. "I was trying to shave, but with my left hand, itâs almost impossible." He gestures to his right arm, immobilized in a sling after recent elbow surgery.
A wave of sympathy washes over you as you notice the strain in his eyes. You can see how tired he looks, and your heart aches for him. You examine the cut and feel relieved to see that the bleeding has already stopped.
Tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear, you offer, "Let me help you."
Jeonghan nods silently and sits down on the toilet seat.
"Whereâs the razor?" you ask.
He points to the sink with a pout. "I threw it. Got angry."
You suppress a smile, knowing how easily he can get frustrated when things donât go his way. Itâs just like him to take his frustration out on inanimate objects. You pick up the razor, then grab the can of shaving foam, squirting some into your hand before gently applying it to his face. He closes his eyes at your touch, the tension in his features softening slightly, though a trace of annoyance lingers.
"You know this is just temporary, right?" you say softly, trying to comfort him.
"I know⌠itâs just⌠not what I needed right now," he murmurs as you carefully glide the razor over his cheeks.
"I know, baby. Youâll heal soon," you assure him, placing a small kiss on his forehead before continuing.
Jeonghan opens his eyes and watches you intently. "Is this your first time shaving someone?"
You laugh lightly, shaking your head as you rinse the razor. "No, once I tormented my brother until he let me help him shave." You wet a towel and gently wipe the remaining foam off his face. "The first attempt was a disasterâthe bathroom looked like a horror movie set."
He chuckles at your story while you take some aftershave lotion and gently spread it over his smooth cheeks and chin.
"But I learned from my mistakes, and I think I did a pretty good job this time. How does it look?" you ask, smiling proudly.
He stands up and examines his reflection in the mirror, tilting his head from side to side. "Well⌠there are still some hairs here," he says, pointing to a spot on his cheek.
"Where??" You grab his chin, pulling his face toward you as you stand on your tiptoes, squinting to see better. "I donât see anythâ"
Jeonghanâs laughter interrupts you. "Joking."
You huff and give his chest a playful slap. "Idiot."
"You did a great job," he says, giving you a quick peck on the lips.
"I know," you reply triumphantly, turning away to close the lid on the shaving cream.
"I mean it, though. It means a lot that youâd do this for me," he adds, his tone softening as he lingers in the doorway, looking at you with those warm eyes.
"Although I feared for my life the entire time," he adds, quickly making his exit from the bathroom.
"Hey!" you call after him, your voice echoing down the hallway. You canât help but laugh, feeling grateful to know you made his day a little brighter.
note: since Jeonghan's actual elbow surgery happened back in 2022, this story has definitely been sitting in my drafts for far too long! please leave a like if you enjoyed it <3

summary: waking up with a hangover is bad enough, but having to face Seungcheolâthe best friend you just admitted you're in love withâis even worse (requested).
warnings: hangover symptoms.
note: I highly recommend checking out "a drunken confession" first to see how it all started!
The sunlight hitting your face felt like a personal attack. You groaned, dragging the duvet over your head, but the movement only made your brain rattle painfully against your skull.
Your memory was still a blurred mosaic: the bitter taste of tequila, the biting cold outside the bar, and then... the car ride. After your none-too-subtle confession, you had gone completely silent. Unlike your usual bickering, the drive home had been quiet. The warmth of the heater and the steady hum of the engine had acted like a lullaby, and the scent of his jacket draped over your shouldersâcocooned you in a warm, woodsy haze. You remembered drifting in and out of sleep, your head lolling against the window while he drove in a comfortable, heavy silence.
You sat up slowly, your head spinning. Oh god. You buried your face in your hands. Did that actually happen? Or was it a very vivid, alcohol-induced hallucination?
As you pushed the covers off, you realized then that you weren't wearing your uncomfortable party clothes anymore. Instead, you were swallowed whole by a thick, charcoal-grey hoodieâone of many in your collection of his clothes that you had "borrowed" months ago and conveniently forgot to return. You vaguely remembered stumbling into your apartment, refusing to let go of his arm, and whining about being cold until he finally pulled this hoodie over your head just to get you to stop shivering.
Your throat felt like it had been lined with dust, dry and parched. Turning to the side, you noticed something on the bedside table. There it was: a tall glass of water and two aspirin tablets laid out on a napkin. A small, messy note was tucked underneath: âDrink this before you even try to stand up. â Cheol.â
A warm flush spread through your chest. He was always like thisâannoyingly attentive, even when you were at your worst.
The sound of something clattering in the kitchen suddenly cut through your thoughts. He was still here. Your heart skipped a beat, a mix of anxiety and something softer swirling in your stomach. You spent a good five minutes debating whether you could just stay under the covers until he left, but you eventually realized you couldn't hide forever.
Taking a deep breath to gather your courage, you finally stood up and padded out of the bedroom. You pulled the hood of the sweatshirt over your head and kept it low over your eyes, hoping to remain as invisible as possible.
Seungcheol was standing by your stove, his back to you, busying himself with the pans. He was wearing a simple, wrinkled t-shirtâlikely from a night spent on your far-too-small sofa.
"Morning, sleepyhead," he said, his voice low and raspy. He didn't even have to turn around to know you were there. "I'm making some haejang-guk*. How's the head?"
