Even if you know about none of those things, but simply enjoy The Backrooms lore, then you may be interested in these two new wikis:

They are The Backrooms: Pantheon and The Backrooms: Convergence. They are functionally independent of each other, telling their own unique stories about two whole different universes with their own rich and deep lore – but they do nonetheless tie into each other as part of a greater narrative. They are primarily character-driven and story-driven, including many well-known concepts in the existing Backrooms mythos, but still strive to maintain and recapture the liminal vibe that The Backrooms is rooted in. As the original creator/owner of this lore, I founded these wikis so that my full, true vision for them could be properly expressed with full creative freedom.

However, we cannot do this alone. We are in need of authors, artists, coders, or even just readers/fans in order to expand the community and realize its full potential. Unlike other backrooms wikis, there is no elitism or gatekeeping, and the barrier to entry/writing is lower – but not at the expense of quality, dignity or reputation. Posting a page is much faster and easier, but drafts are still closely reviewed and regulated to ensure quality in the writing and consistency in the lore. There is no enforced age limit, but there is a maturity limit and skill limit. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a thriving community of those who are all passionate about the stories and characters of this universe, and in turn can reflect that passion in whatever they may produce for it.

In seriousness, this is oklch.com, a color picker for the OKLCH color model.

There are whole several hour lectures one could take in color science and theory, but to keep it short: the set of colors we can see, the set of colors monitors can display, and the set of colors computers can model are three circles that only somewhat overlap.

In this case, if I wanted this color

but in red, I could just go of Photoshop and move over the hue slider, getting this as a result:

Which is.. acceptable, but not as "bright" and "vibrant" as the green I had. Looking at the graphs in the OKLCH color picker, we can figure out why:

It tells us that a red with the same luminosity and chroma as this green is out of gamut—that is, it cannot be displayed by this monitor.

In this case, you can use the edges of the graph to find the color that is closest to what you want. You can, for example, keep the chroma but sacrifice lightness,

keep the lightness but drop the chroma,

or a bit of both, which is what the common HSV triangles already do.

What if what *I* see as blue, *you* see as a slightly different blue because you're using Chrome instead of Firefox and despite a decade of messing with profiles we STILL can't get this right somehow.

I couldn't find the caramelldansen base in this post, but here is a version that should work just as well.

How to make them into a GIF:

Step 1. Edit the base however you like (I used MSPaint)

Step 2: Crop and save each frame individually as PNGs (Note for the lick base: It's best to crop them to include the black boarder. This makes the GIF 50x50, which is the standard DeviantArt icon size and can easily scale larger if need be.)

Step 3: Go to ezgif.com/maker and upload all your frames

Step 4: Set "delay time" to 10, then click "Make a GIF!"

Step 5: Right-click the result and save it. Congrats! You used a GIF base!
