Did you know an old wife’s tale was that if there’s a ring around the moon it is going to rain very soon but the wider the ring you count how many stars are in it and that is how long it will be till it does rain. The truth in the matter is to see the Ring around the moon there has to be enough ice crystals in the air, high moisture, and that is usually what you see when rain is coming. The further out the ring is the more stars you have. The percentage of moisture in the air is high, but not high enough and the more stars the further out the rain possibilities are. My mom used to have a German shepherd, Iara, that was smart enough to train herself to catch chickens that got out of their enclosure and hold them down until a human retrieved the unharmed chicken... but not smart enough to walk past the end of this chickenwire partition in the yard if a chicken was on the other side of it.

Dogs are WEIRD about fences. I have trained 2 dogs in recent years. The smaller pit mix disregards all obstacles. Fences and couches and walls are suggestions. He will go over or through anything between him and his mama. He walked through a screen door like it wasn't there last time he was over. No respect for it being closed.