"Still vibrating, but better, thanks," you whispered, clearing your throat to find your voice. You leaned against the doorframe for support, staring intensely at the toaster. You didn't dare look at him.
"You're very interested in that toaster this morning," he noted. He moved closer, leaning against the counter just a few feet away, watching you with an amused glint in his eyes.
"It's a good toaster. Very... chrome," you replied, your face heating up. The silence stretched out, becoming more suffocating by the second. You could feel his gaze on youâpatient and far too observant.
"Are we going to talk about it?" he asked softly. "Or are you going to keep pretending you've lost the ability to make eye contact?"
You winced and let out a long, shaky sigh. "I was hoping for the second option, honestly."
You glanced at him for a second, though you kept your hands tucked deep into the front pocket of the hoodie. âLook, Cheol... I was a mess last night. I probably said things that made zero sense."
He took a slow step toward you, closing the gap until you were forced to look up and meet his gaze again.
"You made perfect sense, actually. Even the part where you claimed my car 'smelled' just to have an excuse to stay away from me."
He stepped even closer, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Funny thing, though... for someone who hated the car's scent so much, you spent the whole ride tightly wrapped in my jacket, and then the whole walk to your front door with your face buried in my shoulder."
You bit your lip, looking down at his chest, unable to sustain his gaze. "Iâm an idiot."
"No," he whispered. He reached out, his hand moving from the edge of your hood to your chin, lifting it gently so you had to look at him. "You aren't. And I told you to say it again when you were sober."
The teasing tone was gone, replaced by that soft, grounded sincerity that always made your defenses crumble. He didn't demand a grand speech; he just watched you, giving you the chance to back away.
You took a shaky breath, your fingers fidgeting with the strings of the hoodie. "I meant what I said. Itâs annoying how much I like you, Cheol."
He chuckled, that signature dimple making an appearance as he tucked a stray lock of hair behind your ear. "Good. Because Iâve been sitting here for an hour wondering if Iâd have to wait for you to get drunk again just to hear it."
He didn't wait for a reply. He leaned down, capturing your lips in a soft, lingering kiss.
He pulled back just enough to mumble against your lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "By the way, Iâm taking this hoodie back today. Youâve had it for three months."
"In your dreams," you breathed, finally finding your smile.
note: I didnât actually plan on writing a second part for this, but I decided to go for it after receiving a comment requesting to see the "sober" side of the story. I hope you enjoyed it, please leave a like if you did <3

YEONJUN
The sharp, rhythmic throbbing in your lower abdomen is what wakes you up. But the real panic sets in when you feel that familiar dampness. With a heavy sigh, you reach over to click on the bedside lamp. As you hesitantly pull back the duvet, you freezeâthe light revealing exactly what you feared: a dark stain spreading across the cream-colored sheets.
Before you can even mutter a curse under your breath, you feel a shift in the mattress. Yeonjun stirs, his hair messy and eyes half-closed from sleep, but he notices your rigid posture immediately.
"Baby?" he mumbles, his voice raspy and deep. He follows your panicked gaze down to the sheets. You start to apologize, your voice trembling from the pain and the sheer frustration of it all, but heâs already moving.
He doesn't flinch. He doesn't make a face or act awkward. Instead, he reaches out and gently brushes a stray hair from your forehead. "Hey, stop. Don't you dare apologize," he says firmly "Itâs not a crime, honey. Look at me."
He waits until you meet his eyes, his expression full of nothing but tenderness. "Go take a hot shower. Iâll handle the sheets. Take your time, okay? Don't rush."
While youâre in the shower, Yeonjun is a whirlwind of quiet productivity. He strips the bed, carries the laundry to start the wash, and carefully fits the fresh, clean linens onto the mattress.
When you emerge, heâs already waiting. He gently guides you back to the bed and tucks you into the fresh sheets, pulling the duvet right up to your chin.
"My poor girl," he whispers, sliding in beside you. With a soft kiss to the top of your head, he holds you close, pulling you back against his chest and letting his hand rest on top of your belly.
SOOBIN
The world feels far too loud and far too bright today. The hormonal migraine that always accompanies your period has reached its peak, making even the sound of the wind outside makes your head throb with a sharp pain. Youâre curled into a tight ball, burying your face in a pillow to escape the light.
When Soobin enters the room, he doesnât have to ask whatâs wrong. He notices the way youâre shielding your eyes. He moves through the room like a ghost, his large frame surprisingly graceful as he draws the heavy curtains completely shut, plunging the room into a soothing darkness.
"Iâm here, baby," he whispers, his voice barely a breath. He reaches out, gently moving the pillow away from your face so you can breathe properly, and leans down to press a soft kiss to your temple.
He stays there for a moment, his long fingers starting a slow, rhythmic massage against your temples. His touch is incredibly light, barely there, but the steady pressure helps to ground you against the pulsing pain in your head. He doesn't say another word, knowing that even his soft voice might be too much right now.
After a while, he carefully slides into bed behind you. Heâs so tall and warm that he covers your entire back, acting like a human shield against the rest of the world. He stays perfectly still, his presence steady and grounding, letting you finally drift into a much-needed sleep.
BEOMGYU
Youâre curled up on the sofa, clutching a pillow to your stomach as a particularly nasty cramp makes you hiss through your teeth. You feel irritable, bloated, and honestly, like you might burst into tears if someone even looks at you the wrong way.
Beomgyu walks into the living room, a joke already on the tip of his tongue, but he freezes the second he sees your expression. He doesn't skip a beat. The chaotic energy vanishes, replaced by a soft, knowing look.
"Ah, the monthly visitor is being a bully again, isn't he?" he says softly.
He knows that when you're like this, you need two things: comfort and a total mental escape. First, he gets to work on the "comfort." He disappears into the kitchen, returning with a tray of your favorite snacksâthe ones he knows you only crave during this specific week. He also brings a hot water bottle, gently tucking it against your stomach so you can hug it close.
Then, he settles on the floor right by the sofa. He picks up his guitar and starts strumming a few low, melodic chords.
He begins telling you the most ridiculous, exaggerated stories about his dayâhalf-truths and funny observationsâjust to see that tiny flicker of a smile on your face. He keeps his voice low and soothing, letting the music and his rambling act as a shield against the pain, staying there until he sees your tense shoulders finally relax.
TAEHYUN
When Taehyun finds you curled up in bed, your face pale from a mix of sharp cramps and a wave of nausea, he immediately gets to work with a calm, focused efficiency.
"I made you some ginger and peppermint tea," he says quietly, setting a steaming mug on the nightstand. âThe ginger is for the nausea, and the peppermint should help relax your muscles. Drink it slowly, okay?â
Once you finish drinking, he notices you shifting uncomfortably, trying to find a position that doesn't make your lower back ache. Without a word, he sits behind you, prompting you to lean forward against a pile of pillows. His hands are warm and steady as he begins to apply firm, expert pressure to the small of your back.
"Is this spot okay?" he asks, his thumbs finding the exact knots of tension created by the cramps. He doesn't just rub aimlessly; he uses a technique he probably researched just for you, his movements slow and rhythmic to help the muscles relax.
HUENINGKAI
Youâre walking down a busy street, the sun a bit too bright and the crowd a bit too loud, when that sudden, sinking feeling hits you. You stop in your tracks, a wave of pure panic washing over you as you realize youâve leaked through your trousers. You lean in and whisper it to Kai, your voice trembling with embarrassment.
He doesnât miss a beat. Thereâs no awkwardness, no hesitation; he immediately steps behind you, using his tall frame to shield you from the view of passersby. "Donât worry, Iâve got you," he murmurs, his voice a calm anchor in the middle of your panic.
Heâs wearing an oversized flannel shirt open over a simple T-shirt, and in one fluid motion, he slips it off his shoulders. He steps even closer, wrapping the warm fabric around your waist. "Here, let me," he says softly, his fingers brushing against you as he carefully ties the sleeves in a secure knot at the front. The long hem of the plaid shirt falls perfectly, covering everything and making it look like just a stylish, layered outfit.
But he doesnât just stop there. He notices how youâre still looking at the ground, your cheeks flushed with shame. He gently hooks his arm through yours, pulling you close to his side. "Hey, look at me. Itâs just biology, babyâand I promise you, no one saw a thing."
He keeps you tucked under his arm the whole way back, distracting you by pointing out every cute dog he sees and making silly jokes until he finally hears you giggle.

YEONJUN
You were always fiercely protective of your personal bubble. You didnât do big displays of affection.
And then there was Yeonjun.
Yeonjun was, for lack of a better word, a menace. His love language wasn't just physical touch; it was as if he needed to be part of your very personal space at all times.
You were currently sitting on the sofa, completely absorbed in your laptop. You were so focused on finishing your work that the world around you had faded into the background. The apartment was quiet until the front door clicked open. You didn't look up, even when you heard the heavy thud of his dance bag being dropped.
"Baby, I'm home," his voice was raspy, exhausted from hours of practice.
You were so deep in thought that you only managed a small, non-committal "mhm," your fingers never leaving the keyboard.
A moment later, the sofa dipped. Instead of sitting next to you, Yeonjun decided to melt onto you. He draped his long legs over your lap, his head tucking firmly into the crook of your neck. He was warm, smelling like expensive cologne and fabric softener.
"Jjunie, Iâm working," you muttered, your tone flat, though your heart did a traitorous little skip at his proximity.
"Don't care," he mumbled against your skin, his breath tickling you. "I haven't seen you in ten hours. I'm suffering from cuddle withdrawal."
You tried to keep your arms free to type, but he immediately tightened his hold, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you flush against his chest.
"Yeonjun, stop. I really need to finish this tonight," you said.
"No," he pouted, pulling back just enough so you could see his lower lip trembling slightlyâthe ultimate weapon. "Look at me. You haven't even looked at me yet."
You sighed, finally closing the laptop. You turned your head slowly, meeting his eyes. You kept your face neutral, though your gaze softened. "Are you done being dramatic?"
"Iâll be done when I get a kiss," he challenged, a playful, sleepy smirk tugging at his lips. He didn't move an inch, just waited.
You didn't even try to resist for long; you leaned in almost immediately. But instead of a quick peck, you cupped his face with one hand, your thumb brushing over his cheekbone, and kissed him deeply, slowly.
You could feel the vibration of a smile against your lips as he kissed you back, tightening his hold on you.
When you pulled away, his eyes were still closed, a dazed smile on his face.
"Better?" you whispered.
"A little," he whispered back. He buried his face in your neck again, nuzzling the soft skin there. "But I think I need to stay like this for at least three more hours."
"Fine," you murmured, leaning back. "But don't move. Don't disturb me while I finish."
"I won't," he promised, his voice muffled by your skin. "You won't even know I'm here."
You rolled your eyes, knowing that was a lie considering he was practically glued to you, but your hands found their way into his hair, gently tugging at the strands.
You wouldn't admit it out loud, but maybe having a clingy boyfriend wasn't the worst thing in the world.
SOOBIN
You liked your privacy. You liked your quiet corners and your sharp, untouchable aura.
But to Soobin, your icy exterior was just a challenge he had long since won.
Click.
You didnât even look up from your book, but your eyelid flickered in annoyance. "Soobin. Stop."
"I can't," he murmured from across the small wooden table. Click. "Youâre so pretty."
You finally looked up, resting your book on the table, and fixing him with your best âI will end youâ glare. It was the look that made most people back away slowly. Soobin, however, smiled at you.
"You have this effortless 'cool girl' vibe that I just have to capture," he teased, leaning back and admiring the screen.
"Iâm just trying to drink my coffee in peace," you said, your voice flat and dry. You reached for your cup, intentionally covering the lower half of your face with your hand to block his view.
"See? Even that," he sighed dramatically, pointing at you. "The way youâre looking at me right now? You look like youâre plotting my demise, and honestly? Itâs a great look for you."
You let out a small, huffing soundânot quite a laugh, but the closest thing to it. You went back to your book, trying to ignore the way he was leaning his chin on his palm, just watching you with that soft, dimpled smile.
Suddenly, you felt his hand reach across the table. He didn't grab your hand; he knew you weren't big on public hand-holding. Instead, he just nudged your book down a few inches so he could see your eyes.
"One more?" he pleaded, his voice dropping into that soft, sugary tone he knew was your weakness. "A real one. I want to see your eyes."
"No," you said firmly.
"Please? Iâll buy you that expensive dessert you liked on the way home."
You paused. You stayed silent for a long beat, maintaining your stoic expression. Then, very slowly, you lowered the book. You didn't smile but you looked directly into his lens, your expression softening just a fraction, a silent peace offering.
Click.
Soobin beamed, looking at the photo like heâd just won the lottery.
"My favorite one yet," he whispered, his thumb brushing against the screen over your image.
You rolled your eyes and pulled your book back up to hide the tiny, involuntary smirk tugging at your lips.
BEOMGYU
You were quiet, sharp, and stillâBeomgyu was a firecracker let off in a small room.
He thrived on noise, laughter, and, most importantly, annoying you. He called it "affectionate teasing," but you called it "a daily test of your patience."
You were currently tucked away in a corner of the practice room, sitting on the floor with your back against the mirrors.
You were only there because Beomgyu had spent the last three days begging you to come and see their new choreography in sneak-preview.
The boys had just started their break, so you had taken the opportunity to drift back into your own world, scrolling through your phone while the room hummed with quiet chatter.
Suddenly, the music flared to life again.
You looked up to find Beomgyu right in the center of the room, giving a 200% energetic performance of Yeonjunâs latest choreography. He wasn't just dancing; he was being extra. He was making exaggerated facial expressions, adding his own dramatic flairs, and basically turning the practice room into his personal concert.
He noticed you looking and immediately danced his way over to you, eventually sliding on his knees until he stopped right in front of your feet.
"Did you see that?!" he shouted, "I think I do it better than Yeonjun hyung*, don't you think?"
"I think youâre being loud, Gyu," you said calmly.
"Iâm not being loud, I'm being passionate!"
He started doing a tiny, teased version of the dance moves right in your face, his nose almost touching yours.
"Beomgyu, stop. You're sweaty," you warned, though your heart was secretly fond of his nonsense.
"Not until you acknowledge my talent!" he challenged, grinning as he leaned in. "Was I cool? Was I sexy? Was I the best dancer you've ever seen?"
He began poking your cheek to emphasize every word. Poke. Poke. Poke.
You remained a statue. "Beomgyu, I am warning you."
"Oh? A warning? What are you going to do? Hiss at me?" He grinned, his eyes sparking with mischief.
You didn't back away. Instead, you reached out, grabbed his collar, and nipped his earlobeâa sharp, quick bite that served as a warning
âHey!" Beomgyu yelped, jumping back and clutching his ear. The rest of the members, who had been watching the scene, started laughing in the background. Beomgyuâs face was turning a bright, delighted shade of pink. "Did you just... bite me? In front of everyone?"
"I told you to stop," you said, calmly. Then, you immediately went back to your phone as if nothing happened.
Beomgyu sat there, completely stunned. He touched his ear, a goofy, triumphant grin slowly spreading across his face.
"You like me so much," he whispered as he threw his arms around you, squeezing you so hard you nearly dropped your phone.
"Get off," you muttered, but you didn't actually push him away.
"Never," he laughed, tucking his head into your shoulder.
You rolled your eyes, but you let him lean his weight against you. He was loud, he was extra, and he was absolutely exhaustingâbut he was your favorite kind of chaos.
TAEHYUN
You were never the type to put your emotions on display. Whether you were ecstatic or miserable, your face remained a calm, unreadable lake. But Taehyun had a supernatural ability to read the roomâand more importantly, to read you. You couldn't hide your moods behind a blank stare or a cold shoulder because he saw right through the act with terrifying accuracy.
You were currently standing in front of the mirror, staring at your reflection with an annoyed look. You were dressed for a formal dinner with some of the labelâs staff and industry acquaintances. It was a networking event, which meant four hours of forced smiles and small talk.
Youâd had a long day, and your social battery was at 0%.
Taehyun walked into the room, already half-dressed in his suit, but he stopped the moment he saw your reflection.
He didn't ask "are you ready?" Instead, he walked up behind you, watching you through the mirror with those sharp eyes.
"Your jaw is tight," he noted calmly. "And youâve been adjusting that sleeve for three minutes."
âIâm fine.â you said, your voice as flat as possible.
"You're doing that thing again," he replied, his voice calm.
"What thing?" you asked, your tone clipped.
"The 'needs no one' thing," His eyes were completely unfazed by your icy aura.
You narrowed your eyes at him.
"Youâre exhausted, youâre overstimulated, and youâre about ten seconds away from hissing at the first person who asks how your day was.â he stated as he walked closer.
You hated how right he was. You let out a defeated exhale, your posture finally slumping. "You're annoying."
"I'm observant," he corrected, a small, triumphant grin tugging at his lips. He reached out, his fingers brushing against your wrist. "Come on. We're skipping the dinner plans."
"Itâs a work event, Taehyun. We can't just... not go."
"Actually, we can," he said, already pulling his phone from his pocket. He didn't look for your permission; he was already providing the solution. "I just texted the manager. I told him I developed a sudden, sharp migraine and youâre staying back to monitor me."
The relief that washed over you was so physical it made your knees weak. You leaned your forehead against his chest, finally letting the armor drop.
"You're a lifesaver," you whispered.
He began unzipping the back of your dress with efficient, steady fingers. "Go put on my biggest hoodie. Iâm ordering chicken and beerâ.
HUENINGKAI
Your relationship with Hueningkai was a total solar eclipse. He was the brightest, loudest, most unapologetically "golden retriever" person you had ever met. You, on the other hand, were the quiet shadow in the corner.
You were currently tucked away in a corner of the boys dorm, curled up in a large armchair with your knees pulled to your chest. Kai burst into the room, his energy practically vibrating the floorboards.
"Look! Look! Look!" he chirped, scurrying over to you with a brand new plushie tucked under his arm. "I got the limited edition one! Isn't he the cutest thing youâve ever seen?"
He shoved the plushie inches from your face. You blinked slowly, your expression remaining perfectly neutral. "It's a white blob, Kai."
"Itâs a rabbit!" he corrected, undeterred by your dry tone. He plopped down on the floor right at your feet, looking up at you with those wide, sparkling eyes that usually made everyone do whatever he wanted. "Do you want to hold him? I think he likes your vibe."
Instead of answering, you simply fixed him with a long, unblinking stare, your face a calm mask of indifference.
He leaned his head against your knee, looking up at you with a pout so devastatingly cute it should have been illegal.
"Why is my favorite person being so grumpy today?" he whined playfully, starting to poke your arm gently. "Is it because I didn't give you your morning forehead kiss? Is that it?"
"Kai, stop," you muttered, though the corners of your mouth were betraying you.
"I won't stop until I see a smile. One tiny one. Even a smirk! I'll take a smirk!" He started making tiny, high-pitched "meow" sounds, mimicking a kitten, while wiggling the plushie's paws at you.
It was ridiculous. It was loud. It was exactly the kind of thing that usually annoyed youâbut because it was Kai, your resolve started to crumble. You tried to maintain your stoic expression, but a small, genuine huff of laughter escaped your lips.
"There it is!" he cheered, his face lighting up like a Christmas tree.
In a sudden burst of affection, he didn't wait for you to come to him. He stood up, dropped the plushie, and basically wrapped himself around you in the armchair, despite the fact that it was definitely only built for one person. He buried his face in your shoulder, giggling.
You sighed, finally letting your arms wrap around his neck, pulling him closer. "You're lucky you're cute." You leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to his nose.

recs: TXT ⥠when their girlfriend has a really bad period
summary: no matter how many years pass, whenever insecurities cloud your mind, Jungwon is there to bring back the light.
The house was just like you remembered: warm, cozy, and filled with memories. Jungwon had come home for the holidays, and it felt like the perfect opportunity for the two of you to spend some time together. Just like old times.
You were sitting on the couch, knees tucked under your chin. Your gaze drifted to the wall, landing on an old photo of the two of you when you were barely ten years old, grinning wildly after a day at the park. Back then, everything seemed easy. Now, though, your thoughts were a whirlwind of doubts.
You didn't even notice Jungwon walking back from the kitchen until he stopped beside the couch. He didn't sit down immediately; instead, he followed your gaze to the photo, then back to your face. His playful expression softened into something more observant.
âYouâve been staring at that photo for a while,â he said softly, finally plopping down beside you.
As he settled in, his foot brushed against yours. You were wearing the matching magnetic socks you'd bought togetherâyours were black and his were white. With a tiny, familiar click, the magnetic hands on the socks found each other and locked.
âWhatâs on your mind?â he asked. He nudged you with his elbow, trying to catch your gaze, but you kept staring at the little girl in the photo.
âItâs nothing,â you mumbled, but Jungwon wasnât one to let things go.
âYouâre a terrible liar,â he said, leaning closer. He reached for your hand, his expression serious. âCome on, talk to me. Is it about work? Or... you?â
You sighed, finally looking at him. "I just... I donât know. Looking at that photo, I feel like Iâve lost that version of me. Lately, I feel like Iâm not good enough at anything. Like Iâm failing at being... me."
Jungwon frowned. To him, you were the one person who always made sense. He hated that you felt this way. Slowly, he slid his fingers between yours, holding your hand securely.
âIâm too quiet, too awkward,â you continued, your voice barely a whisper. âI never say the right things, and Iââ
âStop.â Jungwonâs voice was firm but gentle. He turned your hand over in his, tracing circles on your palm. âStop talking like that.â
âYou know what I see when I look at you?â he began. âI see someone who always makes people feel comfortable. Someone who listensâreally listens. Itâs why I missed you so much while I was away.â
Your heart fluttered at the way he was looking at you.
âI love the way you laugh, and I love how you get excited about the smallest things... like how you insisted we wear these ridiculous socks today.â He smiled, glancing at the black and white socks still stuck together. âYou donât realize that you are already more than enough, just by being you."
âYou always make me sound better than I am,â you murmured.
âThatâs because you donât see yourself clearly,â he whispered, leaning in just a little closer. He glanced down at your lips for the briefest moment before meeting your eyes again. Your pulse quickened, but before the moment could get too heavy, he gave your hand a playful squeeze.
âIâm the expert on you, remember? Iâve been studying you since we were kids.â He reached for the remote and handed it to you. âNow, enough of the sad thoughts. You choose the movie tonight. Anything you want.â
You smiled, feeling the weight in your chest finally lift. âAnything? Even that three-hour documentary about rocks you hate?â
Jungwon groaned, but he was smiling. âIf it makes you happy, yes. Even the rocks.â
You started scrolling through the titles, feeling warm and safe, but then... a strange scent drifted into the room.
Jungwonâs nose crinkled. âDo you smell that?â
You sniffed the air. âIs something... burning?â
Jungwonâs eyes went wide. âThe popcorn!â
He jumped up and sprinted toward the kitchen.
You leaned back against the cushions, laughing loudly as the sound of clattering pots and Jungwonâs dramatic sighs echoed from the kitchen.
You looked back at the wall one last time and smiled. The girl in the photo was happy because she had him by her side. No matter how many years passed or how much you changed, you knew that with him, you would always be that same girlâsafe, happy, and understood.

summary: after years in the United States, you decide to move to Korea and start a new chapter of your life: a new home, a new job⌠and a crush on one of the most popular idols of the momentâwho also happens to be one of your brotherâs best friends.
You were spending a cozy evening on the couch with Heeseung under a shared blanket when the sound of the doorbell interrupted you. You nudged his arm as you got up, throwing a casual âThe foodâs here,â over your shoulder.
When you opened the door, however, it wasnât the delivery driver you were expecting. Standing there, looking as casual as ever, was Jay.
âJay?â you exclaimed, your voice a little too loud and edged with panic. âWhat are you doing here?â
Jay raised an eyebrow at your tone, stepping inside and kicking off his sneakers without waiting for an invitation. âI was in the area and figured Iâd stop by. Why? Is there a problem?â
Your heart raced as you followed him toward the living room. As the couch and coffee table came into view, you were relieved to find it empty. Heeseung had clearly sensed the situation and disappeared.
âWere you watching a movie or something?â Jay asked casually, throwing himself onto the couch and picking up the remote.
âSomething like that,â you replied, struggling to keep your voice even.
The doorbell rang again, saving you from further questioning. This time it was the food delivery, and you took the opportunity to think of a way to get Jay to leave quickly. When you returned to the living room, you set the bags down on the table â but before you could even say anything, Jay was already unpacking the containers. âPerfect timing. Iâm starving,â he said, completely oblivious to your internal turmoil.
âJay, actuallyââ
âIâm just gonna wash my hands first,â he said, getting up and heading toward the bathroom.
Panic spiked in your chest. âWait!â you blurted, grabbing the back of his shirt to stop him.
He turned to you with a suspicious look. âWhatâs up with you? Are you hiding something?â
âNo!â you said, too quickly.
Jay crossed his arms, scanning the room with narrowed eyes. âMen's shoes by the entrance. Two glasses on the table. And way too much food for just you. Youâre seeing someone, arenât you?â
Your face flushed, caught completely off guard.
Jayâs lips twitched into a smirk. âCâmon, just admit it. Who is he? I should meet him, donât you think?â
Letting out a resigned sigh, you glanced toward the bathroom door. âFine. Come out,â you called, feeling a mix of nerves and dread.
The bathroom door creaked open, and Heeseung stepped out, looking sheepish but not entirely surprised.
Jay, who had his back to the door, turned at the sound. âHeeseung?â
âJay,â Heeseung replied, his voice steady but his posture a little tense.
Jayâs gaze darted between the two of you, realization dawning in his eyes. âWhat are you doing here?â
Before Heeseung could answer, you stepped forward. âWeâre together, Jay.â
Jayâs jaw tightened as he stared at you. âTogether? Seriously? You remember the third rule, right?â
He turned sharply on his heel, heading back to the couch with heavy steps. You exchanged a nervous glance with Heeseung, who whispered, âWhat rule?â
âWeâll explain everything,â you muttered as you followed Jay.
When Jay reached the couch, he stopped and turned to Heeseung, his voice firm. âWait outside. I need to talk to my sister first.â
âJay, letâs not overreact,â Heeseung began, raising his hands in a calming gesture.
But Jay cut him off, his tone brooking no argument. âOutside. Now.â
Heeseung hesitated, looking at you for reassurance. You nodded, giving him a small smile. âItâs okay. Iâll handle this. Go.â
Reluctantly, Heeseung left, the door clicking shut behind him.
Once alone, Jay turned to you with a sigh. âYou remember the third rule, right? No dating the guys. I told you that for a reason.â
âWhy, though?â you countered, crossing your arms. âYouâve never explained it.â
He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident. âBecause if something goes wrong, it could ruin the dynamic. I donât want awkwardness between the guys or at work. Itâs not just about youâitâs about all of us.â
A small smile crept onto your face as you took a step closer to him. âI get that youâre worried, but Heeseung and I⌠we like each other a lot. Weâve been careful, and we wouldnât do anything to make things uncomfortable for you or anyone else.â
Jay stared at you for a long moment before letting out a resigned sigh. âYouâre serious about him?â
âI am,â you said softly. âAnd heâs serious about me. You can trust us.â
Finally, Jayâs shoulders relaxed, and he pulled you into a brief hug. âJust donât make me regret this, okay?â
You grinned, relieved. âYou wonât.â
As he stepped back, you asked, âSo⌠are you staying for dinner?â
He shook his head. âNo, I need to talk to Heeseung. Donât worry, Iâll be civil.â
You narrowed your eyes at him. âJayâŚâ
He raised his hands in mock surrender. âI promise.â
After Jay and Heeseung had left, you spent the next few hours lost in thought, glancing at your phone more times than you cared to admit. You were waiting for any kind of update from your boyfriend. Boyfriend. The word felt strange, almost foreign, but it also brought a warmth that made you smile. It was still sinking in, the fact that you and Heeseung were officially something more than friends.
You were relieved that things seemed to have smoothed over with Jay, but a part of you couldnât stop wondering what exactly your brother might have said to Heeseung.
When your phone lit up with an incoming video call, you quickly accepted, finding yourself face-to-face with Heeseung, who was lying in bed, his hair slightly messy and his face glowing softly in the dim light.
âHey,â he greeted, his voice warm and familiar.
âHey,â you replied, adjusting your position on your own bed so that the phone wasnât wobbling. âHow did it go with Jay?â
Heeseung let out a low chuckle, his smile crooked. âWell, letâs just say Iâm still in one piece, so thatâs a good sign.â
You raised an eyebrow, both amused and curious. âCome on, what did he say?â
âHe threatened me,â Heeseung admitted with an exaggeratedly serious tone, then quickly added, âBut in a very âJayâ kind of way. He just said I better not make you cry or hurt you. And honestly, fair enough.â
You laughed, shaking your head. âClassic Jay. Anything else?â
âYeah⌠thereâs one more thing. Turns out, the guys already knew about us.â
Your eyes widened in disbelief. âWait, what? How is that even possible?â
Heeseung smirked, propping his head up on one hand. âTheyâre more observant than we gave them credit for. Apparently, they noticed how weâd disappear for a few minutes at the Hybe buildingâmultiple times. And thereâs the fact that both of us were always looking at our phones during breaks. Guess we werenât as subtle as we thought.â
âOh my God,â you groaned, covering your face with one hand, though you couldnât help the small laugh that escaped. âI feel so exposed.â
âIt gets worse,â Heeseung said, clearly trying not to laugh. âApparently, theyâve peeked at our chats a few times. You know, like when weâre sitting next to them and our phones light up with notifications.â
You stared at him, equal parts horrified and amused. âAre you serious?!â
He nodded, the grin on his face making it clear he found your reaction hilarious. âOh, and remember all those times I didnât go back to the dorm after practice and said I had something to take care of? Yeah, they figured out where I was going. They even caught me heading to your place once.â
You groaned again, this time burying your face in your pillow. âI canât believe this.â
Heeseung laughed, his voice softening. âItâs not so bad, though, right? At least we donât have to hide it anymore.â
You sighed, peeking at him from behind your pillow. âYeah⌠I guess itâs kind of a relief. Less sneaking around.â
âExactly,â he said with a small smile, his eyes filled with affection. âNow we can just be us.â
The two of you stayed on the call for a little longer, sharing a few more laughs before sleepiness began to take over.
âGoodnight,â he said softly, his voice warm and comforting.
âGoodnight,â you replied, a smile tugging at your lips.
As you ended the call and settled into bed, you felt a sense of peace wash over you. The weight of keeping your relationship a secret was gone, and you drifted off to sleep feeling lighter and happier.
ââË.â
December was flying by in a whirlwind of celebrations and commitments. Between Sunghoon and Ni-kiâs birthdays, the year-end award shows â BBMAs, Gayo Daechukje, Gayo Daejeon â and the Fukuoka stops on their tour, the days blurred together in a flurry of excitement. Yet, amid the chaos, you and Heeseung had carved out your own little moments of joy.
Now that you no longer needed to hide your relationship from the others, you found yourself spending more time at their dorm, fully embraced by the group dynamic.
One evening, you were sitting on the living room floor with Sunghoon and Jake, trying your hand at one of Ni-kiâs notoriously difficult video games. You were so focused that you didnât even notice Heeseung sneaking up behind you until he dropped a kiss on the top of your head.
âYah!â Jayâs voice rang out from the kitchen, where he was pouring himself a glass of water. âCan you not do that when Iâm around?â
Heeseung grinned shamelessly, wrapping his arms around your shoulders from behind. âWhy not? Weâre all family here.â
Jay sighed dramatically. âFamily, sure. But I donât need to see this.â He gestured vaguely at the two of you before retreating to his room.
Sunoo snickered. âPoor Jay hyung. Heâll never recover.â
Everyone burst out laughing, the sound echoing around the living room.
When your one-month anniversary arrived, Heeseung surprised you by planning an intimate evening at your apartment. After their practice ended, he showed up with a bouquet of flowers and a small cake.
âYou remembered?â you asked, surprised, as he placed the flowers in a vase.
âOf course I remembered,â he replied, taking your hand and leading you to the couch. âHow could I forget something so important?â
The two of you spent the evening reminiscing about the past month, laughing about the chaos of keeping your relationship secret at first and sharing quiet, heartfelt moments as you talked about the future.
âYou know,â he said softly, his hand brushing a strand of hair from your face, âIâm really happy with you. Thank you for giving us a chance.â
Your heart swelled, and you leaned in, resting your forehead against his. âIâm happy too, Heeseung. I wouldnât trade this for anything.â
Finally, the last day of the year arrived, and you found yourself backstage at the Gayo Daejeon, helping the boys get ready for their performance. Youâd put extra care into your own appearance, wanting to look your best despite being there for work.
Heeseung, with his wavy hair styled to perfection, looked breathtaking. Every time he walked past, your gaze lingered just a little too long, and Sunghoon caught you more than once, smirking knowingly.
âI think youâre drooling,â he teased at one point, causing you to glare at him before turning back to your work.
Despite the hectic atmosphere, there was a festive energy among the staff and artists. After finishing the boysâ makeup, you joined some of the crew to watch the performances, cheering loudly for every group.
As midnight approached, chaos erupted backstage. Some artists were onstage, others were darting between rooms, and staff members were rushing to finish last-minute tasks. You were weaving through the crowded hallways, searching for the boys, when you spotted Ni-ki towering above the crowd. He waved you over, and you hurried to join them.
The countdown began, and the group huddled together, their voices blending with the crowd as they shouted, âThree, two, oneâHappy New Year!â Cheers erupted around you as hugs and laughter filled the air. Someone popped a bottle of sparkling cider, and the sound of its cork added to the celebration.
Amid the excitement, you turned and found yourself face-to-face with Heeseung. The noise around you faded, leaving only the warmth of his gaze and the soft curve of his smile.
âHappy New Year,â he murmured, his voice just loud enough for you to hear.
âHappy New Year,â you replied, your words barely leaving your lips before he closed the distance between you.
The kiss was soft and unhurried, a perfect contrast to the chaos around you. When you pulled back, Heeseungâs forehead rested against yours, and the smile on his face made your heart flutter.
âThis is a good way to start the year,â he said, his voice laced with affection.
You nodded, unable to stop smiling. âThe best way.â
note: and here we are â the end of this story. I actually drafted the idea last year, but it took me months to finally decide to post it. even though Iâve been really busy lately, I tried my best to stay consistent with the updates because, as a reader myself, I know what itâs like to wait for the next chapter â and I didnât want to leave you hanging. I wasnât sure when Iâd finish posting, but since october came around and there was just one chapter left, I thought itâd be nice to wrap it up today, on Heeâs birthday.
thank you so, so much to everyone who read this story â and especially to those who interacted with likes or reblogs. your support genuinely kept me motivated whenever I felt like giving up or deleting everything. you have no idea how much that means to me <3
p.s. Iâve got a few one-shots in the drafts (with different idols and groups), so if youâre curious, feel free to stick around â you might see something new soon!
Happy birthday, Heeseung! he is my bias since i-land and Iâm endlessly proud of him â for his hard work, his passion, and the way he keeps growing as an artist and as a person. he deserves all the love and happiness in the world <3
